Seriously y'all… is there anything better than a classic Lilly dress?! I just look at this dress and I smile! Whenever I need a bit of cheer I can count on Lilly to come through with sunshine! With pattern this bold I keep my accessories simple- I don't want to compete for attention! (Although these neon sandals were the perfect compliment I think! :) )

I Heart New York {Day 3}

Today I am chatting about the "last" day of my sister-sister trip in NYC! (I say "last" day because our real last day was spent traveling for 7 hours so no real fun was had in the city!)

We started off the day early at the Empire State Building so we didn't have to battle the crowds. We pretty much zipped right up to the top and got to see the most incredible 360 degree views of the city from the 85th floor! Mall loved the bird's eye view (and I loved the great photo ops)! #wediditfortheselfie

I Heart New York {Day 2}

Day 2 of our New York trip was the absolute busiest day!! It all began with a 4am wake-up call to get pretty for the Today Show… I'm a HUGE Today fan (I watch it every morning when I am getting ready for work) and since the summer concert series was featuring Jason Mraz Mall and I thought it would be the perfect "new york experience"! It was extra special because my cousin, Marissa, happened to be in NY too and joined us for the fun! I even ran into two of my college friends in the crowd (Britteny M and Marissa G is was SO FUN to see you!)

I Heart New York {Day 1}

I just got back from the absolute BEST trip with my sister to New York!! Mallory just turned 16 and had never been to the Big Apple and it was on her list of dream places to go. I decided that 16 was the perfect age to introduce her to NY - so off we went for 4 fun days!!

Since I'm a little OCD I did have an itinerary for us (hourly and created in Excel, please and thank you)- but I was willing to flex throughout the weekend! It just always helps me to have a plan!

Today I'm going to recap what we did on day one- traveling and shopping throughout the city!! This is Mall and I at the airport ready to get our New York on (pretty perky for 6am)!

Let's Hear it for New York!

I know that I have been a little MIA on the blog lately... time had been speeding past in preparation for my big trip to the Big Apple tomorrow and in trying to get everything ready blogging just had to take a backseat. I always want to make sure I'm producing content that I am proud of, and I didn't want to rush and put forth a half-hearted attempt.

SO... I am off to the city for a wonderful trip with my baby sister! I have a busy itinerary planned for us full of sightseeing and shopping and I know I will have lots of stories and pictures to share when I am back! You can keep up with our adventures on instagram and I will be back to the blog Monday with some fabulous new outfits (and adventures) to share with you!

All About the Bow

I think we all know by now that I like big bows and I cannot lie (ha!) But all joking aside I am a sucker for a great big bow! This dress was actually a bridesmaid's dress for a gorgeous rustic, barn wedding I was in a few years ago, but it continues to be a fan favorite in my closet. In my life equations, seersucker dress + bow = perfection!

Purple People Eater

If you've been reading this blog for any length of time, I think you know by know that solids aren't really "my thing"- I'm a girl who has always thrived wearing patterns and prints. But as I am learning in life lately, sometimes simple really is better. I love this Mint Julep Boutique maxi dress- and I scored it for 40% off over Memorial Day weekend! Once I got it all hemmed up (#shortpeopleproblems) it was time to take it for a spin :) It was easy, breezy, and beautiful - the perfect three adjectives for a hot summer day!

Planning for NY: Lady Liberty

As I mentioned earlier this week, my baby sister and I are headed to New York next week to celebrate her Sweet 16! This is on Mallory's "dream list" of places to travel to and I am so excited that the two of us are going to experience it together! We have a packed agenda… and of course seeing Lady Liberty is on the top! I'm already outfit planning and believe a red, white, and blue look is perfect for seeing the Statue of Liberty. I can't wait to share all the pictures from our trip with you!

Jumping Jack Flash

Well friends, there is no question about it… jumpsuits are where it's at! I absolutely adore them and love this adorable one I found at Old Navy a few weeks ago. Unfortunately it sold out very quick but I did my best to link some similar ones below (and ones that I just love). 

I'm taking my baby sister to New York next week for her 16th birthday and I plan on packing this cute lil number for our day of sightseeing- I'll be perfect for all the monuments we plan to see! Any recommendations of places to go/things we must see while we are there?

The Middleton Pant

One of my favorite trends this year has been printed pants- I'm loving the breezy, lightweight, cheery style that these pants bring to my everyday! One fabulous aspect of this style is that these pants can be dressed up or down. Because I am only 5'4 I had to hem these pants to a length that was wearable with flats, but you could absolutely leave them longer and wear with wedges and a dressier blouse for the office! I really love them as a casual alternative to a maxi dress for a day filled with shopping (which happen to be my favorite days).

Casual Cool

Do you every have those days when you totally wish it was casual Friday, but then you remember it's only Wednesday? Well folks today is one of those days! I'm totally craving shorts and my favorite snuggly tee today, but instead I'm putting on my dress and wedges for the office (#realitybites). You can be sure that this weekend this outfit is exactly what I will be living in! What is your go-to casual look?

Nautical Navy

With Independence Day on Friday I have some serious red, white, and blue on the brain! Since navy is one of my favorite colors to wear, and nautical is my favorite style, this dress is pure 4th of July perfection!

Speaking of the 4th- do y'all have any fun plans? This is going to be the first weekend in several weeks that the only thing on my agenda is relaxation… and I'm pretty stoked about that! I plan on shopping for my trip to NY in a few weeks, laying out, visiting the beach, and loving on the pup. Is it Friday yet?? ha!
