Farmer's Market: Gingham + Monograms

Happy Monday y'all! I've kind of got a weird Monday today because I got called for jury duty for the first time! I'm totally dreading it (I mean has anyone every said it was fun?!) but I guess it's my turn seeing as this is the first time I've ever been called! Any tips for me???

Since it's like my weekend has been extended one day, I wanted to share this fun weekend look with y'all from a recent trip to the farmer's market. I'm a believer that casual & comfortable can still be cute and so I jazzed up my gingham + denim with a jazzy gold statement necklace and fringe booties.  Throwing in my favorite scalloped clutch doesn't hurt the look either ;)

Happiest of Fridays!! This week felt like it flew by- can you believe it will be March next week?! I'm pretty excited because March is my birthday month and anyone who knows me knows that I like love my birthday (#birthdaydiva)! I've got a fairly low-key weekend planned: seeing "How to be Single" with some friends, a Black Tie Gala Saturday night & a birthday party! Excited to spend time with so many of my wonderful friends!

Workweek Chic: Black and Pink

I love spicing up my work week wardrobe with bold pops of color (see fuchsia skirt above) as well as prints and patterns (like these fierce leopard heels). This outfit makes getting dressed a little more fun- and don't we all need more of that in our work week? :)

Good as Gold

We started the week talking spring, and now we're going to chat about what to wear when a cold front comes through! (ugh... #notagain)  Now I know I can't complain too much (I do live in sunny Florida after all!) but I still am not pumped for our temps to dip again. So, I've found that resorting to my favorite formula of chambray + excursion vest is an easy win for me.

Spring Transition: LOFT Sailor Shorts + A Spring #OOTD

We've been having the best weather in Florida this past week or two; it starts off in the 50s and gets to mid-70s by the afternoon... it's glorious! However, with that range of temps one has to prepare one's wardrobe so today we're going to chat about spring transitions!

I might be a lot little excited to wear my shorts, but with the cool mornings and nights, I've been adding a long-sleeve tee to ward off the cold. To jazz up this combo and make it more fun, you can add a statement necklace and (monogrammed) clutch for a night out (or girl's afternoon)! This combo has been such a fun one lately and I can't wait for the warm weather to be here to stay!

It may sound funny, but I think "short weeks" (I was off on Monday due to President's Day) end up being the longest weeks of all. I swear it's like everything gets bananas when you're gone for that extra day! So needless today I am so pumped for the weekend :) #popfizzclink

Romper + Boyfriend Cardigan

Y'all know my love for my rompers come spring/summer, so I was having some serious withdraws that it wasn't practical to wear them in the fall/winter months. Then the other weekend I got the (brilliant) idea to throw my fave boyfriend cardigan on top and BOOM, my new weekend uniform was born! I've worn this look so many times it's basically embarrassing at this point, but I also don't plan on stopping anytime soon :) How are you prepping for the change in seasons?

Lilly Pulitzer "Tiger Palm" at Work

The wind was not my friend when trying to capture this outfit! Seriously y'all, it was the hot mess express and in the fight between me and the wind, it was wind- 1, Gentry- 0. Oh well, at least I was able to capture a few shots to share with y'all!

This is a pretty typical workweek look for me- an Elsa top, dress pants, and wedges. It's a pretty simple formula and works every time. There's days when it's fun to go over the top at work, but then there are days when it's just nice to keep it simple. One of my favorite fashion "rules" is "K.I.S.S"- Keep it Simple Silly!

Sorry I wasn't around the last two days; I have a big Junior League presentation tomorrow and work has been super busy, so unfortunately the blog had to take a backseat for a day or two. Sucker for Seersucker

Seersucker is typically a fabric reserved for spring and summer, but I'm all about having some fun and mixing it up- so a winter seersucker vest it is! This one is actually super-warm and very comfy, and throwing it on with a fun skirt makes it appropriate for our Florida weather. For all my northern friends, this would be a great spring transition look too :) I promise y'all... spring is coming!

I think sometimes we forget our worth. When you get caught up in the day to day hustle, the stress and the mess, it can be hard to see yourself for the diamond that you are. But then I read the verse above, and I am humbled and astounded that the Lord looks at me and thinks that I am worth far more than rubies. Even in my sinful nature, even in my struggle and the things that bring me shame, he sees precious value in me. My imperfection doesn't keep him from seeing my true worth. And that is something to hold on to in the hardest of times, and in the best of times, and in all times. You are so worth it all.

Gasparilla Weekend Recap

Last weekend I was able to attend my first Gasparilla since I was in college- and boy it did not disappoint! I mentioned it here, but in case you missed it, Gasparilla is like Mardi Gras but with pirate ships & it's an invasion of Tampa Bay. But I'm not gonna lie, I was in it for the beads! :) It's a crazy street part beforehand, and then a crazy party during and after downtown... really it's all a big crazy party! I'm so glad I got to spend this time with my gal pals- we had so much fun!

Fair Isle & "Real Life"

Lately a lot of my favorite bloggers have been opening up about "real life" and life behind the "perfect lens" you can often see on the blog. It's really been getting me thinking... although it's never my intention to hide things, it's just never as fun to talk about the bad things in life! BUT, in the spirit of being honest, you know how some weeks really kick your butt? This has been one of those weeks! I've been fighting some sort of bug since last week, and Monday night I came down with severe chills and aches. Turns out I got my first ever sinus infection (lucky me)! Add on top of that some situations that are totally out of my comfort zone, and I'm really being stretched and tested in every crevice of my life. 

But it's ok. I remind myself that diamonds are created by pressure, and out of our biggest struggles comes our greatest learnings. So if I can encourage you at all, it would be to get up, dress up, and never give up! :)

Valentine's Day Round-Up

Pink is definitely one of my favorite colors to wear, and add in some red & hearts and I'm totally happy!
