Workweek Chic: Navy & Lime

Skirt: J. Crew (fall version here) || Top: J. Crew || Wedges: Tory Burch (currently 20% off) || Apple Watch with this band || Earrings: Fab'rik (similar here) || Clutch: Shandy Style

Goodness y'all- I'm so sorry I've been MIA from this sweet space lately! I thought once I was back and settled from the Hurricane evacuations everything would fall into place, but nope! Definitely not the case!

However, I can slowly but surely feel myself finding my groove again and I'm thrilled to be doing it today and bringing you this fun work look! As I always say, you don't have to hide your personality (or love for color!) in the workplace- you can definitely let it shine! The easiest way to do it is with pieces like I am wearing today: a tank in a classic silhouette but a bright pop of color & a neutral skirt with flirty ruffles. Both of these pieces clearly express my personality but also are appropriate for the corporate retail office in which I spend all my 9-5 time.

Speaking of work- I have some HUGE things in the works (one of which starts today) so I would be so thankful if y'all could keep my in your prayers! I know that wasn't a lot of detail, but if it all works out I will have so much to spill! :)

Workweek Chic: All Shades of Blue

Top: J. Crew Factory (old, great option here) || Skirt: J. Crew (on SALE and in-stock in all sizes!) || Wedges: Tory Burch || Apple Watch with this band || Gold Bangle: Kate Spade

Well y'all, it has been a HOT minute since I shared a workweek look here on the blog, but I am thrilled to say that work style is back here on Girl Meets Bow!! I think for the past few months I've been pretty uninspired by my workweek wardrobe, which means that it's been hard to find pretty new pieces to share with y'all. But that's changing today!

Lately I have been on a skirt-buying kick, which has given me all sorts of inspiration for my work week! Let's take today's double stripe skirt shall we? I'm such a sucker for a good stripe, and the alternate stripes on this piece are too much fun! For these pictures I decided to keep it "neutral" an pair it with a coordinating shade of blue, but a crisp white oxford or blouse, or a bold pop of color would also be beautiful! Since the skirt is cotton though, you could also dress it down for your weekends with a casual tee and sandals. It really is a skirt that will "do it all!" (Which is what I need in my wardrobe!)

What's your favorite piece you've bought lately for work?

Let's Catch Up! + $500 Nordstrom GIVEAWAY!

Skirt: J. Crew || Tee: old, similar here || Sandals: Sam Edelman Gigi || 42mm Apple Watch with This Band || Bangles: Bourbon and Bowties || Necklace: Kendra Scott Rayne

Happy Wednesday friends! I feel like I have so much to catch up with you on- so let's get to some super random ramblings, shall we?

My girl Biana recently recommended the new show The Bold Type, and after episode 1 I was hooked! It's like a mix of Sex and the City & How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and such a fun show! It's loosely based on Joanna Coles (the Editor in Chief of Cosmo) so it's a peek behind the scenes of a women's fashion and lifestyle magazine (although let's be real- it's totally exaggerated!) - but I love it regardless. There's only three episodes so far, so still plenty of time if you want to catch up.

Stylish Casual Wear

Tee: Loft || Shorts: J. Crew (on sale for $30! & also available in ruffled pink) || Shoes: Converse || Necklace: c/o Shop Gameday Glam || Apple Watch || Tassel Earrings: c/o Shop Gameday Glam

One thing people never tell you about getting older? That your weekend wear can't be lived in sweatpants! ha. I mean, technically you can wear whatever you please, but in a "big" small town like mine you are always bound to run into someone you know- which means being pulled together at all times! :) But let's be real, after a long workweek we also want major comfort on the weekends. That's where today's casual outfit comes into play!

I picked up these seersucker shorts earlier this season and feel like they were much needed in my wardrobe. It's so hard to find conservative shorts that are still young and fun- but also mature! (Can anyone else feel me on this struggle?!) For a pulled together weekend look I added my favorite white tee (seriously y'all, it's lightweight & NOT see-through!) and my Converse sneakers. Tip: my Converse had gotten super dirty so I tossed them in the washer and let them air dry and they are good as new! Now I'm ready to run into anyone who may cross my path in town ;)

Dressing Room Diary + SALES!

Alright friends, I'm going to give you a warning... today's Dressing Room Diaries is a DOOZY! There are so many cute new arrivals in stores lately that I have a ton to share with you! Grab a big 'ol cup of joe and let's jump right in!

{For reference, everything is TTS unless I mention otherwise. I'm 5'4 and normally wear a small/med/size 4-6 in the stores listed below! I will make sure to let you know what size I'm wearing for each item so that you can make a judgement call on sizing :) }

LOFT
Wanted to give y'all the head's up that LOFT is currently having it's Friends and Family sale, which means that everything is 40% off with code "FRIENDS"- so everything you see below is now on sale! woo-hoo!

Floral Romper- Wearing size medium. I live in rompers for spring/summer so I thought this was a fun new pattern to add to my romper wardrobe. I tried to get y'all a shot of the back too as I love the fun criss-cross detail!

Weekend Plans with Oka-B

Tee: Merona || Shorts: J. Crew (fits TTS, also come in some great solid colors) || Flats: c/o Oka-B "Easton" Flat (use code"OKABGIRL16" for 20% off!) || Sunglasses: Target || Apple Watch || Bangles: Bourbon & Bowties || Cup: Sunnylife (love this!!) || Necklace: Kendra Scott

I feel like the alternate title for today's post could be "Sunshine & Summertime" - and it's only March 31st! But as you can see from these photos there is NO shortage of sunny rays here in the Sunshine State! I've got to tell you though, I'm not complaining at all! I live for these long, sunny days.

Due to the 85 degree temperatures, my wardrobe has quickly had to flip over into full-time summer style and includes lots of sundresses, shorts, and tees. The more lightweight the better folks! I recently picked up these seersucker ruffle shorts from J. Crew and I couldn't be more in love! They are super lightweight & have a great stretch, and the ruffle detail on the top and pockets is just the cutest! Since I styled this with blue on blue I thought a pop of pink from my necklace & Oka-B flats would be so much fun! Oka-B just launched their spring line and it's adorable- all the bright colors are making my colorful heart so happy! Don't forget you can get 20% off any shoes at Oka-B with code "OKABGIRL16"!

I'm extending my birthday month as long as possible by heading home today to celebrate the March babies in my family- my mom, sister, and me! I can't wait to see them and celebrate :) What are y'all up to?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Pink Tee: J. Crew (option here) || Skirt: J. Crew (option 1/2/3 also how darling are these pants as an alternative?!) || Red Bag: Kate Spade (option here) || Tennis Shoes: Converse || Necklace: c/o Marley Lilly || Apple Watch

Happy Valentine's day y'all!! It's no surprise that I love this day of love- I mean hello I'm obsessed with the color pink! But more than that, I love that today is a great reminder to tell those in our lives how much we love them & they mean to us (and I'm not just talking about our significant others). Although we should be telling them everyday, we all know how busy life gets, so slowing down and "sharing the love" is so important!

Even though I'm single this year, I'm embracing the "Galentine's" idea and headed out to grab drinks with some friends of mine, so I'm excited for the fun! What plans do you have for tonight?

The Hottest Top of the Season

Top: J. Crew (still available via Nordstrom) // Jeans: J. Crew Toothpick // Booties: Vince Camuto (almost exact) // Clutch: Sophie & Trey (old, very similar) // Apple Watch

So, like most things in my closet, this top totally has a story behind it. In early December I was starting my Christmas shopping and (of course) wandered into J. Crew. The second I walked in I spotted my favorite sales associate wearing this AMAZING hot pink buffalo check top! Y'all know I am drawn to color like a moth to a flame, so I ran over as quick as I could and asked if she could please make my day and tell me this was coming to the store soon?? One better, she said it was in the back waiting to be put out Monday and went and snagged one for me in my size. It's no surprise I was smitten from the moment I saw it! In the midst of all the dark and neutral colors this season, this top simply makes me happy- and sometimes that's just what you need!

Nice and Neutral

Tee: Gap (almost exact) // Skirt: J. Crew Factory // Vest: Old Navy (sold out, similar on sale) // Necklace: gifted Kture Accessories // Booties: Target

Happy Thursday y'all! This week has been hurtling by at the speed of light and I'm barely keeping up! I'm also a little stressed out at how being I am on Christmas shopping (and how there are only like 10 days left to get it all done)! Anyone else feel me?!

On a few occasions lately I've found myself reaching for a natural palate (totally out of character, I know!) and this outfit is the result of one of those brainstorming sessions. I think maybe my white and creams have something to do with me wishing there was a hint of snow on the ground down here... it's currently 80 with no sign of a cool down! So what do you do when your heart says "dress me in layers" and your head says "No silly, it's swimsuit weather?!" You reach for light layers like these! #Compromise

I also have to take a minute and mention my gorgeous necklace from KTure Accessories. My sweet friend Katy started this amazing jewelry collection and a few months ago gifted me one of them as a thank you for an event we worked on. I instantly went gaga for it and still get so many compliments every time I wear it! If you're looking for something unique, be sure to check out her gorgeous shop

J. Crew Striped Top + Oka-B Giveaway WINNER!

Top: J. Crew // Jeans: J. Crew "Toothpick" Jeans // Clutch: Marley Lilly (sold out, similar style monogrammed clutch) // Flats: c/o Oka-B Sutton // Apple Watch

Happy Monday!! Today is full of fun, not only do I have a brand new look share with you (Can you even believe those ruffles?!), but I also get to share the winner of my Oka-B giveaway!! Drumroll please... Ashley E! I will be emailing you to claim your prize today so be on the lookout :) You have 48 hours to email me back! Thank you to everyone for supporting the blog and entering the giveaway!

Now onto today's new look :) I kind of flipped out the minute I saw this gorgeous top- I mean, can you even with those ruffles?! I couldn't order it fast enough once it went on sale on Black Friday!! And then I had to wait, and wait, and wait for it to come in (sad face). I was SO nervous that I wouldn't come in in time for these photos... but it just made it before I left the house! #Praise

Also, can I just gush for a minute on these jeans?! I have such a hard time finding jeans that fit my curves, but last time I was in J. Crew my girl Anne Marie suggested I try the "Toothpick" style. Let's be honest, nothing about me is a toothpick, so I wasn't too sure, but she assured me that it only referred to the skinny leg and that they were a great fit. And y'all she was so right! I seriously can't rave enough about the comfort, stretch, and overall fit!

My Weekend Uniform + $1,000 Target GIVEAWAY!!

Chambray: J. Crew Factory // Pants: Lilly Pulitzer (another option here) // Boots: Sam Edelman Penny- I wear the wide calf version // Necklace: RJ Graziano (option here) // Crossbody: Old Navy

Wow y'all- today could seriously not be packed with more fun!! Tuesdays are always kind of blah, so I'm changing that with two exciting things...

ONE. Today's look! Goodness y'all, I could not love today's outfit more if I tried and to be quite honest, although it may be it's first time on the blog, it's definitely not the first (or last) time I've worn it in "real" life! I'm such a sucker for a great chambray top, and believe it's the answer to any closet question, and i'm fan-girling over the tunic length of this top- it makes it perfect for leggings! Also, how many times do I have to wear these pants before it becomes a serious addiction?! Pretty sure I'm one wear away from a 12-Step program- ha!

TWO. I've teamed up with some fun gals for a HUGE giveaway that's sure to make your holiday season more merry and bright! Scroll to the bottom of this post for all the details on how to enter :)

The First Day of Football Season + Target GIVEAWAY!

Plaid: J. Crew (similar here under $30) // Jeans: Loft // Sandals: Palm Beach Sandals // Apple Watch // Necklace: Target (old, similar here)

Goodness y'all... Thank you SO much for all your sweet comments and fun feedback on yesterday's post! I have so much fun getting more personal with you and I'm looking forward to bringing you more posts that share more about me and my life behind the blog!

But today I am super excited because I get to talk to you about something else I am crazy passionate about- Gator football!! If you're new around here, I'm a University of Florida alumni & I LIVE for college football season & cheering on my boys in orange and blue!! So what better way to kick off football season than talking about tailgate style?? :)

Now if you're thinking, "Gentry, isn't it too hot to wear jeans in Florida right now?"  You would be right! But at the beginning of the season no tailgate style is cute, because it ends up drenched in sweat (after all our stadium is called The Swamp)! ha! So today I'm sharing more "mid-season" style - when the weather finally cools off! Since I'm an alumni now (#SoOld) I like to play up the "preppy/collegiate" style and this button up is perfect for that! Paired with cuffed jeans and gold sandals, it's a great look for partaking in all the tailgating fun before the game & cheering on my boys during all 4 quarters!

Workweek Chic: Big Ruffles and Black and White

Tank: J. Crew Factory (option 1 here & option 2 here) // Skirt: J. Crew (option 1 here & option 2 here) // Flats: Tory Burch Reva c/o Shopbop // Clutch: Old Navy // Apple Watch

I adore spicing up my workweek wardrobe with bold ruffles and fun patterns - it makes the everyday more fun! On their own, these pieces could easily be dressed down, but together they are a sassy statement - and that statement is "I'm here to impress!" Since I'm often off to meetings or drinks after hours, I love to throw a clutch in my larger tote so that I'm ready to go when the day is done. I also really like that the blue and black here is a little unexpected (no looking like a bruise!) and as long as your shades are different you're good to go!

The Brighter the Better

Tee: J. Crew Factory (love this option and this one too) // Skirt: J. Crew (same color here) // Tennis Shoes: Target (original version here) // Apple Watch // Sunnies: Target (under $20!)

You know how they say, "Everything's bigger in Texas?" Well I'm thinking we need to make, "Everything's brighter in Florida" a thing! ;) Because, when the sun is shining this brightly, how can you not grab your brightest looks and rock 'em?

I normally wear this skirt much dressier for the office, so I thought it would be fun to dress it down with a graphic tee and tennies for an easy weekend look. The end result was fun, bright, and so perfect for these 90 degree days (that's right y'all- it's already in the nineties here!!)

Pretty in Pink (& Stripes)

Happy Tuesday y'all! I'm super duper pumped this morning, because even though I had to wake up at 3 AM I'm on my way to New York!! It's just for 48 hours, and it's for work, but I still am super excited to spend time in the Big Apple! The weather is supposed to be pretty gorgeous and I packed workout gear so that I can take an early morning stroll and enjoy being in NYC :) My days are pretty packed while I'm there, but are there any must-eat, must-shop places to go if I have a hot second?

Spring Scallops + Happy Birthday Mom!

This spring weather is becoming too fabulous for words... so I'll keep it simple, "I love it!" :)

I'm also loving the Riviera shorts collection from the Loft- they fit like a dream (especially with my hippy hips) and they have been coming out with so many fun colors and patterns. The first pair I bought this season was this scalloped pair, and I've been head-over-heels for them since first sight! I love that they are the perfect neutral (black, duh) but the scallop edge gives them a little something "extra" :)

Ahoy Mateys!

Happy hump day y'all! I'm super excited about today's outfit and photos because they coincide with  Gasparilla this weekend- which, if you don't know, is a "pirate invasion" in Tampa, Florida. Think Mardi Gras but with pirate ships... so fun, right?! I actually haven't been since college (oy vey those memories...) so I'm super excited to pop-fizz-clink the weekend away while yelling "ahoy matey" and stacking up those beads! Plus, one of my favorite gal pals is coming back into town for the weekend! Best weekend ever!

NY Trip Day 2: Work Style

For my second day in NYC for work I needed to "work with what I had" a little bit. Since I only had a carry-on to travel with I couldn't let my chronic overpacking tendencies come out to play and had to streamline my outfits. I decided to keep with the same boots/tights look from the day before (new pair of tights though!!) and add on a new sweater and skirt combo. Easy peasy and perfect for meetings and more travel back home!
