Leopard Holiday Look

It's the start of holiday party season, and I don't know about you but my calendar is jam-packed! Since I'm trying to save my budget for buying presents for my sweet friends and family, I've been re-working old favorites into fun party looks- and this might be my favorite! As we all know by now #leopardisaneutral, and make that leopard in a turquoise print and we have a big winner friends! I just added my go-to black skirt and fun bow pumps, and bam! A winner!

If you're anything like me, at this point in your life you have probably been in quite a few weddings! And I don't know about you but I have heard, more times than I can count, "And the best part is you can wear it again!" (Que. scene from 27 Dresses) However, with the modernization of bridesmaid dresses this is actually becoming a true statement! No longer are we drowning in layers of taffeta and fluff, but we are wearing chic and streamlined dresses! (Thank the bridesmaid designing lords!!) :)

When Weddington Way asked me to style a bridesmaid dress for the "big day" and the weekend, I jumped at the chance! Thanksgiving Day with the Mint Julep + A Giveaway!

Ruffled Plaid

Let's take a quick second to talk about things that I love: 1) plaid 2) ruffles- put them together in one shirt and you can't pry it off me! Today's outfit isn't too complicated, just my favorite ruffled plaid and my go-to J. Crew skirt, but there's something about its simplicity that I just adore! This is the perfect outfit after a weekend of fun when you need something easy for Monday. Nothing's better for tackling a long week than an outfit that makes you feel great! Hope your week goes fast and fabulous! :)

Now You See Me...

Camouflage isn't a pattern that I normally associate with my girly and preppy closet, but after seeing how popular it is this season I was determined to "girly-up" some camo! I love that this sweater is silver rather than your traditional green camo, and I think it definitely lends itself to being made slightly less "hunter". ha! 

Also, the weather here is still fluctuating between 60's in the morning and high 70's in the afternoon- so this look is still appropriate! But I'm also thinking it would be perfect for early spring too- gotta love something you can wear year round!

I am so excited to launch Girl Meets Bow's very first gift guide! The Christmas season is my very favorite time of year and I love picking out the perfect gift for everyone in my life! I thought that I would launch this series with the most tricky of those to buy for- your co-workers. I say that this is the trickiest because when it comes to gifting for those you work with you want to make sure to walk the line between personal and professional, and that can sometimes be hard to navigate. I have personally gifted many of the ideas above and they are all big hits in the office place, so without further ado…

Dressing for a Sunny Winter

I recently got my first reader request for a style post (thanks Margaret- you made my day!) and she asked if I would help explain "Florida Style" since she is moving here from the chilly North! She pointed out that in researching the area she noticed we have a much more relaxed style, and wanted to know how that translated in the warmer winter months. I loved the idea!!

Our style here in the Sunshine State is different from just about anywhere else in the country- and I wouldn't have it any other way. While I am working on a fun style collaboration with some other blogger friends, I thought today would be perfect for a roundup of some of my favorite winter looks for the sunniest "winter" around!

1) I think I have a new mantra in life, "Aztec is always the answer" (ha!) A cozy tribal sweater on a chilly 50 degree day is the perfect combination. I love pairing these sweaters with my favorite ponte pants and riding boots. It's got the right weight to keep you warm, while not making you burn up!

"Belle" of the Ball

Last week I had a complete "pinch me" moment when I was invited to Dillard's to style some looks from the Belle Badgley Mischka line of contemporary evening and special occasion dresses. I couldn't have been more excited to get glamorous for the evening! And though the dresses were gorgeous and certainly did not disappoint (in fact I didn't want to take them off!) - what really put the evening over the top was the amazing specialists at my local Dillard's at International Plaza! The entire staff made me feel so special the entire night as we said "ohhh" and "ahhh" over ever dress I styled. These ladies we're beyond amazing and I can't thank them enough for how special they made me feel! (You ladies rock!) :)

Mad for Plaid

I absolutely love versatile outfits like this! I wore this the other weekend shopping all day and than easily transitioned it to a casual girls night out- and it was perfect for both occasions! Lately I'm really loving dressing up my plaid shirts for a more sophisticated vibe, it's fun to take something casual and turn it into something more fancy! And as a bonus… it's comfy too! Best of both worlds! :)

Wedding Wednesday: #thegunklewedding {The Big Day}

Well friends we have a big day today; the biggest day in fact: Cherysh's day of "I Do's"! I have previously shared Cherysh's bachelorette (part 1 and part 2) as well as her rehearsal dinner, but I am so excited to share her wedding day today! I was honored that Cherysh asked me to be her "day of" coordinator (basically her wedding planner for the big day); I couldn't have been more excited to help take stress off her and make her dream day everything she wished for!

It was an absolutely gorgeous North Carolina day and every detail of the wedding was just perfection! Cherysh thought of every last detail and picked out every decoration featured on her day. She even had me and my sweet "assistants" assemble her alter for her! From stringing decorations to hammering signs in the ground- we would have done anything to help this gal have the best day ever! We love you Cherysh and are so glad you've found the man to spend your "happily ever after" with!

Good Reads

Happy Monday Friends! I hope that y'all had the most fabulous of weekends! I spent some time at home to help my little sister get ready for her homecoming dance (I'll be sharing pictures soon!) It was so fun spending some time with my sweet family!

Now onto today's fun look! I'm such a bookworm and there is absolutely no better way to spend a sunny Saturday than enjoying a fun chick lit book (and sipping on some yummy coffee of course)! Sunday Scripture

I don't think I can add many words to these, because they are so true and give me so much to be thankful for. Friends we don't have to take on burdens alone, we have hope that can be put in Him who is so much bigger than us. His shoulders can take so much more if we let Him. Be thankful for this truth today!
