Good as Gold

We started the week talking spring, and now we're going to chat about what to wear when a cold front comes through! (ugh... #notagain)  Now I know I can't complain too much (I do live in sunny Florida after all!) but I still am not pumped for our temps to dip again. So, I've found that resorting to my favorite formula of chambray + excursion vest is an easy win for me.

Fair Isle & "Real Life"

Lately a lot of my favorite bloggers have been opening up about "real life" and life behind the "perfect lens" you can often see on the blog. It's really been getting me thinking... although it's never my intention to hide things, it's just never as fun to talk about the bad things in life! BUT, in the spirit of being honest, you know how some weeks really kick your butt? This has been one of those weeks! I've been fighting some sort of bug since last week, and Monday night I came down with severe chills and aches. Turns out I got my first ever sinus infection (lucky me)! Add on top of that some situations that are totally out of my comfort zone, and I'm really being stretched and tested in every crevice of my life. 

But it's ok. I remind myself that diamonds are created by pressure, and out of our biggest struggles comes our greatest learnings. So if I can encourage you at all, it would be to get up, dress up, and never give up! :)

Celebrations in Celebration

Happy Monday y'all! I know that Monday's aren't normally a cause for celebration (more like a reason to #SaveWaterDrinkWine) but I love adding cheer to my everyday and today seemed like the perfect day to do so! :) 

Recently, my family and I went to Celebration, FL to (what else?) celebrate my Grandma's birthday. She was born December 26, so it's always fun to keep our Christmas cheer & family time going during her birthday celebrations! We love having dinner at the Columbia restaurant there- I literally dream about their 1905 salad- the best!! And they start your meal by bringing you our a hot-out-of-the-oven cuban bread portion... it's the most amazing dinner! Eek- now I'm hungry!! :)

Girl's Night Out

I wore this outfit a few weekends ago for a fun girls night out with some of my Junior League gal pals and it was perfect for the cool breezy evening. I love the bright colors (#bigsurprise) and was so excited to carry my new bow clutch! My mom got me this clutch for Christmas (#thanksmamma) and it coordinated perfectly with this look! Don't you just love it when an outfit falls into place? :) What's your favorite GNO look?

Keep it Southern, Keep it Classy

Hey y'all! Sorry I was MIA yesterday. Spring is turning out to be a crazy, busy time for me & preparing for the presidency next year (and all the retreats for my new leaders) is a pretty insane time commitment! So I took my day off to take lots of new blog photos (y'all are going to LOVE them!!) and catch up on my emails/planning for Junior League! Plus, one of my favorite gal pals, Stephanie, is coming into town this weekend to visit so I deep-cleaned my apartment in preparation! I'm so excited to see her and her adorable lil baby bump- she's the cutest mamma-to-be! Eek! 

And whether you worked or played yesterday, I hope that there was a little bit of relaxation thrown in. Speaking of relaxation, Jadelynn Brooke is becoming my absolute go-to brand for relaxing in! They are three adorable sisters based out of Texas who have created to perfect lifestyle brand for the modern, preppy, Southern girl (like moi! :) ) Think anchors, plaid, and a whole lot of pink- in one word… Perfection!

Plaid Attitude

This season it seems like plaid is everywhere (especially on the ever-prevalent blanket scarf that has taken over instagram)! Well I love to put a twist on things, so when I saw this tunic I was all too excited to say "yes yes yes" to adding it to my closet! Although this is a classic plaid pattern, the playful ruffle collar and tunic length make this perfect for the office or a fun afternoon. And funny story… I wore this outfit to my Junior League Board of Directors Christmas party and my President showed up wearing the same thing! (#greatminds #twinning)

A Colorful Winter Scarf

Call it the Lilly Pulitzer effect, but there is no outfit that that I don't think a healthy dose of pink and green will compliment! I love wearing this scarf because it reminds me of the fun trip I took to New York with my sister this summer. She and I both fell in love with the bright and colorful scarves being sold by one of the numerous street vendors, and we couldn't resist picking up a few! The colors in this one are so cheerful that I can't not smile when wearing it. I love that this is a souvenir that I can wear/use all the time. What's your favorite souvenir that you've ever gotten?
