The Perfect Easter Dresses

It's crazy how fast this year is flying by! One minute we're ringing in the New Year, and the next it's time to put on our Sunday best for Easter!

Easter is always such a special holiday in my family because not only do we celebrate Jesus' resurrection (and all the hope that it brings to us) but we also celebrate all the March/April birthdays in our clan- so it's a special weekend full of celebration and family! (I also don't hate that it makes my birthday last a wee bit longer ;) )

In case you're like me and you only just started thinking about what you're going to wear this weekend (#toobusy #oops), today i'm sharing my picks for floral dresses, white dresses, and the "finishing touches" for any Easter look! How will you be celebrating?

6 Spring Wardrobe Essentials

I'm still in New York for work today (see you tonight Florida!) so I thought it would be fun to round up a few spring essentials. But, I cannot tell a lie... I started this post thinking it would be "5 Essentials for Spring" but then I just had to add a romper in (my current favorite wardrobe item) , and then I couldn't resist the accessories... so here we are with "6 Essentials for Spring" + a Bonus item ;) But you don't mind right... more cute things to look at!

Spring Transition: LOFT Sailor Shorts + A Spring #OOTD

We've been having the best weather in Florida this past week or two; it starts off in the 50s and gets to mid-70s by the afternoon... it's glorious! However, with that range of temps one has to prepare one's wardrobe so today we're going to chat about spring transitions!

I might be a lot little excited to wear my shorts, but with the cool mornings and nights, I've been adding a long-sleeve tee to ward off the cold. To jazz up this combo and make it more fun, you can add a statement necklace and (monogrammed) clutch for a night out (or girl's afternoon)! This combo has been such a fun one lately and I can't wait for the warm weather to be here to stay!

LOFT Printed Romper

Last night was the most exciting of nights! I shared with y'all on May 1st that I became president of the Junior League of St Petersburg, but last night was our annual dinner meeting & it became "officially official" as I like to say ;) Tuesdi, our outgoing president, passed the gavel to me and now the fun begins! I'm so excited to celebrate our league's 85th Anniversary year along with some of the most amazing ladies! I will definitely be sharing more about this journey in the future :)

Now onto today's romper… I have this romper in several patterns (hashtag love it once buy it twice three times) and it truly is a staple of my closet! The comfort level is unmatched! I styled it casually today, but I wore it out a few weekends ago by dressing it up with wedges and it was perfect for that too! (Although warning: going to the bathroom in this romper is a pain in the booty because there are about 1367392364 buttons up the front!) I love a piece that transitions seamlessly to any occasion!

Baby You're a Firework!

Thank y'all so much for your overwhelmingly positive feedback to Monday's Dressing Room Diaries post! I was super excited to put it together and it made my heart so happy that y'all loved it too! Now I'm super excited to work on round two :)

Today's look was fun to put together, because I challenged myself to take a skirt I typically wore to work, and make it weekend appropriate. By swapping out my typical blouse for a tee and my flats for sandals, this look is adaptable to running errands, shopping, or wherever your weekend takes you!

Easter Dress Ideas + A Reason to Rejoice

I have always loved Easter Sunday; it is just such a special holiday to spend time with my family and celebrate our risen Savior! Fashion wise, it always seems to salute spring's arrival with pinks, greens, and yellows covering sundresses and metallic and nude wedges being the footwear of choice. I've rounded up some great dresses and wedges for you below- any of these would be perfect for Easter service! And then read on, because this day has a beautiful reason to rejoice!

I've got so many emotions running through me today as I get another year closer to 30 "wiser", but mainly I'm just excited to celebrate! 26 was a roller-coaster of a year, and I'm hoping this fresh new year brings a whole lot of joy and happiness :) But for today, it's all about the #popfizzclink !

Spring Style with rue21

When I was in college, my girlfriends and I absolutely loved going to Destin, FL for spring breaks and summer getaways. It was an easy 5 hour drive (which flies by when when your with your besties) and every time we went those tripes became some of my favorite memories. We'd lay out on the beach all morning, shop all afternoon, and enjoy fun nights out- the perfect vacations in my book!

You know how stores and sights can conjure up those beloved memories? That's what happens every time I pass a rue21! Theres a great shopping area right across from the beach in Destin, and before we'd hit the beach we'd stop in rue21 to pick up cover-ups, flip flops, and new swimsuits before we hit the sand. It kind of became a ritual for us! So now, every time I see the black and white logo I'm taken back to those carefree days of college with the girls who are my best friends for life!

Today I thought it would be fun to round up some of my favorite rue21 looks for hitting the sand, and shopping after (Since it's what we loved to do the most)!

You Never Forget Your First

As you probably have seen by now, Lilly Pulitzer's spring campaign's tagline is "you never forget your first". I love the nostalgia this question evokes as it brings Lilly lovers back to all the "firsts" they experienced while wearing their Lilly (first loves, first dances, first communions... the list goes on and on!)

Well today I'm sharing a "first" of my Lilly dresses- my first Lilly that was gifted to me! I remember how excited I was when I saw the signature Lilly wrapping and how I squealed with glee when I unwrapped it and saw this lil number inside! I had fallen hard for these sailboats and I was so excited that this dress was going to enter my outfit rotation! What a fun and thoughtful gift that I still cherish all these years later!

Friends I hope that your life is filled with the most wonderful "firsts"- and that you take time to celebrate each of them!

The First Day of Spring

It's a wonderful day today! Do you know why?? It's officially this first day of Spring! Hooray!

Although it's been feeling like spring for quite some time here in Florida (sorry to rub it in my Northern friends) there is something about it "officially" becoming Spring that gets me so excited- the bright and colorful clothes will be coming out in droves and there is going to be sunshine every day- what joy!

There is no better way to celebrate my favorite season than by wearing my favorite designer... the fabulous Lilly Pulitzer. This dress is such a staple in my closet- the shirtdress design is super easy and comfortable to wear and I can dress it up or down in a snap. Plus who doesn't love this bright and colorful design?!

What I'm Loving Lately: CYNTHIA, Cynthia Rowley

If you're not from the south then you may have never heard of a great department store called Belk. About a year ago Belk began revamping its marketing campaign (and its image) and now advertises that it is the headquarters for "Modern, Southern Style". They carry all of your favorite designers plus some great local southern lines - it's a great place to shop!

Well I was pursuing their website this week and saw tons of fabulous pieces from their CYNTHIA by Cynthia Rowley line and I was hooked! The best part? All these below pieces are on super-sale currently! Here is what I am coveting this week:

A fun, flirty dress for Spring (here)
