I absolutely loved the Lilly Pulitzer Spring collection! With her summer collection debuting I thought it would be fun to round up a few of my spring favorites. You Never Forget Your First

As you probably have seen by now, Lilly Pulitzer's spring campaign's tagline is "you never forget your first". I love the nostalgia this question evokes as it brings Lilly lovers back to all the "firsts" they experienced while wearing their Lilly (first loves, first dances, first communions... the list goes on and on!)

Well today I'm sharing a "first" of my Lilly dresses- my first Lilly that was gifted to me! I remember how excited I was when I saw the signature Lilly wrapping and how I squealed with glee when I unwrapped it and saw this lil number inside! I had fallen hard for these sailboats and I was so excited that this dress was going to enter my outfit rotation! What a fun and thoughtful gift that I still cherish all these years later!

Friends I hope that your life is filled with the most wonderful "firsts"- and that you take time to celebrate each of them!

Ever have a Bible verse that hits you straight in the heart? Well this is it for me recently- having faith even when we cannot see the Lord's complete plan. It is a scary place to be, but isn't that when we grow the most? I hope each of you is having a wonderful Sunday and gearing up for a great week!

Saturday Stroll

One of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday is browsing my local bookstore. I love perusing the shelves and discovering what is going to be my new favorite (I re-read my books about 17 times each)! For trolling the shelves I love the combination of a comfy sweater and shorts. Add an oversize tote to haul your finds and you are ready for the day!

Beach Bum

There is seriously nothing better than a great beach day... the sand, the surf, the sun- it's heavenly! Recently I had one of those way to rare "free" days, and putting my toes in the sand was the only "to-do" on my list - what a treat it was! When I do slip over to the beach, I love reading a fun book (chic-lit is my favorite) and working on my tan. There are definitely a few perks to being a Florida native ;)

Ahoy Matey!

Anchors and the ocean go together like puppies and snuggles- a perfect duo! For an evening stroll on the beach it seemed only appropriate to be covered in head-to-toe anchors. For a bold print like this I left my accessories simple so my dress could do the talking for me (and my windblown hair... that did a lot of talking too!) :)

Sunday Scripture: Happy Easter!

Oh sweet friends, what a beautiful day it is- the day we celebrate the sweetest words, "By his wounds we are healed"!

I can think of nothing more beautiful than the Lord's grace for each of us- a love so deep and so true that he gave the Son he dearly loved so that you and I would one day join Him in Heaven. I am humbled by God's love. I am humbled by Jesus' trust in his Father. I am humbled by the greatest act of love the world will ever know.

So today we celebrate this love, and the life it promises us, for there is no sweeter joy to be had. Happy Easter Friends!!

What I'm Loving Lately: A Perfect LBD

I have been on an extreme hunt for one of the most sought-after, classic pieces a woman can own- a Little Black Dress! I have been desperately seeking this closet staple, hoping to find a piece that is not only flattering, but also highly versatile too!

Well, inspired by this post from the Northeast Girl I headed to Kohl's to check out their dress selection. And what do you know? I found the holy grail of Little Black Dresses! A comfortable knit, subtle striping... it's absolute PERFECTION! I was also inspired by jewelry from J.R. Dunn that gives your look the perfect pizzaz! In my corporate life I often find myself having to make executive presentations. Since I am not a girl who enjoys “power suits” a powerful LBD is my go-to foundation piece for my work look. Adding a classic pearl set and timeless watch says, “I got this- you’re about to watch me shine!”

Sunset Maxi

I don't think there is anything more beautiful than Gulf Coast sunsets on the beach. I love watching these natural moments and reflecting on all the beauty in my day. And can we discuss how beautiful this maxi is?! The minute I laid eyes on this dress my brain shouted "me me me"... and when Old Navy ran a 40% off dresses promo- well it was a no brainer ;) I love the stripes (surprise surprise) and the lightweight, breezy material- It's absolutely perfect for a hot Florida spring!

Mile-Long Maxi

Friends I am head over heels for this maxi dress! The minute I tried it on I felt about 7 feet tall (which for a shorter girl like me is saying something)! Maxi dresses are so great for elongating your figure and hiding a multitude of sins- and they are perfect for a look of easy elegance. I also love that this outfit perfectly matched my Lilly Pulitzer wine glass (a great coincidence, no?). Cheers to Thursday y'all!

Put a Ring on It

In the past year I have really learned the power of a statement-making cocktail ring. There is nothing that gives me more pizzaz than wearing a ring that sparks conversation. Event Recap: JLSP Once Upon a Tea

Sunday was our Junior League's spring tea party and fashion show "Once Upon a Tea"- it was a sold out event and oh-so-much fun! My family came over to join me for the day and it was great to spend time showing them what I love and am so involved in. They even got to see me strut my stuff on the runway! I am so thankful for their love and support!

The weather has been glorious so it was definitely time to take it for a spin. I thought it would be fun to pair it with this lime green tee for an extra dose of bright! Tropical Oasis

Happy Friday Y'all!!

It's the end of a busy week and I felt the best way to celebrate was with a whole lot of color! If I can tell you the truth, I have never in my life owned a pencil skirt! I have always been self-conscious about my curvy hips and felt that pencil skirts just accentuated that fact.  But last summer I fell madly in love with this skirt from LOFT... the tropical print + bright colors were perfect for my wardrobe! When it went on sale for under $10 it was a no brainer! Friends I am so glad I took a chance on this fun piece. Although I am not a convert to pencil skirts I love how this one fits and it has given me a fun, new look in my closet.

It will be a busy weekend over here with the Junior League "Once Upon a Tea Party and Fashion Show" (I'm modeling- eek so excited!!) Can't wait to share this fun event with you next week! Have a wonderful weekend!

Navy + Turq

Navy + Turquoise is one of my newest favorite color combinations; something about these beachy shades looks just perfect together! I have a feeling this won't be the first time you see these colors paired together here! Plus, pattern mixing lace and stripes is the perfect nod to this gorgeous spring we are having (I'm so sorry if it's still snowing where you are!) This floral statement necklace is one of my favorite accessory purchases of the past few month- how can you not wear a big smile when you have a huge bouquet of florals around your neck? :)

Workweek Chic: Bold Colors

I have never subscribed to the notion that workwear has to be boring and full of basic black. Rather I believe that bold, bright colors used correctly are far chicer than neutrals! For me and this dress it was love at first sight! The fun pattern, the fabulous colors, and the conservative cut were perfect for my fashionable office! To combat the office chill I grabbed a black cardigan before I jetted out the door and I was ready to tackle the day.
