Junior League Annual Conference Recap #jlac14

I apologize in advance- there are a LOT of pictures in this post! But I can't resist sharing all the fun that was had in St. Louis at the Junior League Annual Conference!

If you aren't familiar with Junior League, it is one of the largest women's non-profits in the world- there are literally leagues is just about every city in the US and we are in 4 international countries. Each League has their own focus area/specific issues that they tackle (in St Petersburg we tackle School Readiness) through community service projects and fundraising. It also is phenomenal for learning leadership skills that you might never have gained otherwise. I absolutely encourage all ladies out there to look into the League in your area- you won't regret it! :)

Alright... off my soapbox! ha! Now onto the pictures from the weekend...

This is Tuesdi (our president) and I on the very first morning. We were so excited to be at the conference and learning so many new ideas!

Wear Pink and Make the Boys Wink

I love all the fun #LillySaid phrases that have been trending as of late- that Lilly Pulitzer sure was a woman of wisdom! This is without a doubt one of the cutest floating around: "Wear pink and make to boys wink!" Well Lilly, you don't have to tell me twice- it's always been my favorite color :)

Travel in Style

I feel like lately I have been packing up my suitcase more than unpacking it- I seem to be off on another trip every time I turn around! It's fun jetting around the country to celebrate bachelorettes, weddings, birthdays and annual conferences- but it has sure shown me the need to travel in style (and comfort)! I love slouchy, comfortable pieces that pull you together and allow you to arrive looking chic. What is your go-to travel style?

Why Thank You

When I put this outfit on, I really didn't think that it was anything special. It seemed pretty simple- a shirtdress and flats... no brainer right? Well I kid you not when I say I was stopped throughout the day by folks telling me how much they loved this look. There was even a kind gentleman who said "you look like spring"! Wearing pink certainly puts some pep in my step- and I guess it brightens other's days too! :)

What I'm Loving Lately: Curly Girl Designs

I love giving personalized and thoughtful gifts that show the recipient that you took the time to really think about their hearts. My latest obsession is Curly Girl Designs because she creates the absolute sweetest and most sentimental gifts (that aren't cheesy)!

Recently I picked out special magnets for each of my Development Council Chairs in Junior League to thank them for their leadership this past year. It was so much fun finding the perfect phrases for each of them!

Below is a sampling of a few of my favorites, but there are far too many to show you them all below- so check her out online! :)

THIS JUST IN: Curly Girl is having a SALE - this is your chance to be inspired at a fraction of the price :)

Happy Friday- we've got a long weekend ahead of us and I couldn't be happier!

NOTE: This post wasn't sponsored- I just love Curly Girl and wanted to share them with you!

#SummerInLilly

Well Florida sure didn't hesitate to head into summer weather- it's been in the 90's almost every day! But looking at the bright side... that means it's time to bring out your Lilly in full force! (There is always a positive right?!)

I got this cheerful tunic top for my birthday and I am totally in love. I feel like I look about 8 shades tanner just from putting these bright colors on! ha! I also scooped up these neon Jack Rogers for a steal a few weeks ago when I got in on the Living Social/Last Call NM mega-deal ($20 for Jacks is ah-mazing)! I have a feeling you will be seeing a lot more of these cuties! And hello- this gold clutch is total perfection! Adding a fun accessory like this totally glams up my casual look. It's impossible to have a bad day when you're wearing an outfit this happy!

Red, White, and You

I just love a good red, white, and blue outfit. Toss in a few anchors and I'm in love! This Memorial Day I'm going to be all about looking chic while staying comfortable and this look is just that. I can't wait for relaxation and time to spend with friends (and catching up on my life!) Do you have any fun plans?

Again and Again

I have an irrational fear of being an outfit repeater- I am always paranoid that someone will call me out for wearing a look more than once in a short period of time (crazy I know). Thus, I'm constantly being asked if something is new because it has been so long since I wore it! But this dress may have helped me to overcome that fear because I cannot stop wearing it! It's no exaggeration that I have worn this dress 4 times in the past 2 weeks! I have never found an article of clothing that I love wearing more- it's insanely comfortable (made out of sweatshirt material) and the vibrant color combination is my absolute favorite. Don't be surprised if I pull it out of my closet again this week!

Worth Revisiting

This dress hit the blogsphere hard last year- seriously it was everywhere! With summer approaching quickly (and my shopping freeze still happening) i've been pulling out some old favorites- and this one definitely still tops the list! Sometimes oldies ARE goodies!

Pink and White Chevron

Oh Happy Day!! Today marks my 100th post on Girl Meets Bow! How much fun I am having in this little space on the internet! Thank you for reading along and adding big bows to your life with me! :)

On to regularly scheduled programming... :)

Last Monday I threw a Cinco de Mayo party for my sweet Development Council girls in the Junior League- it was a fun night of celebrating all we accomplished this year! Well in this H-O-T Florida weather (it's been hitting in the mid-90's already!) I knew I had wear something light and airy so I wouldn't fall over from heat-stroke! This outfit was the perfect solution- it was bright and fun for a backyard party, but let me stay cool doing all the party prep. Plus who doesn't love copious amounts of pink? ha!

Shop with a Purpose

I think it is no secret if you are a reader of this blog, that I love to shop. I shop for fun, for relaxation, to bond with my girlfriends, and for stress relief. But my absolute favorite way to shop is with a purpose. By that I mean that I love buying products that give back to worthwhile causes and support the greater good.

Here are a few products I am loving that give back to some amazing organizations:

Benevolent Jewels is a new jewelry shop I learned about recently and I am already a fan! Every three months they pick a new nonprofit to give 20% of their proceeds to. Currently they are working with +Works, an anti-bullying organization (how amazing is that)?!

Pink Petals Statement Necklace

TOMS is one of the originators for our generation of product  purchases that give back. For every pair of shoes you buy TOMS will donate a pair to a child in need around the world. 1 for 1- what an amazing ratio!
TOMS Navy Sailboat Women's Classics
One Hope Wine associates each type of wine with a different cause- so you can choose your wine and your cause! I love a relaxing glass of wine, and with One Hope every bottle you enjoy helps change a life- now that is something to say "cheers" to!

One Hope Chardonnay- fights breast cancer

These are just a few of the produce I am loving now that give back! Would you like to see more products with this philosophy? Let me know! And remember sweet friends: "Giving is always in style"!

A Tracy a Day {Datin'}

Today is the final day of my "A Tracy a Day" series and it's everyone's favorite occasion- date night! Tracy's tongue and cheek dresses are perfect for a date night with that special someone! I like to think that when a wear this dress my date can't help but fall in love with me "hook, line and sinker"- ha!

If I haven't mentioned it before, Tracy's dresses are the most comfortable I have ever worn! I also love that they can be dressed up or down with a change of footwear and accessories. Adding wedges to this dress makes it appropriate for a date (like at my favorite restaurant The Columbia) but swap it out for your Jacks and you have a perfect dress for shopping with your friends!

A Tracy a Day {Strollin'}

Welcome to Day 2 of my "A Tracy a Day" series. What I love most about statement maxi dresses is that everything else can stay super simple so that the focus stays on your dress- which makes getting ready a breeze! This simple and easy look is then perfect strolling around town and wandering down to the beach. I am OBSESSED with the bright jewel tones in this dress- they are just gorgeous! Lucky for you Tracy brought back this popular style dress this season! Do you love statement maxis as much as I do?

A Tracy a Day {Brunchin'}

As you may know by now, I am a HUGE fan of the incredibly talented Tracy Negoshian and her easy-breezy dresses. I thought it would be a fun little series to show some different occasions that her fabulous dresses are perfect for (i.e.: everything)! After all... a Tracy a day keeps the Fashion Police away :)

Today's dress would be perfect for Sunday brunch with your girlfriends at a chic beachside restaurant. The ruffle on the sleeves adds the perfect touch of sass while the fun pattern can't help but make you smile! Throw on your favorite Jacks and you are beachside beautiful!

Deep Freeze

Friends, there has been a lot of self-reflection going on over here lately. As I think about how much time and energy I spend shopping (totally for pleasure on clothes, purses, jewelry) I am really convicted by the thought of how much my energy is wasted on something fleeting when it could be poured into a meaningful project.

So I have decided to take a 30 day "Deep Freeze" from shopping to refocus my priorities. I know I am a girl that loves to shop and that is never going to change- but I don't want to be so consumed by the need to "have" that I turn my view from the beautiful around me. I'm also excited for the challenge of shopping my closet- I can't wait to show you how I mix and match my favorites in new ways!

I hope you enjoy going on this journey with me- I'm a little scared of how much my willpower will be tested- but I look forward to growing and learning to really appreciate all the blessings that fill my life!

Can't Get Enough

Two guesses what this nautical girl can't get enough of... that's right- ANCHORS! They are absolutely everywhere this season and I am officially addicted! There's no piece of clothing that doesn't look great wrapped in this nautical staple. When I tucked this tee into my bow shorts- I almost clapped... all my favorite things in one outfit! :)
