Workweek Chic: Rule Breaker

Elsa Top: Lilly Pulitzer (Same colors here) // Pants: Gap // Necklace: Kendra Scott Rayne // Apple Watch // Wedges: Tory Burch Salley 2 // Tote: Tory Burch York Tote (same bag in leather)

Never one to shy away from color in the workplace, this cheeky Elsa Top (aptly named "Rulebreakers") most definitely adds more fun to my weekly rotation! If you look closely there are all sorts of rules bring broken on this top! ;) Something about wearing these bright colors makes Mondays seem not-so-Mundane and Tuesdays seem no-so-Terrible!

Currently Obsessing Over... {v. 71}

I don't know if you could have missed the exciting news, but Nordstrom is having their Half-Yearly sale and it is a WINNER! There are seriously so many fabulous finds (but warning: they are going fast!) To make it easier for y'all to shop, I've rounded up all my favorites that I'm currently obsessing over (and letting you in on what I've already scooped up!)

Have you picked up anything yet? Do tell... :)

Have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend! I have a bestie coming into town and we have some fun parties to attend so make sure to keep up with the party on social media (all my handles are @GirlMeetsBow)! See you Monday!

Simple Stripes

Chambray: Loft Outlet (almost exact) // Skirt: Loft (40% off!) // Sandals: Gap (40% off with code "HAPPY") // Necklace: Kendra Scott Rayne

Wow y'all, this week is flying by! I can't believe it's already Thursday! If you follow me on Snap or Insta (@girlmeetsbow) then you know my sweet sis graduated from High School yesterday! It's hard to believe that this girl I helped bring home from the hospital and fed bottles to is graduated and will be headed off to the University of Florida! I loved being home to celebrate this momentous time with her and am so proud of being her big sister! #SappyStatus

On to today's outfit (which I'm jumping out of my chair to share with y'all)- it was love at first sight! You know I love versatile pieces, and this skirt can be worn so many ways it's crazy! I've already worn it twice (#nojudgement) and have more ideas on tap. Today I decided to pair it with my trusty chambray, the best item in my wardrobe, and easy summer sandals. Random, but I haven't worn a pair of true flip-flops in years, but these were calling my name the other and I'm kind of obsessed! The comfort level is off the richter scale! All together, this look is easy, weekend perfect (can you tell I'm craving Friday?)

PS- Everything at Loft is 40% (no code needed)- so if you've got your eye on something (like today's skirt) now is the time to pull the trigger!

The Best Summer Cover-Ups Under $100

I always love getting reader requests (it's so fun to help y'all solve problems and find what you're looking for) and recently I was asked to find swim cover-ups under $100! I figured everyone wants to find a bargain, especially with summer right around the corner, so today I'm sharing my finds!

Tell me, which one is your favorite?

PS- Today is my first product college using Photoshop!! I taught myself last night while watching the Bachelorette :) Although I still have some learning to do, I'm pretty proud of myself and can already see a huge improvement in image quality!! Ekkk!

**Exciting Edit: Use code "BRTAKE40" to get an additional 40% off your purchase today!**

Happy Monday y'all! What better way to start off a work week than with a brand new "Workweek Chic" look?! I'm head over heels for these floral Sloan pants (they fit like a dream on your curves) and adding this jazzy embellished sweater just makes it FUN to get dressed for the office! And really, when you're headed back to work after the weekend, you have to dress for fun!

This weekend was a fun one, but it was also a lot of learning on the blog front (which I'm so excited about!) I'm really pumped that with all my new-found free time I'm able to devote myself to learning more editing skills & making this sweet lil space not only fun, but also high-quality for y'all! So this weekend I purchased Lightroom and Photoshop so that I can continue to improve the quality of the images you see here. Eek! It's quite the learning curve but I am so excited to "up the ante" and grow this brand that I'm so passionate about!! Any tips?? Let this gal know! (PS- I found this post incredibly helpful in learning editing tips!)

Sunday Scripture

I am so excited for the return of "Sunday Scripture" this morning. To be honest, with my crazy travel schedule and commitments the past few weeks, I've been very distant from the Lord- lacking in quiet time and moments to soak in His message. But this week I've re-invigorated myself by diving back into His word and getting my "groove" back.

And that's the amazing and beautiful thing about the Lord- His grace knows no limits. Even though my heart was distant and pushing him to the bottom of my priorities, He waited patiently for me. He knew that I was coming back to Him. He knew just what my heart would be aching for and needing in time with Him. And he gives me so much grace to cover it all.

I was so inspired by the verse above that it stopped me in my tracks! I absolutely love the blog, Sweet Blessings, for her precious printables and verses that somehow always hit me with whatever I am going through at the moment. The Lord always finds ways to reach us (even through blogs!) just when we need it :)

Happy Sunday friends and have a fabulous week!

Dressing Room Diaries

Happy Friday y'all! Instead of my usual "Currently Obsessing Over" post we're going to so a little something different today- a dressing room diary! I haven't done one of these in forever and last Friday I actually has a bit of free time to peruse the mall (what a luxury!) and try one some pieces to share with y'all!

What you will see here isn't perfectly styled or beautifully lit, it's just an average girl in a dressing room :) I hope that it helps you get a feel for how these items look "in real life" and it will help you in making a decision on whether to add these to your closet :) I'll be giving my real and honest opinions, but if you have any additional questions please feel free to leave them in the comments or email me! I love chatting all things fashion!

Beach Days

Tee Shirt: Old Navy (similar here) // Shorts: Loft (similar here and here) // Flats: c/o Oka-B Astera (Get 20% off with code "OKABGIRL16") // Cross-body: Danielle Nicole (same shape but bigger size)

A few weeks ago my Aunt, Uncle, cousin, & grandma came to stay at Madiera Beach which is right down the road for me; since I was actually free that weekend I was able to hop over and visit! While I was there I was able to catch an absolutely gorgeous sunset #FloridaPerks

I've had this tee and shorts forever (in fact I styled them forever ago on the blog) but adding coral color pops in my bag and flats made this outfit feel fresh and new! And since my Oka-B flats are totally washable and waterproof- they are the perfect companions for the beach :)

Eyelet Lace Babydoll Dress + Weekender GIVEAWAY!

Dress: Wyatt via Bluefly (on sale for under $35!) // Heels: Target // Apple Watch

I shared this dress a few weeks ago during my Currently Obsessing Over post and I wanted to circle back and show you what it looked like "in real life". I have to tell y'all I'm totally a fan! I love a good swingy, loose dress and this one fits the bill perfectly (without making you lose your shape!) It's also a really high quality material- much more than I expected- so that's a great surprise! I went simple when accessorizing so that the shape of the dress took center stage, and the results are the perfectly easy look I love. Bonus: this dress is now on sale for under $35! (So jelly!)

I'm also thrilled today to bring you an AMAZING giveaway for the Carolina Dandy weekender that I adore! Details on how to enter at the end of the post :)

A Non-Tech Girl's Review of the Apple Watch

Happy Monday y'all! I've been getting a lot of questions on social media since getting my Apple watch a month ago about my thoughts on it, and how I like it vs. my Fitbit; so I thought this would be the perfect topic for a blog post! Since I'm definitely not a technology queen this is going to be an "average girl's guide" of sorts- written in language that's easy to understand. So let's get to it shall we?!

To lay the groundwork: I had a Fitbit Charge HR for a little over a year before making the decision to switch over to the Apple Watch (I chose the 42mm Sport Gold Aluminum with a Navy band). My reasoning was pretty simple- I was ready for a new Fitbit & decided that the Apple watch looked more professional (while having the same functionality). I was definitely worried at first about whether I made the right decision, but (spoiler alert!) I sure think that I did and here is why...

Currently Obsessing Over... {v. 70}

Another week spent dreaming of the weekend- so glad that it is finally here! After traveling for over a week my apartment/life were kind of a hot mess so I spent this week getting it all in order again. Although cleaning is never my favorite task, it is so nice to have my life in order and my home reflecting that. Ahhh... now it's time to have some fun!

My family is coming to St Pete to visit me this weekend and I can't wait to see them! We're celebrating (belatedly) my dad's birthday and mother's day and I've planned out our whole itinerary to show them the city I've grown to adore! It's going to be fun!

Now here is what (few) things made it on my radar this week...

A First-Timer's Guide to Key West

As I'm sure y'all know (you couldn't miss it on Instagram!) I spent the past weekend with two of my best girlfriends from high school in Key West! Although we are all Florida girls, this was our first time in the Keys- and boy was there a lot to learn! We packed a lot into our three days, so I thought it would be helpful to share our tips, favorite activities, and places with y'all too!

Workweek Chic: Lavender Peplum + iTunes GIVEAWAY!

Peplum Top: Banana Republic (on sale! Runs big, size down) // Pants: Gap (old, these are super similar) // Wedges: J. Crew Factory // Necklace: Jordan Emmitt // Apple Watch

Lately dressing for work has been so much more fun! I don't know if it's the gorgeous Spring weather (oh bright colors I love you so...) or a re-newed career drive that's making me want to up the ante on my look (dress for the job you want, right?) but there are no workweek blues here!

It may also help that lately Banana Republic has been bringing their A-game and I can't get enough! I've raved about this peplum top so much, it's time that I shared it with y'all :) And lucky for you it's now on major sale! In fact... I love it so much I picked it up in white! Fit tip: It does run big, so size down and you'll need to wear a tank top under for work as the back is sheer. Happy work week wearing!

Picnic Ready Style + A GIVEAWAY!

Hey y'all! I'm so excited to share that I am now an ambassador for Oka-B (shoes I absolutely LOVE) and am featured on their blog with this look! Hop on over to read the full post, and scroll down to the bottom of this post for an AMAZING giveaway!! :)

Happy Cinco De Mayo!

Dress: Target // Sandals: Target // Apple Watch

Happy Cinco de Mayo y'all!! I always love this holiday because it's a little bit random, a whole lotta bright, & even more fun! Who doesn't love a day that involves celebrating by eating tacos and drinking tequila?! #PartyTime

For my celebratory outfit, I thought this striped off the shoulder dress was perfect! It's the lightest weight material and so fun! I saw it online back in February and it sold out instantly- leaving me nothing to do but stalk it for the next two months until it came back in stock ;) I'm so happy I snagged it and am already excited to wear it again!

How to Pack for Key West in a Carry-On

Weekender: c/o Carolina Dandy

Confession: I am a chronic over-packer. Going on a trip for 3 days? Pack 15 outfits. (A girl needs options!) I always have way too many pairs of shoes, and a whole lot of clothing that doesn't see the light of day! So, for my trip to Key West I decided that it was time to change my ways and pack for the trip in just a carry-on. Considering we will be in bathing suits, sundresses, and sandals the whole time, it didn't seem necessary to pack all that other "stuff" that often finds its way into my luggage. So, with my goal in mind I came up with the following five tips to help streamline my packing!

Tropical Style

As I mentioned on Friday, I'm headed to Key West this weekend with two of my besties and I could not be MORE excited to start sipping margaritas and singing along to the tropical jams! It's actually Songwriter's Festival this weekend & is supposed to be one of the busiest weekends of the year on the island! I'm so excited to hear the talent behind some of today's biggest stars; plus, rumor has it Jimmy Buffet often pops in this weekend (Fun Fact: my dad's a huge parrot head and the first concert my dad took me to was Jimmy Buffet)- no needless to say I would be pumped to see him!
