Woo-hoo y'all... we made it to Friday! I'm seriously so excited for a fun weekend here in town- even if I have to work 1/2 day on Monday! In celebration of the great weekend ahead, it seemed like the perfect day to share my latest round of Fancy Friday Finds- and there are seriously SO many good ones! So let's not waste any time and get to 'em!

Stylish Casual Wear

One thing people never tell you about getting older? That your weekend wear can't be lived in sweatpants! ha. I mean, technically you can wear whatever you please, but in a "big" small town like mine you are always bound to run into someone you know- which means being pulled together at all times! :) But let's be real, after a long workweek we also want major comfort on the weekends. That's where today's casual outfit comes into play!

I picked up these seersucker shorts earlier this season and feel like they were much needed in my wardrobe. It's so hard to find conservative shorts that are still young and fun- but also mature! (Can anyone else feel me on this struggle?!) For a pulled together weekend look I added my favorite white tee (seriously y'all, it's lightweight & NOT see-through!) and my Converse sneakers. Tip: my Converse had gotten super dirty so I tossed them in the washer and let them air dry and they are good as new! Now I'm ready to run into anyone who may cross my path in town ;)

#NWYLD Pink Palm Event Recap

Last Wednesday was not only the first day of summer, but it was also National Wear Your Lilly Day, and Sarah and I celebrated in color by co-hosting a fun event at our favorite local store- the Pink Palm! We were able to meet so many sweet local Lilly lovers & readers (hi friends!!) and just had an absolute ball trying on new arrivals, popping the bubbly and celebrating all things colorful!

I thought it would be fun to give you a peek inside the event as well as some fun "dressing room diary" snapshots! Sarah and I were in stitches all night- you know that is the sign of a great time! :)

Living the Cabana Life

A shirt dress is one of the most classic silhouettes a gal can have in her closet and I'm super excited to have added a new one to the mix. And this dress has a little something extra- serious sun protection! As you can see in these photos, I got a wee bit of sun burn last weekend (forgot the cardinal rule of reapplying sunscreen), which has made it all the more evident that I need sun protection at every turn!

I wore this dress from church, to brunch with my sister, to studying & working on the blog, to dinner with my family- and it was so comforting to know that my skin was safe and protected from the intense Florida heat! Add on the fact that the comfort level is like 100% and it didn't lose its shape at all during the day- I think it's the perfect closet addition!

This week was full of highs and lows, so I'm ecstatic that Friday is here! But y'all know I'm all about the positive, so let's just chat about the very best part :) Wednesday night I celebrated #NWYLD (National Wear Your Lilly Day) with the Pink Palm and y'all it was the best time ever!! It's kind of hard to put into words how much fun we had & how great it was to meet so many new friends! After a stressful few days, it was just what my heart needed. {I will be sharing ALL the snaps from the event next week!}

Do y'all know what day it is?! (Besides Wednesday of course!) IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER! There's just no way around it... this Florida girl is thrilled that my favorite season is here! Give me all of the long days, longer nights, summer parties, picnics, warm weather & ocean breezes... I'm pumped!

It's also why I felt like today was the perfect day to share some snaps from my sister weekend with you and our fun day at Madiera Beach! See, here's the thing, this girl can be really bad about not taking advantage of the fact that the beach is right down the street from me, and was in desperate need of a tan, so we packed up and decided that relaxing by the water was the only thing on our agenda! And boy did it feel good to do just that :)

I love stripes anytime of the year, but there is something about breaking them out in the summer time that makes them that much more, special. I mean, stripes and & summer kind of go hand in hand! #AmIRight ? So you can only imagine how excited I was when I spotted this sunset striped romper on the Loft website! I mean, don't you just want to run on over to the ocean's edge and watch the sun say goodnight? This piece is actually from their "Beach" line (meaning it's extra lightweight for days outside) but I love that it's not see through at all. And it's seriously one of the COMFIEST pieces that I have in my closet! A true winner on all fronts :)

Now on to the most perfect new summer dress! I was actually in line to check out on Memorial Day Weekend when this darling little frock caught my eye. Navy and white is the most classic color combination (I like to call it the "dynamic duo"); by adding it to this beauty seashell print you have a timeless piece! My sister is coming to visit this weekend and I have my fingers crossed that the weather holds out for a beach day. You can be sure I will be rocking my dress if so!

How to Make the Ultimate Jewelry Organizer

Whenever I take a photo in my room, the most frequently asked questions I get are how I made my accessory wall- and today I'm spilling all the details! The good news for y'all is that this is the easiest DIY ever - even a non-DIY'er like me could do it :) 

In my day job, as a jewelry buyer, there are some serious perks- one of which are the insane sample sales! (We're talking stuff-a-bag-for-$20-type-sales) Which means my jewelry collection has grown large over the past 5 years! In order to keep my collection organized, I had to come up with my own system, which I'm sharing with y'all today...

Well another Monday is here... doesn't it seem like they always come so fast?! For the first time in forever I had zero plans and it was glorious! I got tons of cleaning, organizing, & unpacking done around the house + lots of blog work! Super duper productive around here :)

So I have to tell you a funny story about this top. As you will see in the pictures below, the back of this top is totally open. So, when I got out of the car to meet with my aunt photographer she said, "Well that's a little sassier than I'm used to seeing!" ha. I guess when you always dress so conservatively even a little bit of skin gets you the "sassy" comments! But you know what? If I'm going to do sassy, then this precious gingham top is the way to go. The peplum hem & three big bows just stole my heart from the word go! How do y'all add a little sass into your wardrobe?

Hey sweet friends! Happy Friday! Can I just tell you how much I missed y'all? It's no secret that I love to travel & often get bit by the travel bug, but it sure takes me out of my "routine"- and makes it hard to keep up with everything. Although I won't lie, it sure is nice to unplug once in awhile :) 

I actually got back from Vegas at about 1:30am yesterday, but our luggage was delayed due to construction at the airport so I didn't get home until about 2:30am, and then due to sleeping on the plane I was WIRED and couldn't sleep until almost 4am! (#AllOutOfWack) So I finally went to sleep and then picked up Buddy Bear and headed into work after lunch. So now I'm catching up on the blog and so excited to be back in the groove with y'all!

I just love that this season is all about fun, unique, feminine details! By adding the simplest little details it takes basic items "up" a notch and makes them totally unique! Case-in-point: this adorable cold-shoulder tee. On it's own, it would be a sweet and simple basic; but by adding the cut-outs and bow ties you've got a fun piece that's sure to garner some compliments :) I'm also a sucker for scallops of any kind- so of course I totally swooned over these chambray shorts- I mean, the cutest!! The perfect finishing touch was my Oka-B bow flats... this girl sure does love her bows!

Woo- hoo! It's another fun day around here, because I'm sharing my May book reviews! I was able to read 4 great books this month and I'm sharing them all (plus my thoughts) with you below. I have a big trip to Vegas coming up next week so I'm hoping to get even more new books read to share with you next month- let's keep this bookworm thing going ;)
