Workweek Chic: Navy & Lime

Skirt: J. Crew (fall version here) || Top: J. Crew || Wedges: Tory Burch (currently 20% off) || Apple Watch with this band || Earrings: Fab'rik (similar here) || Clutch: Shandy Style

Goodness y'all- I'm so sorry I've been MIA from this sweet space lately! I thought once I was back and settled from the Hurricane evacuations everything would fall into place, but nope! Definitely not the case!

However, I can slowly but surely feel myself finding my groove again and I'm thrilled to be doing it today and bringing you this fun work look! As I always say, you don't have to hide your personality (or love for color!) in the workplace- you can definitely let it shine! The easiest way to do it is with pieces like I am wearing today: a tank in a classic silhouette but a bright pop of color & a neutral skirt with flirty ruffles. Both of these pieces clearly express my personality but also are appropriate for the corporate retail office in which I spend all my 9-5 time.

Speaking of work- I have some HUGE things in the works (one of which starts today) so I would be so thankful if y'all could keep my in your prayers! I know that wasn't a lot of detail, but if it all works out I will have so much to spill! :)

Workweek Chic: All Shades of Blue

Top: J. Crew Factory (old, great option here) || Skirt: J. Crew (on SALE and in-stock in all sizes!) || Wedges: Tory Burch || Apple Watch with this band || Gold Bangle: Kate Spade

Well y'all, it has been a HOT minute since I shared a workweek look here on the blog, but I am thrilled to say that work style is back here on Girl Meets Bow!! I think for the past few months I've been pretty uninspired by my workweek wardrobe, which means that it's been hard to find pretty new pieces to share with y'all. But that's changing today!

Lately I have been on a skirt-buying kick, which has given me all sorts of inspiration for my work week! Let's take today's double stripe skirt shall we? I'm such a sucker for a good stripe, and the alternate stripes on this piece are too much fun! For these pictures I decided to keep it "neutral" an pair it with a coordinating shade of blue, but a crisp white oxford or blouse, or a bold pop of color would also be beautiful! Since the skirt is cotton though, you could also dress it down for your weekends with a casual tee and sandals. It really is a skirt that will "do it all!" (Which is what I need in my wardrobe!)

What's your favorite piece you've bought lately for work?

Workweek Chic: 5 Ways to Stand Out at The Office

Dress: Tracy Negoshian || Wedges: J. Crew Factory || Monogram: Moon & Lola (I'm wearing the XL size) || Apple Watch

Happy Wednesday friends! Yesterday I ended up having a crazy day at work - if you follow me on Instagram that you saw I was at the studio until almost 1:00 AM because we had a Today's Special launch at midnight for my brand. We were introducing a new guest and I wanted to be there to support her! I was running on about 4 hours of sleep the rest of the day, and then got my end-of-year review! A whole lot to take in :)

But, as I was speaking with my boss about my successes and opportunities, it got me thinking that I've learned a LOT in the past 7 years of being a professional, and I wanted to share some of that with y'all. When you work in a large corporate office it can be difficult to stand out among all your co-workers. But, I have a few tips that have made a difference for me and have helped me to get noticed (in good ways!) PS- Even if you worked in a smaller office or less traditional environment these tips can still apply!

Workweek Chic: Black Lace + A Life Update!

White Tunic Top: Lush (on sale for $27!) || Lace Pants: J. Crew Factory || Wedges: J. Crew Factory || Purse: Kate Spade (option here & here- both on sale!) || Necklace: Stella & Dot (similar) || Apple Watch || Bangle: Kate Spade

Happy March y'all!! I can't believe that we are already three months into the year- time keeps on flying! I'm pretty excited because it's my birthday month - only 9 more days!

I feel like I owe y'all a little bit of a life update- it's been way too long since we caught up. As y'all know, I work full time in corporate retail as an Associate Jewelry Buyer, and with the tough retail environment right now, my job has literally been insane! I've been leaving work at 8 every night and eating, sleeping, and breathing jewelry to try and boost our business. I also accepted a volunteer position as co-chair of membership development for the Junior League (or leading our new member class) which has been taking lots of time and energy. On top of that, I'm chairing a committee for my local Heart Gallery's Fundraiser Gala "Flock to the Trop" (they help foster children find forever homes- a cause very close to my heart). Whew- are you tired yet? Because I sure am!

So why am I telling you all this?!

Workweek Chic: Lace Pants

Sweater: Loft || Pants: J. Crew Factory (Extra 35% off with code "THECOOLEST") || Wedges: c/o Oka-B || Necklace: J. Crew (on sale for under $20!) || Apple Watch || Bangle: Kate Spade

Hey y'all! I realized that it's been a hot minute since I shared a workweek look with you, and that is far too long! I'll be honest, I've had some trouble getting inspired with my workwear lately, it just feels SO hard to get dressed for a professional atmosphere in the winter season. But, when I spotted these lace pants, it totally reawakened my imagination! Lace is just so ladylike, and in this gorgeous blush shade they made me swoon! I'm normally one to wear my darker piece on the bottom (you know that slimming effect & all) but I got outside my box and I loved the results!

Workweek Chic: Magnolia Blouse

Blouse: Banana Republic // Skirt: J. Crew Factory // Flats: Louise et Cie // Clutch: BP (tonal colorways)

Happy Thursday!

I think it's pretty obviously that my getting a blog post up yesterday was an epic fail... sorry y'all! This week is really kicking my booty! I have a big presentation for our executive committee tomorrow so I've been slammed preparing for it, plus I've been getting back in the groove with Junior League (I can't stay away! :) ) so it's been a lot to balance! My 6AM bible study also started back this morning which I am so thankful for! I love starting my Thursday with my sweet friends and great conversations :)

Workweek Chic: LulaRoe Amelia Dress

Happy Tuesday friends!! Since we're all getting in the swing of a new work week, it only seemed appropriate to share a new "workweek chic" look to get you inspired for the rest of the week! Today's dress combines two of my favorite things- fun workwear & LulaRoe! I know y'all have heard me share a ton about this brand already (see recent posts here and here), so I'm excited to be able to share with you a dress that is not only perfect for the office but is also insanely comfortable (yes it's true).

This is the Amelia dress and it is so flattering on everyone! I actually have an adorably preggo girlfriend who rocks this dress like no one's business! Once again I love the length of this dress because it's conservative for the office, but the pleats are so feminine and fun! Oh and did I mention it has pockets?? #Winner :)

Workweek Chic: Paisley Print (On Major Sale!)

Dress: Banana Republic (on sale + an additional 40% off!) // Heels: Target // Clutch: BP via Nordstrom (just $25!) // Watch: c/o Christian Paul

Say hello to your work wardrobe's new best friend, this vibrant paisley dress! The cut of this dress is conservative enough for any workplace (add a blazer if you work in a more formal office setting), but the bright color says "take me out for drinks after-hours" :) Since this dress has a lot to say, I kept it simple with nude heels (that I can actually make it through the day in!) and a color-blocked clutch for those aforementioned drinks- because tote bags and bars don't mix!

Workweek Chic: Yellow Gingham

Top: Ann Taylor (Shop more gingham favorite below) // Pants: Gap // Flats: Tory Burch c/o Shopbop // Apple Watch

Happy Tuesday! I'm so excited to be back today with another edition of "Workweek Chic"- today showing y'all this darling gingham top & how to make it work appropriate! (It may be one of my favorite pieces in my closet)!

Now I have to be honest: I am a bargain hunter most of this time, so I waited until this top was on super-sale before scooping it up (which means it is now sold out- boo!)  However, I have seen it popping up at some of my local AT stores, and you can always scope out Ebay or Poshmark :)  In the meantime, let's chat styling tips!

One Dress: Two Ways - Lilly Pulitzer Essie Dress

Y'all know that I believe clothes should work for all areas of your life- the more variety the more fun! So I get so excited to put these posts together and show you multiple ways to wear some of my favorite "of the moment" pieces!

Workweek Chic: Big Ruffles and Black and White

Tank: J. Crew Factory (option 1 here & option 2 here) // Skirt: J. Crew (option 1 here & option 2 here) // Flats: Tory Burch Reva c/o Shopbop // Clutch: Old Navy // Apple Watch

I adore spicing up my workweek wardrobe with bold ruffles and fun patterns - it makes the everyday more fun! On their own, these pieces could easily be dressed down, but together they are a sassy statement - and that statement is "I'm here to impress!" Since I'm often off to meetings or drinks after hours, I love to throw a clutch in my larger tote so that I'm ready to go when the day is done. I also really like that the blue and black here is a little unexpected (no looking like a bruise!) and as long as your shades are different you're good to go!

Workweek Chic: Banana Republic Floral Top

Banana Republic: Sleeveless Floral Top (extra 50% off the sale price!) // Gap: Black Capris // J. Crew Factory: Nude Wedges // Old Navy: Black Tassel Clutch // Apple Watch

Friend, welcome to a brand new week! I'm still working on compiling my weekend pictures from WI so I am excited to instead kick off the week with a brand new work look! Banana Republic has been running an amazing "50% off Sale prices" sale so I've been able to stock up on great work pieces like this floral vee neck blouse. Especially in this intense summer heat, pieces like these allow me to look pulled together and yet are breathable enough that I don't sweat it up before an important meeting! (Trust me, the struggle is real right now!)

Workweek Chic: Embellished Sweatshirt

Sweatshirt: Banana Republic (limited sizing left) // Floral Pants: Banana Republic (on sale!) // Wedges: J. Crew Factory // Apple Watch

**Exciting Edit: Use code "BRTAKE40" to get an additional 40% off your purchase today!**

Happy Monday y'all! What better way to start off a work week than with a brand new "Workweek Chic" look?! I'm head over heels for these floral Sloan pants (they fit like a dream on your curves) and adding this jazzy embellished sweater just makes it FUN to get dressed for the office! And really, when you're headed back to work after the weekend, you have to dress for fun!

This weekend was a fun one, but it was also a lot of learning on the blog front (which I'm so excited about!) I'm really pumped that with all my new-found free time I'm able to devote myself to learning more editing skills & making this sweet lil space not only fun, but also high-quality for y'all! So this weekend I purchased Lightroom and Photoshop so that I can continue to improve the quality of the images you see here. Eek! It's quite the learning curve but I am so excited to "up the ante" and grow this brand that I'm so passionate about!! Any tips?? Let this gal know! (PS- I found this post incredibly helpful in learning editing tips!)

Workweek Chic: Lavender Peplum + iTunes GIVEAWAY!

Peplum Top: Banana Republic (on sale! Runs big, size down) // Pants: Gap (old, these are super similar) // Wedges: J. Crew Factory // Necklace: Jordan Emmitt // Apple Watch

Lately dressing for work has been so much more fun! I don't know if it's the gorgeous Spring weather (oh bright colors I love you so...) or a re-newed career drive that's making me want to up the ante on my look (dress for the job you want, right?) but there are no workweek blues here!

It may also help that lately Banana Republic has been bringing their A-game and I can't get enough! I've raved about this peplum top so much, it's time that I shared it with y'all :) And lucky for you it's now on major sale! In fact... I love it so much I picked it up in white! Fit tip: It does run big, so size down and you'll need to wear a tank top under for work as the back is sheer. Happy work week wearing!

One Dress Two Ways- Look #1 (Work)

Y'all know I am ALL about a versatile look, and finding pieces that can easily transition from work to weekend is what I am constantly striving to do (aint nobody got the time or budget for two separate wardrobes- except maybe Lisa Vanderpump!)

So over the next two Tuesdays, I'm going to share how I styled this darling Cece Cynthia Steffe dress for both the office and errands. Today were starting with my work look- let the fun begin :)

Workweek Chic: Polka Dot Skirt

I'm having so much fun sharing more of my work week wardrobe with y'all! I hope that some of these ideas are helping you spice up your look as well :) I know sometimes I can get stuck in a rut so it's always good to get inspiration from fellow bloggers- after all I'm in an office 5 days a week & my look can get repetitive sometimes!

Today's look involves a chambray button, which you are no stranger to seeing on me. It truly is the workhorse piece of my closet. Paired with this fun dotted midi skirt (i'm on a kick with this midi length) and my comfy leopard heels, this is a good twist on a classic look to help you beat those workweek blues!

Lilly Pulitzer "Tiger Palm" at Work

The wind was not my friend when trying to capture this outfit! Seriously y'all, it was the hot mess express and in the fight between me and the wind, it was wind- 1, Gentry- 0. Oh well, at least I was able to capture a few shots to share with y'all!

This is a pretty typical workweek look for me- an Elsa top, dress pants, and wedges. It's a pretty simple formula and works every time. There's days when it's fun to go over the top at work, but then there are days when it's just nice to keep it simple. One of my favorite fashion "rules" is "K.I.S.S"- Keep it Simple Silly!

Work Style: Loft Cranberry Drop-Waist Dress

When it comes to my work wear, I like pieces that are simple and statement making all in one. Red is always an attention-grabbing shade & I don't own anything else in this pretty cranberry color so I thought it was the perfect addition to my rotation! I was hesitant to try a drop-waist style (since often they are too fitted through the hips for my shape) but this one is purrrr-fect y'all! It's got a loose and easy drape that leaves plenty of room for your curves; speaking of which- you can also size down in this dress because it's so roomy! (I'm wearing a small for reference) Adding my new favorite wedges makes this dress perfect for the office, but with a denim jacket and flats it would easily transition to your fall wardrobe too (ugh… are we already talking about fall?!) ha!

Workweek Chic: Black and White with Bows All Over

If you know anything about me by now, you know that bright colors are my jam- so this black and white piece may not seem like my usual M.O. However, the mix of different stripes and perfect A-line flouncy skirt are absolutely up my alley! I fell hard and fast for this classic little number as soon as I spotted it. To make it even more "me" I added some bows and poof! My favorite new work look was created!

Dress: Banana Republic (sold out but love this cute alternative) // Bow Necklace: XXI obsessed with this one) // Bow Belt: Kate Spade Outlet // Bow Heels: Antonio Melani (super similar) // Watch: Victoria Wieck // Bracelet: Victoria Wieck // Ring: Victoria Wieck
