Top 10 Posts of 2015

I can hardly believe that today is the last day of 2015! In a few short hours we will all be raising our glasses of champs, lighting the sparklers and counting down "5...4...3...2....1!" 2015 was a year of pretty intense highs (becoming Junior League president, getting a promotion, some incredible trips across the country) and also some painful lows (getting my heart broken, entering a "waiting period," and unanswered prayers). But in looking back at all that has happened, and where I am now, I wouldn't trade a minute of the madness! I know without a doubt that the Lord has brought me here, to this moment, right where I am now, and that He has HUGE plans for 2016- plans that I can't even fathom! So while it is always sad to say goodbye to a year, I'm looking forward with excitement, hope, & faith. 2016 I'm coming for ya! #LetsDoThis

For my final post of 2015 I wanted to take a look at your favorite posts of the year and recap them for you (in case you missed a minute of the fun!) Let's get started on the stroll down memory lane...

Ring in 2016 in Style!

It's hard to believe we'll be ringing in 2016 in just two more sleeps! I love the start of a new year because as cheesy as it sounds it is a fresh beginning and a new start- a chance to wipe the slate clean and begin fresh! But before we get to all that, we have to figure out what to wear! :) Today I've rounded up dresses, shoes, and accessories that will carry you in to the new year in style (how else would you enter it??) Let me know what you'll be wearing in the comments below!

Green Plaid Cardigan

Happy Monday y'all!! I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas (I know I did!) I'm not quite done with the holiday festivities yet, so I still have a few more merry outfits to share with y'all before we hit 2016 - eek! Who else can't believe a new year is about to begin?! And, I don't know about you but getting back into the swing of work today is going to be brutal... bring on the caffeine please! :)

Merry Christmas Y'all!

I hope that in the midst of the presents and the cheer today we can take a moment to remember what the day is really about- the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It's hard to fathom sometimes that our God loved us so much that her sent his Son to save us from our sins. What love that is! Daily I'm humbled by the Lord's grace for me, and today more than ever I am thankful for his faithfulness to us (even when grossly undeserved).

So hug your loved ones tight and give thanks to the Lord for he is so good!

Merry Christmas y'all!

What to Wear on Christmas Day!

Happy Christmas Eve y'all!! Can you believe tomorrow is the big day?! I sure can't! Sorry about the unexpected radio silence the last two days, it was a whirlwind to pack and come home on Tuesday and then I've been soaking up quality time with my family since- it's been blissfully stress-free! But I just had to pop in today and share a great outfit idea if you're still trying to figure out what to wear on Christmas day.

In my family Christmas day is a pretty casual affair. My sister and I have a sleepover on Christmas Eve and we always wake up by 5am ready to grab some coffee and open presents! We usually have to wait for "Santa" to finish downstairs... and Dad to wake up! But by 6am we are all up and rearing to go! So, by the time we get dressed and head to my Grandma's house for round 2 later in the day we are tired and in need of cute and comfy looks- like the one I'm sharing today.

My Top 10 Favorite Purchases of 2015

It's so hard to believe that 2015 is winding down and with it comes all the "countdowns" to the beginning of a new year. I thought it would be fun today to share with you my 10 favorite purchases of 2015! Let's be honest, I shop some a lot, so when I find something that sticks out as fabulous you know it's good! And, if you have any shopping left to do, this may spark some ideas for you!

Currently Obsessing Over... {v. 56}

Well y'all, at this time next week we will be sipping coffee and unwrapping presents while listening to Christmas carols- I can't believe Christmas is almost here! This season has sure flown by and I'm not sure I'm ready yet for 2016! I'm happy to have this weekend to finish my Christmas shopping and wrap all my gifts- but I'm most excited for next week when I see my loved ones unwrap them! I'm also headed to a fun Christmas party and gift exchange with my bible study girls- can't wait!

So let's get to everything I'm obsessing over this week...

I'll Take You to the Candy Shop

I don't know about you, but I can't pass a candy shop without humming 50 Cent lyrics... just me? I'm ok with that! Regardless of your affinity for hip-hop music, I was so excited when we stumbled upon this precious candy shop and the building perfectly matched me out! That doesn't happen that often when you wear colors as bright as these :)

I just have to take a minute and tell you how ah-mazing this dress is! It is a new style from Lilly Pulitzer called the Linden Dress and it is one of the first t-shirt style dresses that I can actually wear! I have a big booty and serious curves so t-shirt dresses are usually not my best friend, but this one is definitely the exception to the rule! It's actually cut like an a-line and the material is thicker so it doesn't cling- y'all it's seriously the bomb dot com! (When I start pulling out my 90's lingo you know I'm serious ;) )

Gifting with Girl Meets Bow: Stocking Stuffers & My Wishlist

I've got a double-decker gift guide coming to you today, packed full of ideas for me and some easy last-minute stocking stuffers!

First off, me! :) I feel that I've started getting to that point in my life where I can afford most of what I  want and need (incredibly thankful for that!), so my Christmas list is truly just fun things I love or aren't in my budget right now. As I'm getting back into reading more, I feel like I can't get enough chick lit in my life and Southern Charm looks like it will be right up my alley! For travel I am still hoping Santa brings this rolling duffle (now 50% off!), and in case my Santa is feeling super-duper generous this Tory Burch has been on my lust-list forever!

Tassels and Chambray

Happy Tuesday y'all! Today's look is seriously a favorite- you can never go wrong with chambray & a bold tassel! I love the simplicity of this look and that is is basically a blank canvas for any accessories you want to add. Today I went for fun pops of color and cheeky accessories, but you could easily add a oversize bib necklace & gold sandals in summer to add some "tropical" to the look and transition from one season to another #toearlytotalksummer ? #warmweatherdreaming

I've mentioned this necklace before, but in case you missed I just have to share again that proceeds from sales of this piece go to the Independence Fund which helps disabled veterans regain mobility. Seriously the best cause and it makes you feel wonderful to wear something that does good for our veterans!

An Easy Girl's Night Look

Let's all get real for minute, during the holidays time is at a premium and ain't no one got time to spend forever and a day getting fussy for a night out with your girls. Easy becomes the name of the holiday game (and really, when you're popping the bubbly with you don't want to be messing with a pretentious outfit!) So is it any surprise that I reach for my go-to pieces when prepping? Nope it shouldn't be! ;) To jazz up this easy blouse and pants I added sassy black boots, and of course tons of jewels! Don't be afraid to stack your bracelets high, pile on necklaces and pull out a cocktail ring! This is one occasion where you don't want to be subtle. Now grab your champagne flutes and go have some fun y'all!

Holy cow y'all- how are we two weeks through December?! I can't believe how fast this year is going, I just want to slow down a little and savor the season. I've been itching to do something festive this week so tomorrow some friends and I are going to a Christmas-themed Bar Crawl and I couldn't be more excited! I haven't "crawled" since college so we'll see if I can still hang with the youngins! ;)

Let's get to what I'm obsessing over this week (some serious fun stuff!)

Happy 2 Year Blog-iversary!

Today is a pretty gosh-darn exciting day around these part because I'm celebrating my two year blog-iversary!! It's hard to believe that two short years ago I took the plunge and started Girl Meets Bow- I had no idea what I was in for! But y'all I can honestly say that it has been the most incredible journey and I have learned so much about myself and gained so many new skills (hello shooting pictures in manual and html coding!)

But, without a doubt the very best part of this journey has been YOU! Getting to know you, my darling readers, has brought so much joy to my everyday! Your kind words, encouragement, and overall cheer bring so many smiles to my face :) I love getting to chat fashion & pop culture with you and that you have as much fun visiting GMB as I do creating it! Y'all really are the bees knees and I hope you know how much I appreciate each and every one of you! From the bottom of my heart thank you for your support and friendship!

Getting Personal with Marleylilly

It's the eternal southern girl's question... "If it doesn't have your monogram is it really even yours?" ha! But seriously y'all... monograms are my jam and lucky for us all Marleylilly solves any monogramming needs you could possibly have! We all know my love for the puffer vest as well as monograms, so put the two together in one on-trend item and I'm as happy as a witch in a broom factory (anyone else crack up at those Gieco commercials?!)

Santa's Helper: What to Wear Christmas Shopping

You know what they say... tis the season! With everything we "adults" have going on, it can sometimes be hard to be in the Christmas spirit (the Holiday to-do lists seem endless!) but you know what always gets me in the festivities? Holiday clothes!  There's nothing that brings cheer more than wearing a spirited shirt while shopping for gifts for my loved ones! To jazz the tee up a bit, I added my go-to skirt and boots- super easy and cute and perfect for being Santa's helper for the day!

Currently Obsessing Over... {v. 54}

Happy Friday! I don't know about you but this week flew by and I'm afraid the holiday season is going to do the same, so I'm trying to soak up and savor every minute of the fun! This weekend is going to be packed with volunteering at Snowfest, cheering on my Gators at the SEC Championship, & finally shooting some new looks for the blog! What do you have planned?

Gifting with Girl Meets Bow: For the Lilly Lover (Under $75!)

This gift guide was so much fun for me to put together because it could have been called "gifts for me" since we all know what a Lilly-lover I am! ;) It was important to me to curate gifts that would not only delight your favorite color-loving girls but also wouldn't break the bank since everyone has so many gifts to get during the holidays! I think my favorite item are the adorable crab earrings- for under $30 they are a STEAL! Which is your favorite?

2

Tracy Negoshian Kira Top

I've talked about my "uniform" before and this is the fall version of it; an easy blouse, my Lilly Pulitzer travel pants, boots and some fun baubles and I'm ready to run out the door! I probably wear this look far too often (in fact I wore a version yesterday!) but I love it so much I can't help it! Do y'all have any go-to looks?

Gifting with Girl Meets Bow: Christmas PJ's

After a snuggly and cozy Thanksgiving at home, all I want to do is be curled up in the sweetest pajamas and watching Christmas movies and wrapping gifts! So today I thought I would round up my favorite PJ's for the cozy Christmas afternoons- tis the season y'all!

Sunday Scripture

(if you know the link to the source please let me know!)

I'm reading a phenomenal book in my weekly bible study right now called "Lies Women Believe and the Truth that Sets Them Free" and I can't recommend it enough! We are only in chapter 2 and it has truly been eye-opening to me to see all the lies that the Devil wraps us women in and leads us to believe; lies that keep us from being effective for the Kingdom and living God's best. The whole book is about debunking those lies and learning God's truth so that we can fight off those lies. Man y'all, it's life-changing! It's pretty amazing to walk through the bible and see that God's faithfulness is present in every detail- he doesn't miss a thing and is always working for the best for His people. He loves us so!

Small Business Saturday Sales

The "older" I get the more I enjoy shopping and supporting local businesses in my community. There is nothing cooler than getting to know local business owners and watching their businesses flourish and thrive with support from the community. If you don't know, today is Small Business Saturday, a day all about shopping local and supporting the small businesses in your town!

So, I thought it would be fun to round up my favorite "small businesses" (that you can also shop online) and their awesome sales:

Ditch the DVR with NBC TVEverywhere

If you've been around these parts for awhile, then you know very well that I am a girl who is constantly on the go! Getting Buddy walked and fed in the morning, working all day in corporate retail, running to the gym or a Junior League meeting, then walking Buddy boy again and finally writing a blog post- my days leave little time for me to keep up with the TV shows/pop culture I love. But I still want to be able to participate in the water-cooler gossip each week, which is why I am so excited to have discovered NBC's TVEverywhere!

Gifting with Girl Meets Bow: For Her

Today's gift guide was so much fun to put together and has ideas for your mom, your sister, your besties- really any girl in your life! We all know I have an affinity for a cute coffee mug and this one is perfect for the girl who celebrate everyday. I'm also a sucker for cozy gifts, so these fun flannels, soft slippers, and warm throw are perfect for a snuggly night in (for the gal who loves a good movie night!) If you've been reading here for some time then you know I L-O-V-E my Bourbon and Bowties, so let's just say this Elf will be gifting them to several ladies on my list! :)

A Thanksgiving Look with Brooklyn Hat Company

Happy Thanksgiving week y'all! Can't believe this Thursday is the "big day" (or should I say meal?) - this year is just catapulting by! In case you don't have your outfit picked out yet, I shared a few previous ideas here, and today I thought I would show you one more.

You certainly can't go wrong with plaid (ever) but adding a big 'ol floppy hat makes this look so fun! This is my first oversize hat, and I'm completely over the moon for it! It's from Brooklyn Hat Company, and can you believe this is their very first full line? Their vision is to take us back to a time when you "tipped your hat before walking out the door" and I sure think Thanksgiving is the perfect time to bring back that sentiment! So what have you picked out for the big day?! Do tell... :)

Currently Obsessing Over... {v. 53}

One of the things I want most on this blog is to share my heart with y'all. Fashion is a huge part of who I am so I enjoy sharing fun looks and finds in hopes that it sparks ideas for you too, but I also love current events, cooking, reading, dancing to good jams & more! So I'm going to switch up the format of my Friday series in hopes that I can share a little bit more of "me" with you! Let me know what you think and if there are any things you want to see in the future. Hope you like it as much as I do!

Gifting with Girl Meets Bow: Under $25

I'm so excited to be kicking off my "Gifting With Girl Meets Bow" series with under $25 gifts today! I believe that you don't have to spend a lot to give adorable and meaningful gifts- and I'm going to show you how today :) One of my favorite gifts to give is cute drink wear; coffee mugs and wine glasses get tons of use around my house so those are always appreciated! In the fall I love lighting candles and decorating with seasonal cheer, so those are gifts I love to share with my friends too! Tis the season y'all!

Herringbone and Plaid

The biggest bummer about that fact that Florida has decided to be in a perpetual state of summer is that it's kept me from busting out my puffer vests- but not anymore! It's time to let these babies out of hiding! ;) This herringbone vest has to be one of my most reached-for pieces because it's practically a neutral and mixes and matches with everything in my closet! I decided to get real creative today and mix it with this boyfriend plaid pullover- and the result is pretty fun, don't 'ya think?!
6

Pursuit of Preppiness

Happy Tuesday y'all! I'm so excited to share some fun news with you... after a month of interviews and three additional weeks of waiting, it's official that I am now an Associate Buyer in Jewelry at my company!! I can't thank you enough for your sweet words, encouraging thoughts, and rah-rah attitudes- they helped keep me positive during this whole process ('cause man that was a long one!) I started in my new role yesterday and I am already so excited! It's a lot more responsibility and some new brands, but it's going to be a great challenge and I can't wait to settle in! I'm so passionate about what I do- merchandising is absolutely a dream job for me- and it's exciting to see my career growing! An exciting bonus of my new role- I'm going to get to travel a few times a year! whoop whoop! :)

Have You Met... Lauren of Sweet and Southern Lifestyle

One of the very best things about blogging is connecting with other amazing ladies  who share the same passion that I do! It's even more fun to connect with someone local... insert my sweet friend Lauren who blogs over at Sweet and Southern Lifestyle! Lauren and I actually connected through Junior League and then reconnected though our blogs, so today we thought it would be fun to do a little Q&A with each other. Hop on over to her blog to learn a little more about me and read below to find out more about this lovely, Lilly-loving gal!

Sunday Scripture + Thoughts

There has been some pretty exciting things happening around these parts- I can't wait to share them with y'all! But what has been amazing hasn't necessarily been what has happened, but it's been seeing the Lord at work (because he has been so evident). Wherever you are, and whatever you are praying for, don't lose hope and don't give up- He is good and his love endures forever!

Saturday Shopping

Sorry I took a wee little break the past two days! Life has been happening at rapid pace and I just wanted to take the time to soak it all - it's sure nice to just "be" sometimes :) But I'm back today with a fun little round-up of goodies I've found in case you're headed out to do some shopping (for yourself or others!) Tis the season y'all!

What to Wear for Thanksgiving

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is only 2 weeks away? I sure can't! Last week we talked about dressing your table to get you ready for the big day, so it only seems fitting that this week would talk about dressing yourself! When it comes to Thanksgiving I'm all about comfort, ease, and making room for the inevitable "food baby" that will happen! (I can't be the only one that goes back for seconds with pumpkin pie!) ;)

Thanksgiving Dinner

The Holiday Spirit

Y'all, I'm having the hardest time getting into the holiday spirit this year (it probably has something to do with the 90 degree weather)- this year has flown by so fast I can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving and then Christmas! But whenever I'm struggling with feeling, I find that dressing the part usually helps ;) So today I'm going full festive in hopes that I can start to spread some holiday cheer! This skirt is definitely doing a great job of getting me ready for the fun to come in the next few weeks!

Seeing Spots

This weekend was kind of the best! Some of my best girlfriends and I planned a fun trip to Gainesville to cheer on our Gators at the Homecoming game and we had a totally blast despite the 90 degree temperatures (yes... in November!) Even though it was an ugly win (9-7) I'm still pumped for our boys and we're going to the SEC Championship game- whoop whoop!! Can't wait until December! After a busy Saturday, I headed back to St Pete for our Junior League's "Fall into Fashion" fundraiser- and what a fun time it was!

I'm sure you can feel me when I saw I definitely needed something easy for my Monday! I hopped on the swing sweater trend last year- and i've never hopped off! They are the perfect topper piece and add the perfect natural base to some pretty wild pants :)

Currently Obsessing Over... {v. 52}

Happy happy Friday- oh it is a happy Friday indeed! I'm headed to Gainesville this weekend to cheer on my Gators at Homecoming and I can't wait! It's my first weekend back since I graduated 5 years ago, so cheering on my boys is going to be extra special!

Plaid and Pearls

There's nothing better for the holiday season than festive plaid! I loved this pattern from  J. Crew Factory so much I couldn't resist getting it in both this popover and the matching skirt (which I will be styling next week)! I styled this shirt super-casually here, in a look perfect for running errands or a quick lunch, but it could easily be dressed up with a festive metallic skirt and party ready in a jiffy! Don't you love versatile pieces?!

3

Thanksgiving Tablescapes

As we've officially entered the Holiday season, I've been hard at work planning Holiday content for y'all because this is the most wonderful (and my favorite) time of the year! So if there is anything you want to see or questions you want me to answer, let me know so I can plan it in! :)

Today I'm excited to kick off the Thanksgiving fun with my favorite Thanksgiving tablescapes. I haven't had the pleasure of hosting T-Giving yet (gotta get a bigger place first!), but it is such a special day to me and I can't wait until the day I am able to host my family! Hopefully these give you some inspiration too:

An Olivia Pope Cardigan + A WINNER!

Can we all agree that Olivia Pope without a doubt has the best wardrobe on TV? I'm obsessed with her snuggly collection of cardigans so I was stoked to find this one! The instant I saw it I thought, "Olivia would most definitely approve!" Soft, cozy, snuggly, & chic... now all I need is a glass of red wine and a record to dance to (oh, and a Presidential boyfriend ;) )
6

Old Navy Striped Tunic

How was y'alls Halloween?? I actually ended up with a low-key Halloween night (fine by me since I'm not really a fan) but spent lots of quality time with one of my besties, Katie, who's moving to Houston tomorrow. Although I'm super-bummed to be losing my partner-in-crime, I'm so excited for this next chapter for her! I'll miss you friend!!

Now onto today's look...

Weekends are the perfect time for comfort and colorful accessories, which I definitely indulged in this weekend! I picked up this Old Navy tunic a few weeks ago, and my friends, I never want to take it off- so comfy! Also, you have to love that it is long enough to wear with leggings (I sure do!) Adding a eye-catching graphic scarf was the perfect pattern-mix, and gave the whole look some visual interest.
