Summer Dresses

So who watched the Bachelorette last night? I was crushed to see Ben H. go home, but I honestly thought he was too nice for Kaitlyn and have no doubt that he is in the running for the next Bachelor (or at least will have every girl in his hometown lined up for him!) This season has been so weird! They've been in Ireland for most of this season - what happened to the travel budget?? And all this Shawn and Nick drama makes me think no one is really "in love" (but maybe very in lust!) And then the hometowns were in a random hotel in Utah- not even the guy's home towns! I'm shaking my noggin' y'all! Do you watch? Are you #teamShawn or #teamNick? I'm casting my vote for #teamShawn but have a sinking suspicion that Nick is going to take this one…

Now onto the clothes!

I'm pretty honest that dresses are my summer jam. They make getting dressed (and keeping cool) super easy- which are two very important qualities in summer clothing! When I think about summer elegance my mind instantly goes to maxi dresses, with their movement and drape they are just so sophisticated. What is your go-to look to achieve summer elegance?

Enjoy the Ride

You know, lately I've been thinking that it's all too easy to get caught up in the negative of the world. It can be easy to get dragged into the muck and let hard experiences get you down. Take this weekend for example, I had a great weekend home celebrating one of my best girls and my awesome dad, but on the way home I found out my debit card number had been stolen and my account was frozen while they investigated the fraud and are sending me a new card. And if this hasn't happened to you, let me just tell y'all it's a colossal pain in the booty!! I do all my banking and bill pays through my debit card online and I'm going to have to update everything- uuggghhh! It would be easy to go into a funk. It would be easy to be a crabby-pants about it. But instead I'm choosing to find the good! I'm relishing in 7-10 days (however long it takes to get my new card to me- ha!) in which I can't shop, so I'm embracing what I have. I'm taking Buddy on extra-long walks & taking myself on extra-long runs. I'm enjoying extra time with friends. And you know what? It feels good! Great even!

I always like to keep in mind one of my favorite quotes, "Life is like riding a bicycle, in order to keep your balance you have to keep moving forward."

So embrace the forward motion y'all (and the crazy) and keep on trucking :)

Lilly for Target- Two Bloggers & Two Jumpsuits!

The fabulous Julie Leah and I had so much fun last week showing you how we styled our Lilly for Target flounce dresses, that we decided to keep the party going and do it again! This week we are tackling #LillyforTarget jumpsuits (which is pretty much my favorite item of clothing as y'all know)! Julie and I each picked up a different piece, so it's fun to see how we both personalized them to our styles. And I don't know about you, but after seeing how fab Julie looks I think I need to pick up that jumpsuit for myself… ;) #watchingmywishlistgrow #andmybudgetshrink

Lilly for Target- Two Bloggers One Dress!

One of the absolute best perks of blogging is making sweet, sweet friends like the doll I teamed up with today, the so-good-at-pattern-mixing-I'm-jealous Julie Leah! Julie's blog is one of my daily reads- she always provides the most beautiful inspirations and I just love that she adores bold patterns as much as I do. I was thrilled when she told me on Insta that we snagged the same Lilly for Target items and even more excited when we decided to team up to show y'all how we both put our spin on the same pieces! Today is part one of two- I hope you have as much fun reading as we did putting this together! And make sure to stop by and say "hi" to Julie (she's sweet as pie!)

Cinco de Mayo & Lilly Pulitzer for Target!

I don't know about you, but I think Cinco de Mayo calls for bright colors and lots of cheer! How else do you get into the celebratory mood?! ;) I think this Lilly for Target dress is the perfect backdrop for all the 5th of May festivities! It's also my dad's birthday today (Happy Birthday!!) so there are some fabulous celebrations to be had all around! Ole!!

6 Ways to Score Lilly for Less

This is a post I've been wanting to do for some time, and I'm so excited that I was finally able to put it together! As a Lilly lover on a Target budget, I wanted to share my secrets of how I score the designer I love for way less than retail! If you've been a reader here for some time, you know that I love Lilly Pulitzer and wear her often. What you may not know is that most of my pieces were purchased for 30-75% off!! How, you ask? Read on to find out! Hopefully some of these tricks will help you too (because who doesn't want to save a few dollars these days)?!
