With the 4th of July right around the corner, my red, white, & blue obsession is at a fever pitch! I thought it would be fun this week to share a few festive looks to get you in the mood for one of my favorite holidays! This dress capitalizes on the oh-so-popular off the shoulder trend, and the chambray makes it perfect for everyday wear, but adding a fun red clutch gives it that little something special :)

Let's Cha Cha

My aunt is a huge fan of accessories, and while she loved the colors of this outfit, when we went to take these pictures she said it needed a "little something extra." So, we raided her basket of headbands and saw this flower beauty and BOOM! That was what this needed! I instantly felt ready to boogie (in fact half of these pictures ended up too blurry to post because I was twirling and dancing so much!) Sometimes all it takes is a statement-making accessory to take an outfit from run-of-the-mill to extra-special!

As a girl who is "out there" in the dating pool, I've had my share of prepping for first dates and I know the stress that can come along with trying to pick the perfect outfit. Is it just me or did this week go from Monday to Friday in about 3 seconds flat? I had a 24 hour event at work on Wednesday so we were crazy busy prepping for it at the beginning of the week, and then have been nutty recapping it since then. (Retail right?! What I'm Loving Lately: A Perfect LBD

I have been on an extreme hunt for one of the most sought-after, classic pieces a woman can own- a Little Black Dress! I have been desperately seeking this closet staple, hoping to find a piece that is not only flattering, but also highly versatile too!

Well, inspired by this post from the Northeast Girl I headed to Kohl's to check out their dress selection. And what do you know? I found the holy grail of Little Black Dresses! A comfortable knit, subtle striping... it's absolute PERFECTION! I was also inspired by jewelry from J.R. Dunn that gives your look the perfect pizzaz! Here are two of the hundreds of ways I plan to style my find:

An Executive Presentation:

In my corporate life I often find myself having to make executive presentations. Since I am not a girl who enjoys “power suits” a powerful LBD is my go-to foundation piece for my work look. Adding a classic pearl set and timeless watch says, “I got this- you’re about to watch me shine!”
