10 Things You Don't Know About Me!

When I asked y'all a few weeks ago what you want to see more of on the blog, I got a resounding answer of 'more personal posts'- that y'all want to know more about the girl behind the blog (me!) I try to share personal anecdotes on each post, but I love that y'all want to learn more :) And since I've seen lots of friendly new faces around this blog the last few months, it seemed like the perfect time for this post! So grab your coffee, because today I'm sharing "10 Things You Don't Know About Me".

Workweek Chic: LulaRoe Amelia Dress

Happy Tuesday friends!! Since we're all getting in the swing of a new work week, it only seemed appropriate to share a new "workweek chic" look to get you inspired for the rest of the week! Today's dress combines two of my favorite things- fun workwear & LulaRoe! I know y'all have heard me share a ton about this brand already (see recent posts here and here), so I'm excited to be able to share with you a dress that is not only perfect for the office but is also insanely comfortable (yes it's true).

This is the Amelia dress and it is so flattering on everyone! I actually have an adorably preggo girlfriend who rocks this dress like no one's business! Once again I love the length of this dress because it's conservative for the office, but the pleats are so feminine and fun! Oh and did I mention it has pockets?? #Winner :)

Hey Y'all!

"Hey Y'all" Tank: gifted from a friend (same saying here) // Skirt: Loft (old, similar with bow, similar color) // Shoes: Converse Chuck Taylors // Crossbody: Old Navy // Apple Watch // Monogram: Moon and Lola (mine is an XL)

Hey Y'all! How was everyone's weekend?? It was really nice to have a low-key weekend at home because I have a TON of travel coming up over the next two months, so this time was relaxing and much needed! Thanks for all your well-wishes for Friday night... I think they worked ;)

I've been really excited to share today's post, because it centers around this adorable "Hey Y'all" tank that was gifted to me by a dear friend! There's always a debate on whether Florida really counts as "southern" (and it's usually a 50/50 split) but I'm in the camp that definitely embraces all things southern- including my catchphrase opening line "hey y'all!" During my presidential year in Junior League, I pretty much started every speech with that phrase & it's become my identifier at work too :) When my friend Mary found this tank at a local boutique, she said that I had to have it (and I agree- thanks Mary!)

Also, I have to tell you how happy I am that I finally purchased a pair of converse! I've been wearing them with everything- from jeans, to shorts, to dresses and skirts! I seriously can't get enough of 'em. For sizing, go down at least a half size- they run really big!

Date Night Style: Zaful Bell-Sleeve Dress

Dress: c/o Zaful // Heels: Target // Watch: c/o Christian Paul

So there may be something to the theory of "If you build it they will come"...

I plan out my editorial calendar about a month in advance, so I had always planned on sharing this darling Zaful bell-sleeved dress today & chatting about date-night style (since this girl has made a comeback in the dating world!). Funny enough, I got asked out for a date #3 tonight - so fingers crossed the good karma keeps flowing :)

Now, let's chat about date-night style shall we? Nailing date-style (especially in the beginning stages of meeting someone) can be some of the hardest occasions to dress for! There's that balance of wanting to be a little "sexy" but not showing too much- y'all feel me right?! This beautiful Zaful dress definitely walks that line in all the right ways :) I love the chic plunging v-neck in the front, balanced out by the sweet bow in the back, so cute!

This was my first time shopping with Zaful (an overseas wholesale site) and I have to tell y'all I was so pleased with my experience! Shipping was fairly fast (for that distance) and my dress arrived in less than 2 weeks. The quality is great for the price (there's an extra layer of lining in the bottom half so you don't have any peek-a-boo moments) and the fit for this piece is true to size. As always, read the product details and reviews to make sure you order the right size :)

Workweek Chic: Paisley Print (On Major Sale!)

Dress: Banana Republic (on sale + an additional 40% off!) // Heels: Target // Clutch: BP via Nordstrom (just $25!) // Watch: c/o Christian Paul

Say hello to your work wardrobe's new best friend, this vibrant paisley dress! The cut of this dress is conservative enough for any workplace (add a blazer if you work in a more formal office setting), but the bright color says "take me out for drinks after-hours" :) Since this dress has a lot to say, I kept it simple with nude heels (that I can actually make it through the day in!) and a color-blocked clutch for those aforementioned drinks- because tote bags and bars don't mix!

Meet My New Favorite: LulaRoe Carly Dress

Dress: Carly Dress c/o LulaRoe Jane // Belt: Target (old, similar here & so cute!) // Clutch: BP (only $25!) // Apple Watch // Bangle: Lilly Pulitzer (similar) // Mules: Steve Madden (actually comfortable!)

I have been over-the-moon excited to bring today's post to y'all! When I find something I love, I want to shout it from the rooftops, and this Carly Dress from LulaRoe Jane is beyond a new favorite! I first introduced y'all to LulaRoe last week with a casual look, so I'm excited to also show you how "dressed up" it can be too!

The Carly is a brand new style from the brand, and it has been selling-out like crazy, & now that I have one I can totally see why! This is the perfect combination of swingy and also flattering- which gets all the praise hands in my book! :)  One of the things I love about LulaRoe is that the dresses are cut more conservatively (meaning you don't have to worry about pulling a "Britney") while also being crazy comfortable. Also, every print they design is only released in a limited number of pieces and sizes, which means for the most part you have a one-of-a-kind look!

Make sure to see my sweet and stylish friend LulaRoe Jane (she'll approve your request to join the group) if you want to snag a fab Lula piece for yourself! #LulaLove

Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale + Ali Dress!

Dress: Lilly Pulitzer Ali Dress // Sandals: Sam Edelman c/o Shopbop // Belt: Target (similar here) // Watch: c/o Christian Paul

Well this may be one of the happiest Mondays of the year- it's the Lilly Pulitzer #AfterParty sale!!  Y'all know my love for Lilly runs real deep, but my budget doesn't always match (#reallife), I these sales are a great way for me to pick up some new favorites at a great discount!! By now, y'all have probably already waited in the virtual line and picked up some goodies, but if you're still waiting your turn to shop- have patience :) For the first time ever this year, Lilly will be adding new styles on Day 2 AND doing special sales on Instastories throughout the day!

Dressing Room Diaries + Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale!

Happy Friday sweet friends! I have SO much to share with you today, so I sure hope you have your coffee in hand because we've got lots to chat about! :)

First up, I have a brand new round of dressing room diaries for y'all! I stopped into Nordstrom, Banana Republic, and Lilly Pulitzer (duh) this weekend and found so many adorable pieces! Fall clothing may be hitting the shelves, but this girl is still ALL about summer! As always, these pics are meant to help you see pieces "in real life" - when lighting isn't perfect, my makeup is waning, and I've been trying on one too many outfits :)  If you have any questions I don't answer- drop 'em in the comments below and I'll be sure to help!

Felicity & Coco Halter Shift Dress (Wearing size Medium Petite)- I absolutely loved this dress! Breezy, swing dresses are so nice for this time of year, but I really liked that it wasn't too baggy (because that can add a few pounds!). I didn't even realize that I had grabbed a petite size when I tried it on, but I thought the length was perfect, so if you are under 5'4 (like me) than you may want to consider the petite sizing! PS- This piece also come in coral and white- don't think I'm not considering it too ;)

My First Impressions of Eating Clean

As I've been sharing with y'all, for the past two weeks I've been "eating clean" and trying to improve my overall health and fitness levels.  Before taking the dive into this whole process, I really wasn't sure what to expect. A ton of my girlfriends had been doing it, and I heard bits and pieces, but I thought it would be great to share my initial thoughts and reactions with all of y'all! (And I am no nutrition expert, so these are my personal thoughts but of course always do what is right for you & your health!)

Everyday Casual in LulaRoe

Irma Top (wearing M) and Black Leggings c/o LulaRoe Mary Allison // White Converse Sneakers (size down a 1/2 size) // Kate Spade Tote (similar here) // Necklace (similar here

If your Facebook looks anything like mine, then there is probably no shortage of products and brands inundating your feed each day. So when I started seeing LulaRoe popping up I didn't pay much attention to it- what was so special? But when one of my favorite fashionista besties, Mary Allison, decided to become a stylist my ears perked up! Mary has always had incredible style, and as I saw her style LulaRoe's pieces I loved what I was seeing. Then she told me about their "buttery soft" leggings and I knew I had to try it out for myself! :)

Y'all this brand is truly incredible, and now that I've gotten my first pieces I'm hooked! I wanted a casual weekend look that I could wear running errands and still be comfortable in and my Irma Top and leggings fit the bill. A little bit about the sizing: I'm wearing a Medium in the Irma, but could have easily sized down to a Small , but I wanted more of an oversize look :) And even though I took this look extremely casual here, I think my tunic would look adorable half-tucked into denim shorts with booties for the "transition" season coming!

Currently Obsessing Over... {v. 79}

Well this couldn't be more true... it's Friday & I'm loving that! This week has been a sweet and busy one for sure. I'm one week in to "eating cleaner" and my body is slowly adjusting. I was starving the first few days (never realized how many carbs I ate & how full they made me), but as I got used to snacking more, smaller meals, and filling up on fruits & veggies, I'm feeling much better. I've even gotten in three workouts this week already - lots of accomplishment here!!

But don't worry, I haven't been too busy meal-planning to find all sorts of fab items to share with you today! :) Keep reading to see what else I'm loving this Friday!

Summer You Can Stay

Tank: J. Crew Factory (under $25!) // Shorts: Loft (extra 40% off!) // Sandals: c/o Oka-B Talia // Clutch: Mudpie (tracked it down for ya!!) // Pendant: J. Crew Factory // Apple Watch

All over Instagram and blogs, fashion influencers are wishing away these sweet summer days and dreaming of fall. Maybe I'm going against the grain, but I LOVE summer (heat, crazy humidity, and all!) and I'm pretty much in 100% support of year-round summer days! (Good thing I live in Florida right??)

Y'all know I love my bright colors and vibrant prints, so summer is my jam! Today I thought it would be fun to mix together some of my favorite shades- turquoise, pink & yellow- in a quintessential summer look. These linen peplum tanks are my very favorite (and currently under $25!) and are perfect and lightweight for this heat. My Oka-B sandals tie it all together perfectly (if I do say so myself!) :)

Workweek Chic: Yellow Gingham

Top: Ann Taylor (Shop more gingham favorite below) // Pants: Gap // Flats: Tory Burch c/o Shopbop // Apple Watch

Happy Tuesday! I'm so excited to be back today with another edition of "Workweek Chic"- today showing y'all this darling gingham top & how to make it work appropriate! (It may be one of my favorite pieces in my closet)!

Now I have to be honest: I am a bargain hunter most of this time, so I waited until this top was on super-sale before scooping it up (which means it is now sold out- boo!)  However, I have seen it popping up at some of my local AT stores, and you can always scope out Ebay or Poshmark :)  In the meantime, let's chat styling tips!

Beach Hair, Don't Care

Dress: Blue Door Boutique "Charmer Lace Up" Dress (also love this and this) // Hat: Seaside Boutique (love this and this) // Apple Watch (not waterproof- so don't dunk it in the ocean!)

Normally the Monday blues don't hit me very hard (I usually wake up ready to take the bull by the horns) but this weekend was to relaxing and refreshing that I'm just wishing I had more time to savor that loveliness! I was able to have a fun girl's night with some sweet friends I hadn't seen in awhile,  take a high-intensity Zumba class, head to my new church (which I love SO much!) and got a surprise lunch date with my family. So much goodness packed into 2 days, and plenty of time to rest  as well (#muchneeded). But alas, here we are starting a new week- let the fun begin!

Currently Obsessing Over... {v. 78}

Happy Fri-YAY y'all! With my mid-week trip to NYC this week certainly zoomed by! I actually have a very easy weekend on the horizon, which is needed after back to back trips and lots of packed weekends coming up. I probably say this far too often but I really can't believe how fast this year is flying by!

So, let's dive right in to my favorites of the week!
8

Elephant Shorts

V-Neck Tee: Gap (my favorite!) // Shorts: Crown & Ivy (in turquoise and navy here) // Necklace: Kendra Scott // Sandals: Sam Edelman // Apple Watch

I am such a sucker for preppy & feminine details, so when I came across these elephant shorts with a scalloped hem, you know I was all kinds of heart-eyed! These shorts have some serious stretch in them, which makes them perfect for your go-to weekend pair (and eating #allthefood). Since my tee is a little long, I decided to wear it half-tucked with no-fuss sandals and an easy necklace for a look that will take you through all your Saturday activities! Soccer game? Check. Grocery? Check. Seriously... you can tackle it all :)

Southern Summer

Dress: Banana Republic (other color way) // Wedges: Banana Republic (old, similar) // Apple Watch

The title of this post is a little ironic, because I took these photos on my trip to Wisconsin, but to me this dress is a quintessential southern summer look! Unfortunately I wasn't able to get this look up quickly enough before the dress sold out, but I have seen it at my local Banana Republic (on major sale) and popping back in on the website- so stay tuned if you love it as much as I do :)

So what makes a dress "southern summer" appropriate? For me, it's all in the ladylike details! From the delicate ruffled "vee", to the fitted bodice, to the flared midi hem- this dress brings me back to the days of grace and simplicity (all things I associate with the south)! And perhaps, most importantly, it's cool enough to handle this intense summer heat! What is your quintessential summer dress?

Patchwork

Top: Collective Concepts // Jeans: Loft (my favorite jeans!) // Apple Watch // Clutch: Sophie and Trey (similar) // Wedges: Tory Burch

Umm, y'all, we are in AUGUST?! How in the world did that happen?? I'm only mildly freaking out over here! #NotReadyforIt . On top of the bummer that the year is truly over half-over, I'm coming back from the best girls weekend and missing the sun & sand like crazy! If you follow along on Insta or Snap (username: girlmeetsbow for both) then you saw we were having the best time ever! I feel extremely blessed that my college roomies and I are the best of friends and have built such an enduring, strong friendship. Our weekend was full of so much laughter and shenanigans :)
