So Snappy!

Let's all give a "heck yes" to it being Friday shall we?! :) As you're reading this I'm still at Atlanta Americasmart and I'm going to guess that my feet are probably DYING after the miles of walking (literally)! This is the biggest show in the country and my boss and I are hitting every single booth looking for the next great item to bring in for the holiday season. Any guesses what we've found so far?

Alright, now let's chat Lilly Pulitzer & the must-have set you need! The past few collections from Lilly haven't done much for me, but this summer season she is pulling out all the stops (and making a big 'ol dent in my wallet)! Normally she doesn't do a lot of purple prints, but this season she created "So Snappy" (can you spot the turtles?!) and I quickly fell in love! Rather than go the traditional route of ordering a dress, I decided to purchase this tank and these shorts for a fun matching set! I love sets because you have the freedom to wear both pieces independently but you also can pair them together for a fun look too! This gives you all the look of a romper without leaving you naked when you have to you to the bathroom (#realgirltalk)! ha.

What are your thoughts on matching sets? Love 'em? Hate 'em?

Sweet as Can "Bee"

Top: J. Crew (sold out, love this option & this one too!) || Shorts: Loft (sold out, this is my favorite option & this one is also so cute) || Sandals: Palm Beach Sandals || Sunglasses: Target || Apple Watch

Yay for making it half way through the week! Last night was a late one- my bible study girls got together for a social and we laughed so hard my stomach hurt! All of a sudden we checked our watches and went, "how did it become 10PM?!" Time really does fly when you are having FUN! And we sure were :) Thankful for them!

Now on today's outfit! I saw these darling embroidered bee shorts in Loft a few weeks ago, but the store didn't have my size. Luckily I scored them online- because they sold out only days later! I kept hoping they would be restocked, but alas it doesn't look like they will be, so I'm sorry about that! Luckily it looks like bows will continue to be big details this season, so i've found some really cute options for you if you're wanting to recreate this look. I'm just loving all these girly details!

Beach Hair, Don't Care

Dress: Blue Door Boutique "Charmer Lace Up" Dress (also love this and this) // Hat: Seaside Boutique (love this and this) // Apple Watch (not waterproof- so don't dunk it in the ocean!)

Normally the Monday blues don't hit me very hard (I usually wake up ready to take the bull by the horns) but this weekend was to relaxing and refreshing that I'm just wishing I had more time to savor that loveliness! I was able to have a fun girl's night with some sweet friends I hadn't seen in awhile,  take a high-intensity Zumba class, head to my new church (which I love SO much!) and got a surprise lunch date with my family. So much goodness packed into 2 days, and plenty of time to rest  as well (#muchneeded). But alas, here we are starting a new week- let the fun begin!

Tropical Print Romper

Romper: Loft (old, great option here) // Necklace: Kendra Scott Rayne // Wedges: Altar'd State // Clutch: c/o Marley Lilly // Apple Watch // Bangles: Bourbon and Bowties

Hey y'all! So sorry I was MIA yesterday... I've mentioned a few times, but work is seriously kicking my behind and it means that sometimes me personal life falls behind. When I logged on to my computer to get my blog post ready I realized I was WAY behind in answering emails (#oops) so I spent the night catching up - and I can't tell you how good it feels! I'm trying to keep up with it all, but it can sure get hard y'all!

Any who... on to today's look! My closet is no stranger to bright, bold patterns, so it can't be a surprise that I scooped this one up as soon as I saw it! This one is actually from Loft a summer or two ago, but when I came across it NWT on Poshmark I could't resist! (Side note: I'm kind of obsessed with both buying & selling on Poshmark- so many good deals!!) Paired with my new & super comfy wedges and trusty monogram clutch- this is a great summer night out look!

Summer Colors: Pink + Turquoise

Pink Polo: Tracy Negoshian // Turquoise Striped Skirt: Loft (old, similar here) // Gold Sandals: Sophie & Trey // Aviators: Target // Apple Watch // Bangles: Bourbon and Bowties

Lately I've been trying to shop my closet a little more and trying to find new ways to wear some of my tried and true pieces. I've got lots of expenses that will be coming my way soon (I'm trying to buy new living rom and bedroom furniture) so I've got to keep my shopping in moderation- which is no easy feat for me! So, I got really excited when I realized that shopping my closet brought together today's colorful and fresh look!

For me, adding brights on top + brights on bottom = a winning combination! I love the way the pink and turquoise compliment each other, and some simple gold accessories bring it all together. Do you have any tips for shopping your closet? Or saving money? I'll take any help I can get! :)

Endless Summer with All for Color

This weekend Florida got it's very first taste of fall and y'all it was SO GOOD! I actually walked Buddy without sweating to death and was able to wear sleeves- what a dream! :) I'm not pulling out my sweater collection just yet (it is still Florida after all) but I'm definitely enjoying these last few weeks of "summer" because sure enough a new season is coming! Can I get a whoop whoop?!

Y'all know I'm all about supporting local business emerging designers and philanthropies, so I'm super excited that today's look features several amazing new companies! First off, this darling dress is from the Florida brand, All for Color, and their bright and colorful designs will make you think of your favorite beach vacations anytime you wear them! (Plus, because they are dolls the girls have given me code "AFCSTYLE20" for 20% off your purchase) Next, I'm bananas for these Ikwetta sandals that give back to local artisans with each and every purchase. When you pick up a pair of sandals, you're getting a finely crafted shoe (mine are real leather!) but you also can walk with confidence knowing that you are supporting artisans around the globe! Finally, a sweet Junior League friend of mine has launched her own jewelry line, MarleighGrace, and it's so fun! I've been wearing these tassel bracelets non-stop since receiving them and I don't see that changing anytime soon!

Let's Cha Cha

My aunt is a huge fan of accessories, and while she loved the colors of this outfit, when we went to take these pictures she said it needed a "little something extra." So, we raided her basket of headbands and saw this flower beauty and BOOM! That was what this needed! I instantly felt ready to boogie (in fact half of these pictures ended up too blurry to post because I was twirling and dancing so much!) Sometimes all it takes is a statement-making accessory to take an outfit from run-of-the-mill to extra-special!

Black and White Mixed Stripes

If you've been hanging with me for a bit this summer, than you know that besides rompers, swing dresses have been my jam this season (as evidenced here and here). Well like the good friend that I am I have another fabulous one to share with you today (I can't keep all this goodness to myself)! Even better news is that this dress is under $20 with the code "SWEETDEAL" (see I told you I was a good friend :) ) !

In other super-exciting news… Scandal season 4 is now on Netflix! I started watching a few months ago & got super obsessed! Now I'm racing to catch up on season 4 so that I'm ready when it comes back September 24th. #byefreetime  Any other gladiators out there?!

Loft Medallion Romper

I think you can tell from the pictures, but I had so much fun shooting this outfit! The beach is totally my happy place (and wearing a romper on the beach is double the fun)! And how can one not smile huge when wearing a big floppy sunhat?! Literally, all these factors make it impossible to frown! :)

Did any of y'all watch the premiere of Bachelor in Paradise last night? I can already see all the train wrecks coming (hellooooo... Ashley I) but there are some adorable cast members there (Tanner I'm looking at you)! I'm also so excited to see Tenley again- she is one of my favorites on the show and I was so sad when Kiptyn broke her heart. I hope she find love on #BIP! Who do you love so far?

Summer Dresses

So who watched the Bachelorette last night? I was crushed to see Ben H. go home, but I honestly thought he was too nice for Kaitlyn and have no doubt that he is in the running for the next Bachelor (or at least will have every girl in his hometown lined up for him!) This season has been so weird! They've been in Ireland for most of this season - what happened to the travel budget?? And all this Shawn and Nick drama makes me think no one is really "in love" (but maybe very in lust!) And then the hometowns were in a random hotel in Utah- not even the guy's home towns! I'm shaking my noggin' y'all! Do you watch? Are you #teamShawn or #teamNick? I'm casting my vote for #teamShawn but have a sinking suspicion that Nick is going to take this one…

Now onto the clothes!

I'm pretty honest that dresses are my summer jam. They make getting dressed (and keeping cool) super easy- which are two very important qualities in summer clothing! When I think about summer elegance my mind instantly goes to maxi dresses, with their movement and drape they are just so sophisticated. What is your go-to look to achieve summer elegance?

Summer Style: Loft Red Embroidered Swing Dress

Y'all swing dresses are just about the only thing helping me to beat the heat these days! I don't know how your temps are going, but Florida's are Hot Hot Hot!! When I spotted this cute red number at the Loft, I had to snatch it up (and the 50% off didn't hurt!) The breezy, floaty shape is the best for the summer & I can't get enough. Sidenote: you can also eat as much as you want when wearing one & no one can tell ;)

Vacation Time!

Although I work in the corporate world & summer vacations are now a thing of the past, many of my friends and colleagues with children are celebrating the beginning of the summer season of travel! I thought today it would be fun to share a bright and sunny vacation look with y'all that would be perfect for any tropical or beachy trip you are taking this summer! (As you can clearly see, "season" is already in full swing in Florida!)

When it's so darn hot out I reach for the most light-weight and light-colored dresses in my closet to try and "beat the heat"! I'm a fan of keeping my jewelry simple because aint no one wanting to be sweating underneath their bangles! ha! So today's #ootd should perfectly fit the bill! :)

{PS- If you have fun summer travel plans tell me about them! I'm going to live vicariously through you!}

Weekend Jam

Well friends, another Monday is here! I don't know about you but I'm already dreaming of Friday!

This past Saturday was a super busy one- between going back and forth to Lakeland to take blog pictures, running errands, getting end of the year Junior League gifts, and prepping for a big night out I needed to throw on an outfit that put the "fun" in functional! (Is that the worst joke you've heard in awhile- oops! ;) ) Well, this maxi dress was perfect for all the running around I needed to do! It was light & breezy but cute enough to stop in all the boutiques I needed to visit and make me feel oh-so-ready for summer!

The Best Laid Plans...

Do you ever have one of those weekends were you think you are going to accomplish everything… but somehow that just doesn't happen? Yeah… this was one of those weekends! So sorry for the radio silence yesterday, but I'm back and ready to rock and roll! :)

She Sells Sea Shells

When you have the perfect dress for the perfect occasion, doesn't it make for the BEST DAY EVER?! I'd been saving this dress for the "perfect" time and it finally came along when I went to the beach a few weekends ago. Come on now… sand dollars and seashells? It was a match made in heaven!

The Middleton Pant

One of my favorite trends this year has been printed pants- I'm loving the breezy, lightweight, cheery style that these pants bring to my everyday! One fabulous aspect of this style is that these pants can be dressed up or down. Because I am only 5'4 I had to hem these pants to a length that was wearable with flats, but you could absolutely leave them longer and wear with wedges and a dressier blouse for the office! I really love them as a casual alternative to a maxi dress for a day filled with shopping (which happen to be my favorite days).
