Jumpsuit for the Office

I don't know about y'all, but sometimes I get super bored wearing the same old, same old to the office. There are just some weeks where I get into a rut getting dressed and it takes a piece like this bold jumpsuit to kick me out of it! I'm lucky I work in a fashion office where no one looks at me sideways for rocking a jumpsuit, but I do love that this one is still conservative enough to feel professional for popping into meetings with our vendors. If you don't feel comfortable baring your shoulders, you can always add a cardigan (plus that helps ward off the inevitable office AC chill)! How do you get yourself out of a dressing rut?

Festive for the 4th!

Any of my friends can tell you, I love a good color theme! No matter how hard you try you can't get me into a costume (I know, weird, but i hate 'em), but give me a good set of colors to dress in and I am 100% on board! That's one of the reasons I love the 4th of July so much- it incorporates the colors I already adore, red & white & blue, plus I get to celebrate the country I love!

When Tipsy Elves wanted to collaborate on a fun 4th of July look I was so in! If you haven't heard of Tipsy Elves you'll have to take a look at all of their fun holiday apparel. They started with an "ugly christmas sweater" collection and then after a successful experience on Shark Tank expanded to cover all the fun holidays throughout the year!

Tell me: what are you planning to wear this weekend?

Loft Full Bloom Romper

This romper has been "mine" since the minute I saw it in Loft's preview catalogue a month before it was released! I rushed to the store and asked it's release date and on June 1st I hightailed it over to the Loft to make this baby mine (for realz) :) It was worth the hustle- because I'm all heart-eyed emoji over it! It is seriously so versatile! I've already worn it out with wedges and an arm party and today I'm styling it as a casual weekend look. Trust me, this piece is completely worth the drama!

Crop Top Two Ways + Kate Spade Giveaway!!

One Crop Top Two Way

One of the hottest trends this season has to be a crop top- they are everywhere! If you're anything like me you may not be comfortable with the idea of your belly showing, so today I've tackled two ways to style a crop top that will keep you covered and confident! Tell me… would you rock either of these looks?

Enjoy the Ride

You know, lately I've been thinking that it's all too easy to get caught up in the negative of the world. It can be easy to get dragged into the muck and let hard experiences get you down. Take this weekend for example, I had a great weekend home celebrating one of my best girls and my awesome dad, but on the way home I found out my debit card number had been stolen and my account was frozen while they investigated the fraud and are sending me a new card. And if this hasn't happened to you, let me just tell y'all it's a colossal pain in the booty!! I do all my banking and bill pays through my debit card online and I'm going to have to update everything- uuggghhh! It would be easy to go into a funk. It would be easy to be a crabby-pants about it. But instead I'm choosing to find the good! I'm relishing in 7-10 days (however long it takes to get my new card to me- ha!) in which I can't shop, so I'm embracing what I have. I'm taking Buddy on extra-long walks & taking myself on extra-long runs. I'm enjoying extra time with friends. And you know what? It feels good! Great even!

I always like to keep in mind one of my favorite quotes, "Life is like riding a bicycle, in order to keep your balance you have to keep moving forward."

So embrace the forward motion y'all (and the crazy) and keep on trucking :)

"Press For Champagne" watercolor print.

Happy day y'all! What do you have on your radar for this weekend? Our Junior League provisional members have their bus tour of the city on Saturday morning (where we go around town on this huge pink bus and visit past and present Junior League projects) and I'm so excited for the ladies to see the deep roots we have in our city! Then I'm headed home to O-Town to celebrate my bestie Jen's birthday with a 90's theme extravaganza!! And to top it all off I get to celebrate Father's Day with my sweet family! I'm so excited for such a fun weekend :)

An Ode to Palazzo Pants...

Palazzo pants, how do I love you? Let me count the ways…

1) You look fabulous while I feel like I'm wearing pajamas in public
2) I can dress you up with wedges or down with sandals
3) No matter how fluffy I'm feeling- you hide it all!
4) You have an elastic waist… and somedays a girl just needs one!

Clearly I wasn't a poetry major y'all! ha! But my love for palazzo pants is real & deep :) Seriously… getcha a pair asap!

Vacation Time!

Although I work in the corporate world & summer vacations are now a thing of the past, many of my friends and colleagues with children are celebrating the beginning of the summer season of travel! I thought today it would be fun to share a bright and sunny vacation look with y'all that would be perfect for any tropical or beachy trip you are taking this summer! (As you can clearly see, "season" is already in full swing in Florida!)

When it's so darn hot out I reach for the most light-weight and light-colored dresses in my closet to try and "beat the heat"! I'm a fan of keeping my jewelry simple because aint no one wanting to be sweating underneath their bangles! ha! So today's #ootd should perfectly fit the bill! :)

{PS- If you have fun summer travel plans tell me about them! I'm going to live vicariously through you!}

Preview: Lilly Pulitzer Resort 2016

This week WWD released a little sneaky peek of Lilly Pulitzer's Resort 2016 - and holy cow it's love at first sight! The colors are gorgeous, the prints are TDF, and the shapes are so flattering! Check it out below and let me know what you think!!

Currently Obsessing Over… {v. 38}

Happy Fri-YAY y'all! I'm so stinkin' happy the weekend is here! If you follow me on Instagram then you know I've been fighting a losing battle with my voice (i.e.: I currently don't have much of one) but despite that it's been a pretty great week! I feel like I'm finally back in the swing of things at work (even through they are cray-cray right now!) and my every-night-of-the-week-meetings are winding down (thank the Lord!) :) So cheers to a much needed weekend!

From Work to Weekend with Kushyfoot

I know that I've talked about this to y'all before, but I just can't say it enough… when it comes to my closet, versatility is the name of the game! As a fashionista on a budget, my clothes need to transition from workday to weekend with a simple change of accessories. One of the easiest accessories to change out (that has a huge impact on your look) is your footwear! Since pumps are not always my friend, my new Kushyfoot peep toe covers have made it so much more comfortable to wear them all day! And I love that my Flats to Go store easily in my bag and make changing out my look as easy as snapping my fingers! What are your quick tips to transition your look?

Rompers on King Street {Charleston Night 3}

Have you ever found a piece of clothing that made you quite literally run across town to purchase the minute you saw it? That's exactly what happened with this romper! When Asha and I were shopping on King Street we stopped into Moon and Lola and the adorable salesgirl was wearing this romper. I fell in love with it on the spot and Asha and I raced across town to pick it up from Belk! (Thanks to Asha for putting up with the antics of her crazy friend! ha!) I just couldn't help myself- it was perfect for our last night out in Charleston!

Speaking of which, we ended our food tour of the city at Eli's Table and once again we had the most amazing dinner; we dined on duck and waffles, shrimp and pancakes, fried green tomatoes & shrimp and grits. It was heavenly and the perfect last hurrah! Then we danced the night away at Prohibition (which I highly recommend for playing the most fabulous variety of music- both Pit Bull and Spice Girls in the same night!)

Everly Dresses

Y'all know I am always on the hunt for great brands that don't break the bank, so I am excited to share one that I love with you today- Everly! I own several Everly dresses and I am always impressed by both their quality and price (most are under $60)! Nordstrom has a great selection, but I've often picked mine up in local boutiques. I love that they are super easy to transition from work to weekend- nothing better than that! Have you tried Everly? What do you think?
Have a great Tuesday y'all! I'll be wrapping up my final vacation look for you tomorrow and also sharing the cutest new watch brand! Can't wait to "see" you bright and early!

LOFT Eyelet LBD {Charleston Day 2}

I'm back at it again this week with a few more of the looks I wore on my girl's weekend in Charleston. For our first full day in the city Asha and I did some serious exploring and decided to cover all of historic, downtown Charleston! We fueled up with brunch at Hominy Grill (amazing, amazing, amazing!) and then we shopped up and down King Street, snapped pictures by Rainbow Row, and visited Waterfront Park. We love exploring! All that walking (20,000 steps!) worked up quite an appetite and we did dinner on Sullivan's Island at Poe's Tavern (best burger I've ever had in my life- try the mexican one if you go!)

Also, I have to tell you that I discovered the most amazing beer on this trip (and that's saying a lot b/c normally I'm a champagne girl) but I got hooked on the Stiegal Radler and had one with each dinner! It's a grapefruit beer and tastes like you're drinking sweet grapefruit juice- YUM! Now I'm on the hunt for it here in Florida!

Currently Obsessing Over… {v. 37}

Oh hey Friday! So good to see you my friend! This week was a bit of a harsh shove back to reality after an amazing vacation in Charleston, but I made it to Friday and I am so grateful! I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend and taking lots of fun new blog pictures! :)

Here's what's making my heart go "pitter patter" this week...

Tavern & Table {Charleston Night 1}

Today I am super excited to share with you my dinner look from Day 1 of my Charleston girl's weekend! As I mentioned before we left, Asha and I really wanted this to be a no-plan trip. Both of us are extreme planners by nature and have our days scheduled down to the minute, so we were desperate for a break and a chance just to do whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted! Since Charleston has such a fabulous food scene though, we knew we would need to make a reservation or two for the top restaurants in Charleston. I'm happy to report that Tavern & Table was SO worth making the "plan"! If you are going to Charleston you must make Tavern & Table a stop on your food tour!! We dined on Pimento Cheese & Bacon Jam (ummm… I'm still dreaming about this!), Brisket Mac n' Cheese, Pulled Pork Flatbread, Lobster Beignets, and S'mores cupcake with Graham Cracker Ice Cream!! It was southern foodie heaven! :)

Lilly Pulitzer News!

If this was the 1920's I would be standing on a soapbox on the streetcorner shouting "Lilly News! Lilly News! Get your Lilly News here!" But since it's 2015 I'm going to "shout" through the blog the exciting news that Lilly Pulitzer has finally launched their app!! From what I've seen so far (I downloaded it at a stoplight and have only glanced through quickly!) you should be able to shop straight from the app and their will be exclusive content and first releases only to those who have the app. If you're a super fan then what are you waiting for? Get to downloading (it's free)! :)

Road Trip Time! {Charleston Day 1}

Hey y'all! I am so excited to be back with you today! I am so sorry for the radio silence yesterday, getting back into the swing of things took me a little more time than I anticipated (anyone else feel me on the pain of going back to "real life" after a fab vacation?) On the way to Orlando to meet my best friend Asha for our road trip to Charleston my car stopped being able to turn corners (super safe right?) and on the way home I found out that my power steering had been leaking fluid all over my engine and I was one spark away from going up in a ball of flames! Needless to say I am quite thankful for being safe and getting my car all fixed up (thanks to my family and friends who stepped up to help me- y'all are the best!) but it's cause some a lot of stress!
