Currently Obsessing Over…{v.22}

This has been the best week y'all! I'd been struggling to find time to workout (I typically have Junior League meetings 3-4 nights a week so night time workouts are pretty impossible) so this week I committed to getting up for 5:30am workouts and it has been a complete change of routine (for the best)! It has made such a difference in my day! I love that now I go into work with a huge "to do" crossed off my list, plus it is freeing up so much time for me in the evenings! It's a complete win win! :) How do y'all fit working out into your routine?

With this positive outlook in mind, here are the other things making me smile this week...

Today I'm giving you some ideas for what to wear on a casual "date" night (whether with your Valentine or your Galentines!) This look would be perfect for a movie, picnic, or cooking dinner at home. I think it's no surprise that it incorporates my all-time favorite Elsa-style top! If I could wear an Elsa top ever day I wouldn't be sad about it ;) These are the absolute best tops and I love that there are endless style possibilities- there is no wrong way to wear them!

These goodies would definitely make me swoon! Feel free to pass on these ideas to your Cupid ;) {Click on any of the products to shop directly}

Valentine's Lookbook: Dressy Date

Friends, I sure do love love! There's no more cheerful and "aww" inducing holiday than Valentine's Day- and I just adore it! I love the pink (duh!) and red, the hearts, the candy, and all of the cheesy hoopla that goes along with it! So, in the spirit of my second favorite holiday of the year (behind Christmas/Thanksgiving of course) this week is going to focus on Valentine's day! So whether you are single or taken, I'm going to make sure you have the best celebration yet (and win best dressed!) Are you ready for the fun????

Today I'm sharing my look for a "dressy date". Whether it be for your Valentine or your Gal-entines, it sure is fun to get dolled up and put on your heels to celebrate love in all its forms :) I've had this Loft leopard dress on my lust list forever, so when it finally went on sale + an extra 50% off I knew it was the time to make it mine! Then add in my fave holiday and you have the perfect occasion to pull it out! I added some fun pearls and classic black pumps to complete this party perfect look. Love is in the air y'all! Rawwwwrrrr!! ha! (PS- Can we talk about how much I need a tan?? #Floridafail)

Checking In

Hi friends!! Just wanted to stop by and say a quick hello! I had grand plans for working on the blog while I am away at Junior League Winter Leadership conference but our internet is spotty (read: no signal) and I can't get on for more than 5 minutes at a time! I will have some great new content next week, so check back in on Monday! (There may even be a HUGE giveaway coming soon)!! :) xo

This is what I look like when I can't work on the blog! Ha!

I Saw the Sign

I don't mean to sound like a broken record y'all- but I heart The Mint Julep Boutique and this precious cardigan from them! You know I am such a sucker for navy (more than a quarter of my wardrobe is comprised of this shade) and add some coral and green into the mix and I am one happy girl! I knew I could have taken the traditional route in styling this cardi by pairing it with jeans and a tee, but I decided to up my ante by pairing it with my go-to J. Crew Factory skirt and boots. I like to think of this look as elevated weekend-casusal or casual Friday (depending on where you work)!

Pinteresting: Bookshelf Inspiration

I have completely outgrown my current bookshelf (#totalbookworm) and am on the hunt for some ideas for both new bookshelves to invest in as well as ideas on how to decorate it once I pick one out. I also have to be conscious of space because my apartment doesn't have that much room for a major bookshelf installment at the moment. So, I took to Pinterest for some ideas and have shared a few on my favorites below. (PS- you can follow me on Pinterest here)

Let the ideas begin:

I love the wallpaper background on these shelves- think they add such a fun and whimsical touch! I also love the addition of the bright pink baskets and blue bookends used as decorations on the top of the shelf.

I love that this bookshelf is filled with just books! I know that sounds rather silly, but with as many books as I have, it's nice to see that there is a stylish design that is just based on books being books :)

Sunday Scripture

I hope y'all have been having the best weekend! I've been enjoying this gorgeous weather and soaking up some time to catch-up on my personal life (does that make me sounds like a boring adult… #oopstruthisout).

I really love this verse, and think that it is kind of a "mantra" for me for the new year. Our attitude is such a powerful thing, and it really can be a light for others who need it most. Have you ever been around someone who is so positive that they draw people in and make those around them happier? I believe that we are called to be that kind of positive light to those around us. Now I know this isn't always easy, because there are some days when I most definitely am not feeling bright, but "being the light" is a daily goal I strive for.

How do you share the light each day?

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend friends!

Currently Obsessing Over... {v. 21} + A GIVEAWAY!

quote of the month from this girl means business #12 | designed by half asleep studio.

Can I just say that I am ready for the weekend?! I'm pretty dang excited to sleep. Really, that's going to be the highlight of my weekend… sleeping! zzzzzzzz… While I'm getting ready for some sweet dreams, here are the things that I am dreaming of in real life (otherwise known as my current favorites)! Make sure you read until the end… because there's an exciting surprise for you too!

1. I was SO EXCITED to be featured on the Southern Blog Society this week for my plaid fall look! I joined the SBS this summer and have found it to be a tremendous resource to network with other bloggers as well as learn tips and tricks to make Girl Meets Bow the best it can be! If you are a Southern Blogger you should definitely check these awesome ladies out! (They also recently launched the Southwest Blog Society for those of you across the country.) Many thanks to them for the love :)

Pattern Mixing: Camo & Stripes

There is nothing I love more than a good case of pattern mixing- and if you're from the south then you know that camo is as much of a neutral as leopard is! :) Today's look is just so fun and comfortable I can't help but adore it. It's perfect for those days when your to-do list is a mile long and you know you'll be running around town all day!

Sorry to keep it short and sweet today, I've been staying up a little to late (and then getting up wayyy to early) working on some projects for Junior League and getting things organized for next year. No sleep + Gentry = a not very wordy girl! I think I'm going to need an IV drip of caffeine to get me through the next few days!

The Great Planner Debate

If you are like 98% of Americans, then your New Year's Resolutions probably included something like this, "In 2015 I will be more organized." Am I right?! Well, if so it's great to know you are not alone :)

I believe that the foundation for organization is a well-functioning planner- and that can mean a little something different for everyone. Starting in December, as I began researching my 2015 planner, I got into what I like to call the "great planner debate"- right up there with the presidential ones I think! ha! It's both a blessing and a curse that there are so many great planners out on the market now, because it gives you tons of choices but can also be rather overwhelming! I thought today I would share with you a few of the planners that were my contenders for 2015, and then which one I picked! Hopefully this helps you find a planner that is perfect for you!

1. Lilly Pulitzer Large Agenda (18 months)- I'm just going to be honest… I hate 18 month planners! I never want to keep mine that long, I'm a yearly girl, so I feel like 6 months are always wasted. I used a Lilly planner throughout college and loved it!  However, with my crazy "to-do" lists now, between Junior League, the blog, and my personal life I found that there were starting to be more post-it's on my week than appointments and I could barely see my week! Verdict: I think this planner is much better suited for a student than a young professional, although it's one of the cutest on the market.

Golden Globe Fashion Favorites

I don't know about you but I love awards season far more for the fashion than for the actual awards! There is nothing like the red carpet to inspire me to add a little more pizzaz (and feathers, sequins, and sparkle) to my everyday look! Although I didn't think there were any real misses on Sunday's carpet, there were definitely a few looks that made me swoon:

Emma Stone in Lanvin (that bow… I. Can't. Even)

Native Lands

I know that I've shared The Mint Julep Boutique with y'all before (and how much I adore them), and before Thanksgiving they offered 50% off the entire site, and this shopaholic couldn't resist that bait! I picked up two aztec cardigans that I'd been stalking in my wish list and I'm excited to share this one with you today! I had to wait to style them until Florida actually got the winter memo, but now that it's chilly I can justify sharing some sweaters ;) This cardigan is actually really thick (like I'm so toasty warm in it y'all!) but it makes for a perfect winter piece to bundle up in!

Also, I'm sorry that you've seen these pants about 10506735928 times- but if I could live in them I would! I even scooped up a second black pair during the After-Party Sale because I was so scared something would happen to my first pair! They are really that good!

Currently Obsessing Over… {v. 20}

I thought this quote was perfect for one of the first Friday's of a new year! This graphic was such a great reminder to me that if I want to see change in my life, than I'm going to have to do things differently- because isn't the definition of madness doing the same thing and expecting different results?!

On another note, I have so much fun with these Friday posts because I love being able to round up all of my current favorites to share with you! I come across so many great products/ideas/inspirations everyday and I love having an outlet to share them :) Sometimes not everything I see has enough content for a full post so I love giving you little tidbits as I discover them. I have come seriously cute goodies rounded up for you this week! So without further ado...

Plaid Attitude

This season it seems like plaid is everywhere (especially on the ever-prevalent blanket scarf that has taken over instagram)! Well I love to put a twist on things, so when I saw this tunic I was all too excited to say "yes yes yes" to adding it to my closet! Although this is a classic plaid pattern, the playful ruffle collar and tunic length make this perfect for the office or a fun afternoon. And funny story… I wore this outfit to my Junior League Board of Directors Christmas party and my President showed up wearing the same thing! (#greatminds #twinning)

#LillyforTarget + C.Wonder Store Closing Sale

Well friends, pretty much the biggest news EVER hit the internet last night... Target's newest designer collaboration will be none other than my favorite, Lilly Pulitzer!! (Cue the squealing and "OMG OMG OMG"!!) The line launches April 19th and if my instincts are right, won't last longer than an hour!

Lilly created 250 items for the line & 15 exlusive prints and items will range from $2-$150, covering everything from clothing/shoes/accessories for girls and women to home decor, entertaining, and outdoor decor. (You can read more about it here). You can follow along on Instagram @lillyfortarget too! Here are a few preview shots from their insta page that I am drooling over (I. Can't. Even):

A Colorful Winter Scarf

Call it the Lilly Pulitzer effect, but there is no outfit that that I don't think a healthy dose of pink and green will compliment! I love wearing this scarf because it reminds me of the fun trip I took to New York with my sister this summer. She and I both fell in love with the bright and colorful scarves being sold by one of the numerous street vendors, and we couldn't resist picking up a few! The colors in this one are so cheerful that I can't not smile when wearing it. I love that this is a souvenir that I can wear/use all the time. What's your favorite souvenir that you've ever gotten?
