So I'm almost embarrassed to admit that last month I received my first ever piece from Stella and Dot (hangs head in shame); but y'all in my defense, I had no idea how much I was going to love it! Everything from the shipping speed (3 days!!), so the adorable packaging, to the quality was outstanding; you can most definitely call me a fan girl now! So imagine my delight when my gal pal, Mandy, asked me to host a trunk show and share my newfound love for Stella and Dot! Count me in y'all! Carnival

Whenever I wear this dress I feel like I should have a funnel cake in one hand and cotton candy in the other, it reminds me that much of a carnival! Something about those bright stripes & colors just say "ride the merry go round"! ha! 

My mom actually got this dress for me for Christmas from the best local boutique in my hometown, Sophie and Trey. We were out shopping on Black Friday and I spotted this dress & the coordinating clutch and quickly put it on my "Dear Santa" list! Well Santa brought it Christmas morning and I had to wait patiently until Spring to break it out- and now I can't imagine putting it back in my closet! I just love how cheerful it is!

Love to Layer

Remember this post in which we chatted about my newfound appreciation for delicate jewelry? Well I thought it would be fun to show you how I'm mixing and matching pieces in "real life" :) First, this ah-dorable crab necklace that I'm wearing is from the most darling brand, Swell Caroline! Swell Caroline delights in all things bright, colorful, & monogrammed (just like me!) and I love that this little crab is perfect for the Florida summer. I already see this guy being worn way to much in the coming months- but can you blame me?! I layered this cutie with another necklace that I've been wearing nonstop: the Alexia Necklace from Stella and Dot! I'd been looking for the perfect piece to mix, match, and jazz up my everyday looks and this beautiful arrow necklace first the bill perfectly! Y'all I just love it when everything comes together :) 

So what are your thoughts on the mix and match, delicate jewelry trend? Sometimes mixing these delicate pieces makes way more of a statement then wearing a statement piece- don't you think?!

Weekend Jam

Well friends, another Monday is here! I don't know about you but I'm already dreaming of Friday! 

This past Saturday was a super busy one- between going back and forth to Lakeland to take blog pictures, running errands, getting end of the year Junior League gifts, and prepping for a big night out I needed to throw on an outfit that put the "fun" in functional! (Is that the worst joke you've heard in awhile- oops! ;) ) Well, this maxi dress was perfect for all the running around I needed to do! It was light & breezy but cute enough to stop in all the boutiques I needed to visit and make me feel oh-so-ready for summer!

Whew… This week has been a total whirlwind! Trying to settle back in after a big trip is always the hardest and I still have an overflowing suitcase in my room waiting to be unpacked! But y'all I am so thankful for this busy season of my life, because there is some super exciting opportunities happening behind the scenes here and I can't wait to share them all with you!! And in other exciting news, I start as the Junior League president in 7 short days… one week…. ahhh!

I also have to say a HUGE thank you to each and every one of you who voted for me in the "Work Hard, Play Hard" style challenge! I am so humbled and thrilled to have been voted your favorite entry and I am over-the-moon! So please know that it means the world to be to have your support. Thanks y'all!!

I've been debating on the Barrington Tote of my dreams for awhile now, and every time I thought I had made a decision, I waffled! Well, turns out my indecision may have been fortuitous because this bad boy was just released and there is not one ounce of indecision left! Can we talk about how perfect this bag is for summer? Y'all... I. Can't. Even!

Another week, another romper! This fab-find is not only under $20 (!!) but it has a pom-pom trim bottom and a big 'ol bow! Holy swoon!

I'm the girl that, without fail, spills ketchup on her outfit when there is even hint of white on it, but for some reason I have thrown caution to the wind and am seriously crushing on white denim for my Spring and Summer wardrobe! I love how crisp and fresh it looks with just about anything you pair it with. Bedrock Print Set

Isn't this "dress" just the cutest?! Well I have a secret… it's not a dress- it's a matching set! I've been totally crushing on matching sets this spring, I just think they are so fun and fresh! But I was super worried that they wouldn't work for me. But then, like a hero, the Loft came through with this one and I was smitten. I love that I can wear both of these pieces separately, but they also look fab together! Everyone mistook this for a dress and it was so fun to share that it was actually two pieces! :) Tell me, have you tried a two-piece yet?

Tropical Print Jumpsuit

Alright y'all, are we ready to talk about the #LillyforTarget debacle yet?? I was flying home from LA on Sunday morning, so my sweet sister agreed to shop for me. I sent her a wish list, thinking I'd have my pick of the litter… #ohno. I logged on to Twitter at 10 pm LA time and was able to snag the maxi that was my #1 pick as well as the gold pineapple sandals from the leaked mobile links before Target shut them down. Whew… at least I knew that was taken care of! Mallory got to our local Target at 7am and was still 9th in line! She called me at 8:10 to tell me that the store was sold out but she managed to grab me a jumpsuit and a dress (#yourthebest). However in her words, "those girls were crazy!" Y'all when did a fun lifestyle brand turn into this madhouse?! The angry tweets and hurtful messages? That's not what Lilly is about!

So today I thought it would be fun to go back to the Lilly I know and love, that helps me make every hour a happy hour when I'm wearing it! This jumpsuit is just so fun and comfortable, perfect for a hot summer day! Currently, Lilly doesn't have any jumpsuits available, but as soon as she has a new one online (usually they come out for resort) I will make sure and let y'all know!

Weekending: City of Angels

I got back last night from Los Angeles and I am so excited to share some snaps with y'all! This was my very first time in the city and I now know what the appeal is- it's the best!! I was there Wednesday-Sunday, and there was so much to see and do, and I can't wait to get back asap so I can see & do more! Since I was there for the Junior League Annual Conference, I was in sessions all day but had the nights to sightsee. Get ready for some serious picture overload (because this girl is crazy for LA)! :) 

When I got in, I grabbed some of my girlfriends and we headed to Hollywood to see the stars/Chinese Theater and we trekked all over the city blocks to find the NKOTB star for my gal Terri (ha!) Luckily when we found it, it was right next to the BSB star ;) Although I'm still hunting for N'SYNC's...

Fuchsia Midi Skirt

Cue Legally Blonde the Musical, 'cause "Oh my god, oh my god you guys!!" I mean, this skirt tho!! After I missed out on purchasing the red version of this skirt at Christmas, I wasn't going to miss out on another one- especially when it is in my signature color pink! And boy am I glad that I scooped this beauty up, because there are just so many fun ways to style it. Today I wen't for a more office-appropriate style, but this can easily be your best brunch look with a striped tee and sandals, or date night worthy with a sweet & sexy blouse. Spring Dress

Yeah yeah, I know… florals for spring, groundbreaking! But can y'all blame me for falling truly, madly, deeply in love with this stunning maxi?! This is one of those amazing finds that looks so much more expensive than it is, and just makes you feel pretty when you wear it (and who doesn't want to feel pretty every time they get dressed). The pinks in the flowers are almost neon in person, which gives this dress even more pizzaz! Even better? It also comes in the most beautiful white!

Y'all this has been the most empowering and invigorating weekend! The Junior League Cocktail Reception & Leadership Retreat were amazing, and I'm pinching myself that I get to serve with some of the most inspiring women in our community! I am so proud of all we accomplished this weekend and I can't help but rejoice in this beautiful day that the Lord has made! I hope you are having a weekend of happy hearts too! XO

This week has been a pretty nutty one y'all & it's not over yet! This Saturday is my Leadership Retreat for all my incoming Junior League chairs, so I've been running all over town like a madwoman making sure every last detail is set and ready to go! Plus we have an amazing speaker coming in to facilitate our training, so we are hosting a big cocktail party for her tonight to welcome her to town. Although it's sure to be a thrilling event (s) it sure is exhausting making sure it all comes together! I'm very thankful to have an amazing support system of women in the league who have helped me with so many details of the weekend! These ladies are true gems!!

Now onto my weekly obsessions (because let's be real there is always a few minutes for those!)

N-E-O-N

Alright y'all, I hope you have your shades ready because you're going to need them today! I fell in love with this skirt the minute I saw it - there is nothing about this neon green that I don't adore! When I thought of how to style it, I knew I could go the more traditional route of a neutral on top. But how much fun would that be?! (not enough is the answer!) So I grabbed my favorite neon striped tee and voila! An outfit that made me insanely happy was born :)

Black & White

Throughout high school and college I used to daydream about the day I would wear "work clothes". I peeked in the windows at J. Crew and Loft and used to think how one day soon I would be "old enough" to wear their classic styles as work & weekend wear because I would then be a working girl. Well 16 year old Gentry… the day has come! 

My wardrobe has definitely been transitioning since my college graduation 5 years ago, and I have hit the point where my looks often seamlessly transition from work to weekend with a quick swap of accessories (and sometimes no swap is needed)! Today's outfit is a perfect example of this. I wore this look to work last week, and I could easily stop for an after work drink without changing a thing. Swap out the flats for wedges and you have a perfect date look! How has your style evolved since college?

Work Hard, Play Hard Challenge

Recently I learned about The Palm Tree Boutique's Work Hard, Play Hard Spring Outfit Challenge (whew, try saying that three times fast!) and I couldn't type "count me in" fast enough! I'm always looking for pieces that are multi-use and can be dressed up & down for different occasions. As a girl on a budget I can't afford to buy pieces that are only applicable to one occasion, I need my wardrobe be multi-use! So, it was super fun for me to challenge myself to style this fun chevron top and take it from a  girl's brunch to a girl's night- and I have to say I love both looks! They are each perfect for the summer days (and nights) ahead of us! Tell me, what are your tips for making your wardrobe as multi-functional as possible?

It's one of my favorite weekends of the year - Easter Weekend! There is just something about donning your Easter best and celebrating our Risen Lord with your loved ones that is so special to me! Navy + Olive

Have you ever had an outfit just kind of come together when you weren't planning on it? That's what happened to me when I was trying to style this dress. Originally I wanted to pair it with this cute pineapple cardigan I have, but they just didn't work together. (#bummer) But then I spotted this jacket out of the corner of my eye- I hadn't worn it in months but figured "what the heck?" and threw it on! Y'all it was just darling together and the kind of easy style I love in the spring! When I added my favorite nude wedges, I knew I had a winner :)
