With the 4th of July right around the corner (#proudtobeanamerican) I rounded up a fun red, white and blue look that it perfect for a hot summer celebration! Maroon-ed

There is nothing more romantic than a whole lotta lace… but you know what isn't romantic?! The Florida humidity! Folks my hair was just not loving the heat so up it went! (Although I'm kind of digging' this fun little updo that came out of it)!

Anywho… back to this lovely dress! I got this gem on sale for $20 at the Loft earlier this year- it was the last in stock (in my world that means #meanttobe). I love this simple and sophisticated look for special events- it's just classy as can be! What is your go-to look for special events?

Lovely Lavender

Don't you love a versatile dress? I sure do! This lil number does the trick quite perfectly! I dressed it up here for more of a "ladies who lunch" look, but I've thrown it on with sandals for running around town and also changed out my jewelry for more of an evening look. When you can style something that many ways, then for sure you are getting your cost per wear (price of item/number of times you wear = cost per wear)!

Buzzing Like Neon

No one does neon better than J.Crew- I mean have you ever seen a more fun dress in your life?! This neon shift had me all abuzz the minute I saw it… and then I patiently waited for a great sale :) Just putting this dress on was an instant mood-brightner- how can you not smile when your dress needs sunglasses? 

I hope you all have a bright and happy Monday- I was in a wedding in St Louis this past weekend so I'm working hard to get back into the "groove" today!

Y'all have to know by now that I am the sucker for a great maxi. There is such a simple elegance when you throw on a maxi dress- it's the best kind of sophistication! You wanna know the best part of this maxi?! It was under $30 - gotta love an Old Navy steal!

Jumpsuits are where it's at y'all! If you read my Dallas recap yesterday, then you may have seen this cute lil number peaking at you from behind the big pink lei :) I am absolutely obsessed with this fun look! I wore this on our "ultimate bachelorette night" and it was perfect for wiggling around throughout  the evening! ha!

#AngieDoesDallas {Bachelorette Weekend Recap}

My sweet friend Angie is getting MARRIED this week (#letthefunbegin)! In honor of her wedding week I wanted to put up a fun little recap of her bachelorette party last weekend in Dallas. None of us girls had ever been to Dallas before, and I have to say that I loved it! There was so much to do and I would love to go back and explore even more!

Day 1 started with a yummy lunch at Sambuca. It was such a gorgeous day that we sat out on the patio and enjoyed some cocktails and catching up! We hadn't all met before so it was fun to get to know each other over delish drinks!

After lunch we did a little bar hopping. We all loved The Standard Pour- the strawberry champagne concoction was so yummy and the bar was gorgeous!

Sunday Scripture

I am reading the most amazing book in my bible study, "The Circle Maker." This book is all about the power of prayer and really getting serious about your prayers to the Lord. It is filled with true stories of answered prayer and how to circle everything in your life with prayer. I am so encouraged to know that our sweet Lord hears it all- and loves us enough to answer. Be encouraged friends to know the He will never stop listening to you!

A Girl Can Dream...

If you're anything like me then Las Vegas is definitely on your bucket list! Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to visit in person yet, but some days when things get super-stressful I think about how much it would be to jet to the Strip with my girlfriends and enjoy a fun weekend of letting my hair down!!

So what would I do when I first got to Vegas? Lay out by the pool of course! After checking out vegas.com there is no doubt I would be staying at The Aria and laying out at the Liquid Lounge. A cocktail in one hand and InStyle in the other? Pinch me!

Playing Koi

It ain't a secret what a crush I have on all things nautical- so you can imagine that I about fell over when this pretty lil necklace made its way into my life! Wowza! These three sparkly koi fish gave me three big reasons to smile! 

Since this necklace is such a statement I kept my outfit simple with navy stripes and for one extra punch threw on my adorable bow sandals (thanks mom for the great find)!

Workweek Chic: Black and White with Bows All Over

If you know anything about me by now, you know that bright colors are my jam- so this black and white piece may not seem like my usual M.O. However, the mix of different stripes and perfect A-line flouncy skirt are absolutely up my alley! I fell hard and fast for this classic little number as soon as I spotted it. To make it even more "me" I added some bows and poof! My favorite new work look was created!

Rompin' Around

Y'all I am so excited to bring you a fun lil interactive campaign today called "Closet Swap" with Raise.com! Jessica at raise.com asked me to share the looks I will be strutting as the weather across the country transitions into summer. As you know, Florida didn't know it had to wait for summer heat so I've been transitioning my wardrobe for awhile now! But for me nothing says summer more than my newest obsession, Rompers! #alldayeveryday

This fun lil frock from Loft is absolutely perfect to beat the heat in- it's the most lightweight, breathable material ever! I also love that it is loose and flowy- and doesn't cling to any curve. I added my new favorite bow sandals (because nothing says summer like a bow) and I am ready for a HOT Florida day!

Now back to business :) ...

When I was at the University of Florida (go Gators) there was an unofficial campus uniform. The basic outfit on just about every student was khaki shorts (the more colorful the better) and some southern outfitters brand t-shirt- bonus if you had on Jack Rogers! I found myself more and more wearing this "uniform" the majority of my collegiate experience. And now, 4 years post-grad, this combination is my favorite go-to for casual weekend wear...I guess you can take the girl outta college, but you can't take the college outta the girl!

J.Crew Floral Skirt

Happy Tuesday Y'all! This sweet J.Crew floral skirt has been making its rounds on the blogsphere lately and I have been totally smitten. Well over Memorial Day weekend I feel into the biggest shopping luck-out of ALL TIME! This beauty was at my local J.Crew store marked down to $20 (you read that right!)- then... it got even better! Not only was this skirt the last one in the store (and in my size), when I checked out it was an additional 40% off sale! That's right folks, this stunner cost me $12.88!!! What is the biggest steal you ever had while shopping??

Gotta Have It

So this dress has a bit of a backstory... I originally saw this dress on an adorable online boutique, but about as fast I as I could click on the website this puppy was sold out! I signed up for the re-stock alert but no dice... it seemed like I was out of luck. Then the shopping fates smiled in my favor... I was at Junior League Conference two weeks ago and an adorable delegate was WEARING THIS DRESS! Needless to say I beelined over to her and asked where in the world she scored hers. Turns out it's from  a precious lil shop, Just a Little Something Extra - and I was able to get one of my very own!! There was a whole lot of happy dancing happening :) Friends, where there is a will there most certainly is a way!
