Top 10 Posts of 2015

I can hardly believe that today is the last day of 2015! In a few short hours we will all be raising our glasses of champs, lighting the sparklers and counting down "5...4...3...2....1!" 2015 was a year of pretty intense highs (becoming Junior League president, getting a promotion, some incredible trips across the country) and also some painful lows (getting my heart broken, entering a "waiting period," and unanswered prayers). But in looking back at all that has happened, and where I am now, I wouldn't trade a minute of the madness! I know without a doubt that the Lord has brought me here, to this moment, right where I am now, and that He has HUGE plans for 2016- plans that I can't even fathom! So while it is always sad to say goodbye to a year, I'm looking forward with excitement, hope, & faith. 2016 I'm coming for ya! #LetsDoThis

Ring in 2016 in Style!

It's hard to believe we'll be ringing in 2016 in just two more sleeps! I love the start of a new year because as cheesy as it sounds it is a fresh beginning and a new start- a chance to wipe the slate clean and begin fresh! But before we get to all that, we have to figure out what to wear! :) Today I've rounded up dresses, shoes, and accessories that will carry you in to the new year in style (how else would you enter it??) Happy Monday y'all!! I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas (I know I did!) I'm not quite done with the holiday festivities yet, so I still have a few more merry outfits to share with y'all before we hit 2016 - eek! Who else can't believe a new year is about to begin?! And, I don't know about you but getting back into the swing of work today is going to be brutal... bring on the caffeine please! :)

I hope that in the midst of the presents and the cheer today we can take a moment to remember what the day is really about- the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It's hard to fathom sometimes that our God loved us so much that her sent his Son to save us from our sins. What love that is! Daily I'm humbled by the Lord's grace for me, and today more than ever I am thankful for his faithfulness to us (even when grossly undeserved). 

So hug your loved ones tight and give thanks to the Lord for he is so good!

What to Wear on Christmas Day!

Happy Christmas Eve y'all!! Can you believe tomorrow is the big day?! I sure can't! Sorry about the unexpected radio silence the last two days, it was a whirlwind to pack and come home on Tuesday and then I've been soaking up quality time with my family since- it's been blissfully stress-free! But I just had to pop in today and share a great outfit idea if you're still trying to figure out what to wear on Christmas day. 

In my family Christmas day is a pretty casual affair. My sister and I have a sleepover on Christmas Eve and we always wake up by 5am ready to grab some coffee and open presents! We usually have to wait for "Santa" to finish downstairs... and Dad to wake up! But by 6am we are all up and rearing to go! So, by the time we get dressed and head to my Grandma's house for round 2 later in the day we are tired and in need of cute and comfy looks- like the one I'm sharing today.

It's so hard to believe that 2015 is winding down and with it comes all the "countdowns" to the beginning of a new year. I thought it would be fun today to share with you my 10 favorite purchases of 2015! Let's be honest, I shop some a lot, so when I find something that sticks out as fabulous you know it's good! And, if you have any shopping left to do, this may spark some ideas for you!

Well y'all, at this time next week we will be sipping coffee and unwrapping presents while listening to Christmas carols- I can't believe Christmas is almost here! This season has sure flown by and I'm not sure I'm ready yet for 2016! I'm happy to have this weekend to finish my Christmas shopping and wrap all my gifts- but I'm most excited for next week when I see my loved ones unwrap them! I'm also headed to a fun Christmas party and gift exchange with my bible study girls- can't wait!

So let's get to everything I'm obsessing over this week...

I'll Take You to the Candy Shop

I don't know about you, but I can't pass a candy shop without humming 50 Cent lyrics... just me? I'm ok with that! Regardless of your affinity for hip-hop music, I was so excited when we stumbled upon this precious candy shop and the building perfectly matched me out! That doesn't happen that often when you wear colors as bright as these :) 

I just have to take a minute and tell you how ah-mazing this dress is! It is a new style from Lilly Pulitzer called the Linden Dress and it is one of the first t-shirt style dresses that I can actually wear! I have a big booty and serious curves so t-shirt dresses are usually not my best friend, but this one is definitely the exception to the rule! It's actually cut like an a-line and the material is thicker so it doesn't cling- y'all it's seriously the bomb dot com! (When I start pulling out my 90's lingo you know I'm serious ;) )

Gifting with Girl Meets Bow: Stocking Stuffers & My Wishlist

I've got a double-decker gift guide coming to you today, packed full of ideas for me and some easy last-minute stocking stuffers! 

First off, me! :) I feel that I've started getting to that point in my life where I can afford most of what I  want and need (incredibly thankful for that!), so my Christmas list is truly just fun things I love or aren't in my budget right now. As I'm getting back into reading more, I feel like I can't get enough chick lit in my life and Southern Charm looks like it will be right up my alley! For travel I am still hoping Santa brings this rolling duffle (now 50% off!), and in case my Santa is feeling super-duper generous this Tory Burch has been on my lust-list forever!

Tassels and Chambray

Happy Tuesday y'all! Today's look is seriously a favorite- you can never go wrong with chambray & a bold tassel! I love the simplicity of this look and that is is basically a blank canvas for any accessories you want to add. Today I went for fun pops of color and cheeky accessories, but you could easily add a oversize bib necklace & gold sandals in summer to add some "tropical" to the look and transition from one season to another #toearlytotalksummer ? #warmweatherdreaming

I've mentioned this necklace before, but in case you missed I just have to share again that proceeds from sales of this piece go to the Independence Fund which helps disabled veterans regain mobility. Seriously the best cause and it makes you feel wonderful to wear something that does good for our veterans!

An Easy Girl's Night Look

Let's all get real for minute, during the holidays time is at a premium and ain't no one got time to spend forever and a day getting fussy for a night out with your girls. Easy becomes the name of the holiday game (and really, when you're popping the bubbly with you don't want to be messing with a pretentious outfit!) So is it any surprise that I reach for my go-to pieces when prepping? Nope it shouldn't be! ;) To jazz up this easy blouse and pants I added sassy black boots, and of course tons of jewels! Don't be afraid to stack your bracelets high, pile on necklaces and pull out a cocktail ring! This is one occasion where you don't want to be subtle. Now grab your champagne flutes and go have some fun y'all!

Holy cow y'all- how are we two weeks through December?! I can't believe how fast this year is going, I just want to slow down a little and savor the season. I've been itching to do something festive this week so tomorrow some friends and I are going to a Christmas-themed Bar Crawl and I couldn't be more excited! I haven't "crawled" since college so we'll see if I can still hang with the youngins! ;)

Happy 2 Year Blog-iversary!

Today is a pretty gosh-darn exciting day around these part because I'm celebrating my two year blog-iversary!! It's hard to believe that two short years ago I took the plunge and started Girl Meets Bow- I had no idea what I was in for! But y'all I can honestly say that it has been the most incredible journey and I have learned so much about myself and gained so many new skills (hello shooting pictures in manual and html coding!) 

But, without a doubt the very best part of this journey has been YOU! Getting to know you, my darling readers, has brought so much joy to my everyday! Your kind words, encouragement, and overall cheer bring so many smiles to my face :) I love getting to chat fashion & pop culture with you and that you have as much fun visiting GMB as I do creating it! Y'all really are the bees knees and I hope you know how much I appreciate each and every one of you! From the bottom of my heart thank you for your support and friendship!

You know what they say... tis the season! With everything we "adults" have going on, it can sometimes be hard to be in the Christmas spirit (the Holiday to-do lists seem endless!) but you know what always gets me in the festivities? Holiday clothes!  There's nothing that brings cheer more than wearing a spirited shirt while shopping for gifts for my loved ones!
