I feel like the alternate title for today's post could be "Sunshine & Summertime" - and it's only March 31st! But as you can see from these photos there is NO shortage of sunny rays here in the Sunshine State! I've got to tell you though, I'm not complaining at all! I live for these long, sunny days.

Due to the 85 degree temperatures, my wardrobe has quickly had to flip over into full-time summer style and includes lots of sundresses, shorts, and tees. The more lightweight the better folks! I recently picked up these seersucker ruffle shorts from J. Crew and I couldn't be more in love! They are super lightweight & have a great stretch, and the ruffle detail on the top and pockets is just the cutest! Since I styled this with blue on blue I thought a pop of pink from my necklace & Oka-B flats would be so much fun! Hey Friends! How is your week going so far? Mine has been just running on by... but what else is new?! Work continues to be crazy- literally our direction/product changes every day- but I love that it keeps me on my toes and busy! I'm so much more productive when I have a really long to-do list (any one else feel me?!) 

But, today I'm leaving the office early and hitting the road for a very special reason... my aunt is launching her own business!! As you (may) know, my Aunt Kelly takes all the pictures you see here on this blog. Her and I get together once a month and shoot 10-13 outfits so I have a "cache" throughout the month of content. Workweek Chic: 5 Ways to Stand Out at The Office

Happy Wednesday friends! Yesterday I ended up having a crazy day at work - if you follow me on Instagram that you saw I was at the studio until almost 1:00 AM because we had a Today's Special launch at midnight for my brand. We were introducing a new guest and I wanted to be there to support her! I was running on about 4 hours of sleep the rest of the day, and then got my end-of-year review! A whole lot to take in :) 

But, as I was speaking with my boss about my successes and opportunities, it got me thinking that I've learned a LOT in the past 7 years of being a professional, and I wanted to share some of that with y'all. When you work in a large corporate office it can be difficult to stand out among all your co-workers. But, I have a few tips that have made a difference for me and have helped me to get noticed (in good ways!) PS- Even if you worked in a smaller office or less traditional environment these tips can still apply!

The One Thing That Never Goes Out Of Style

I think we all have those go-to items in our wardrobe, those things that can always make us feel good. It's probably no surprise, but for me those items of clothing are always Lilly Pulitzer! (Told you it wasn't surprising!) And although the bright colors never fail to make me happy, and the cheeky patterns always make me smile, what I love most is that I feel most like myself when I am wearing these pieces. And when I feel most like me, then I'm the most confident me I can be :) (So cheesy! ha)

When I was planning outfits for this shoot, I started to stress out because frankly, I've been saving & not shopping very much lately- so I didn't have all these amazing brand-new pieces to share. But when I really started thinking about what y'all love to see, you always respond best to things that are most authentically "me" and inspire you to break out colors/patterns/styles that you may not always reach for. So I decided instead to pack up a dress that never fails to make me happy (even though it's a true "vintage" Lilly print) and the truth is I feel the most confident :)

Today is one of my favorite days of the year... My BIRTHDAY!! It's my last year in my twenties and I can hardly believe it! I remember being a little girl and thinking that 30 sounded so old, and that I would be so mature and have it all figured out by then. Now it's a year away and I still don't feel close to having it all together- ha! I certainly don't feel old either ;)

To celebrate, I headed to Raleigh last night with some of my girls for a fun weekend! We've got lots of brunch, wine, and relaxing planned & I can't wait! If you need me I will be laughing, dancing, and toasting to the brand new year of my life and all the excitement and hope it ushers in!

Happy Wednesday! I'm still (currently) in NY and I'm headed home tonight- it's been a busy week here at market and I can't wait to share it with y'all soon! It's a lot of work, but it's definitely fun :) I grabbed drinks last night in the city with my friends Katie for a little pre-birthday celebration... can't believe I will be another year older on Friday!

In other exciting news, I'm thrilled to share this adorable cold-shoulder top with y'all today! I think I became a human heart-eye emoji the minute I saw it, and that love keeps on growing! I think this is a perfect spring to summer top because it pairs well with both casual shorts & could also be dressed up with dark denim and wedges. How cute would this be for a night out?? 

Also, I realized I haven't chatted about it in awhile, but I still love my Kendra Scott Rayne necklace! I get asked about it ALL the time, and whether I think they are worth the price, and the answer is 100% yes, they are so worth it! I own three (this blue, a light pink, and neon pink) and I wear them 1-2 times a week. They always add the perfect pop of color to my outfits too! So if you are still on the fence I hope you take a chance on one; and remember during your birthday month you get 50% off one item in the store! Now what color am I adding to my collection next?!

Hi Friends! Long time, no chat! First off, thank y'all so much for your kind words, support, and encouragement you left on this post. I'm kind of a perfectionist, and I like to put 110% into everything I do, so admitting that I can't do it all and need to balance things better was really hard for me. But all your kind words assured me that I'm making the right choice- and it is so sweet to have your unwavering support!

If I hadn't come to the conclusion to scale back on my own, I think my body was going to let me know I was over-doing it... I came down with an awful cold on Wednesday night and it seriously knocked me out. On Thursday I barely made it through the day and ended up in bed by 8:30! I really missed y'all Friday, but my body desperately needed to recover since my gal Rachael got married on Saturday & I definitely didn't want to miss out on the fun!

Happy March y'all!! I can't believe that we are already three months into the year- time keeps on flying! I'm pretty excited because it's my birthday month - only 9 more days!

I feel like I owe y'all a little bit of a life update- it's been way too long since we caught up. As y'all know, I work full time in corporate retail as an Associate Jewelry Buyer, and with the tough retail environment right now, my job has literally been insane! I've been leaving work at 8 every night and eating, sleeping, and breathing jewelry to try and boost our business. I also accepted a volunteer position as co-chair of membership development for the Junior League (or leading our new member class) which has been taking lots of time and energy. On top of that, I'm chairing a committee for my local Heart Gallery's Fundraiser Gala "Flock to the Trop" (they help foster children find forever homes- a cause very close to my heart). Whew- are you tired yet? Because I sure am!

So why am I telling you all this?!
