Welcome to a brand new week y'all! Did you have a great weekend? Mine was B-U-S-Y... from a Juice Beauty Influencer event Friday, to a Saturday morning volunteering & Saturday night Christmas party with friends, to a Sunday spent with Santa- it was full of all the Christmas feels! :) 

I also made a good dent in my Christmas gift list, and at an unexpected place! I popped into TJ Maxx for one thing... and somehow picked up 5 gifts! Mine had just gotten a huge Kate Spade shipment in and I was able to get notepads, planners, notebooks, water bottles & coffee mugs for some of my favorite fashionistas! It was a total win- so if you're looking for some great gifts definitely see if your's is stocked up too!

Can I get a high five for Friday my friends?! YES! As I'm sure you can imagine, Q4 (Oct-Dec) is peak selling season in retail and work has been bonkers. I feel like my days are flying by and I blink & it's Monday and then I blink & it's Friday! But i'm definitely not complaining that the weekend is here. Bring on the happy hours!

Let's start with the #1 selling factor: it's $10- yeah I can't believe it either. My friend Sarah encouraged my to pick it up last time we were shopping & I am so happy that I did! While it works perfectly now with jeans and booties, I can totally see it in the Spring with shorts and converse tennis shoes (come on Spring)!

Happy Friday my sweet friends! I'm so thrilled that another weekend is here- it may have only been a three day week, but my job sure packed a punch and I need a happy hour asap! :) I'm meeting up with my favorite gal-pal downtown tonight for some jewelry shopping (yes to sparkles!) and then those coveted cocktails! And tomorrow my godson's 5th birthday is happening and I can't wait to celebrate that sweet boy! PS- any gift ideas for a 5 year old boy?! :)

Now on to my newest and swoon-worthiest top! If there was any color that I would consider a "neutral" in my wardrobe it would be blue; and mixed with white it is just as classic as can be. So as soon as I spotted this tank I was transported to Cape Cod, and breezy summer days, and let's be real... we all need some pieces in our closet that transport us when we wear them! :) And come on, can you even with those oversize bows?! I can't! (insert all the heart-eyes!)

Summer Loving in Loft

I think it's pretty clear that I'm having a major love affair with the Loft this season. Their fall collection may have been a bit of a dud, but they totally made up for it with all the goodness this spring & summer! One part of the collection I haven't shopped a ton? The Beach line; and after scooping up this darling printed romper I am wondering why! 

If you haven't shopped the beach collection before, then I'll give you the heads up that it's lighter weight materials than their regular line - since it's made for the beach! But what I adore about it is that even thought it's light weight it's NOT see through- so it's pretty perfect for summer in Florida! (Or really any steamy state this time of year). The fluttery back on this romper gives it a little something extra too- and it's unique details like that which make me swoon! I jazzed it up here for daytime, but you can easily throw this over your swimsuit and be on your way too.

I love stripes anytime of the year, but there is something about breaking them out in the summer time that makes them that much more, special. I mean, stripes and & summer kind of go hand in hand! #AmIRight ? So you can only imagine how excited I was when I spotted this sunset striped romper on the Loft website! I mean, don't you just want to run on over to the ocean's edge and watch the sun say goodnight? This piece is actually from their "Beach" line (meaning it's extra lightweight for days outside) but I love that it's not see through at all. And it's seriously one of the COMFIEST pieces that I have in my closet! A true winner on all fronts :)

Hey sweet friends! Happy Friday! Can I just tell you how much I missed y'all? It's no secret that I love to travel & often get bit by the travel bug, but it sure takes me out of my "routine"- and makes it hard to keep up with everything. Although I won't lie, it sure is nice to unplug once in awhile :) 

I actually got back from Vegas at about 1:30am yesterday, but our luggage was delayed due to construction at the airport so I didn't get home until about 2:30am, and then due to sleeping on the plane I was WIRED and couldn't sleep until almost 4am! (#AllOutOfWack) So I finally went to sleep and then picked up Buddy Bear and headed into work after lunch. So now I'm catching up on the blog and so excited to be back in the groove with y'all!

I just love that this season is all about fun, unique, feminine details! By adding the simplest little details it takes basic items "up" a notch and makes them totally unique! Case-in-point: this adorable cold-shoulder tee. On it's own, it would be a sweet and simple basic; but by adding the cut-outs and bow ties you've got a fun piece that's sure to garner some compliments :) I'm also a sucker for scallops of any kind- so of course I totally swooned over these chambray shorts- I mean, the cutest!! The perfect finishing touch was my Oka-B bow flats... this girl sure does love her bows!

Over the weekend I posted this photo Instagram and I got SO many comments from all of y'all! It was really fun to hear from everyone! As I mentioned there, as of this week I am "cutting the cord" with my cable and moving strictly into the land of Apple TV/Netflix/Hulu- and it's a big change! I'm so used to coming home and just turning on the TV for background noise that I know it's going to be so different to not have that ability. But, I'm pretty excited that it will help me be more intentional with my tv watching & save me over $100 a month! Win-win! Yay for making it half way through the week! Last night was a late one- my bible study girls got together for a social and we laughed so hard my stomach hurt! All of a sudden we checked our watches and went, "how did it become 10PM?!" Time really does fly when you are having FUN! And we sure were :) Thankful for them!

Now on today's outfit! I saw these darling embroidered bee shorts in Loft a few weeks ago, but the store didn't have my size. Luckily I scored them online- because they sold out only days later! I kept hoping they would be restocked, but alas it doesn't look like they will be, so I'm sorry about that! Luckily it looks like bows will continue to be big details this season, so i've found some really cute options for you if you're wanting to recreate this look. I'm just loving all these girly details!

The Only Shorts You Need for Summer

I know it's a pretty bold statement to say that these are "the only shorts you need for summer"- but friends that's how good they are! The minute I laid eyes on them, it was pretty much love at first sight- the stripes, the pink, the big bow! S-W-O-O-N! My head was already spinning with all the ideas I had to style them. When it came time to shoot this look, I decided to KISS (keep it simple silly) and let the shorts speak for themselves. So a white tee and simple gold jewelry it was! I definitely think you could amp up your look with a one-shoulder or off the shoulder top + wedges... girl's night?! Yes please! When those chilly summer nights roll in, toss on a denim jacket for an extra layer. I adore the loose, comfy fit yet how pulled together they look!

For fit, these shorts have an elastic waist and loose fit, but run TTS- I'm wearing a 6.

Sharing the last of my holiday photos and I have to say, it makes me a little sad! The holidays are such a special time of year that I've loved stretching them out a little longer and reliving the holiday cheer through these pictures :) 

Today's look is actually what I wore on Christmas day, but I also think it would be perfect for a casual Friday look at the office. I adore dressing up denim for work. When I was younger I lived in dresses, and I could probably count on one hand the number of times I wore jeans in college, but the older I get the more I see value in my denim and how versatile it really is! From a low-key weekend running errands to a sassy night out, good denim can really take you anywhere!

Also, I feel like I've been a failure of a #SouthernGirl because I just got my first pair of pearl studs & a necklace! I've always love the classic and timeless look of pearls, but had yet to invest in a piece. I bit the bullet as a Christmas gift to myself, and now I don't know how I lived without them!

We may only be five (!!!) days from Christmas, but that doesn't mean my social calendar has gotten any less busy! In fact, I have drinks with a friend from Charlotte tonight, lunch & gift exchange with my bestie on Thursday, and a cocktail & gift exchange night with my high school besties Friday- not to mention Christmas Eve and Christmas day! Whew! My wardrobe has been working overtime to make sure I'm dressed for all these fun and festive occasions. 

This season I've been loving understated looks that can be multi-purposed after the rush of holiday parties is through. I actually wore this top to work last week with cuffed dark denim and nude wedges and it was a hit at the office :) Love that this is a season-less look!

One of the most fun things about being a Florida girl is that there is never a bad time to go out to the water! When I lived in Kansas (my first 2 years out of college) I realized how much I missed being able to drive down the street and see the gulfs and oceans- amazing what we take for granted right? I was just talking to a friend of mine and we were reminiscing on how much we loved seeing lights on palm trees and our Christmas boat parades... it may not be a snowman, but Florida Christmases sure can't be beat :)

 Can you believe this is the last day of June?! Half way through the year y'all! Time, please slow down! The only good thing about the end of June is that it brings the 4th of July- whoop whoop! This dress runs quite large & long, I'm actually wearing a small petite (I'm normally a medium regular). For extra context, I'm 5'4 & a size 6/8 on bottom :) Once I got the right size on, I absolutely adored this look! I feel ready for a summer picnic!

Spring Transition: LOFT Sailor Shorts + A Spring #OOTD

We've been having the best weather in Florida this past week or two; it starts off in the 50s and gets to mid-70s by the afternoon... it's glorious! However, with that range of temps one has to prepare one's wardrobe so today we're going to chat about spring transitions!

I might be a lot little excited to wear my shorts, but with the cool mornings and nights, I've been adding a long-sleeve tee to ward off the cold. To jazz up this combo and make it more fun, you can add a statement necklace and (monogrammed) clutch for a night out (or girl's afternoon)! This combo has been such a fun one lately and I can't wait for the warm weather to be here to stay!

An Olivia Pope Cardigan + A WINNER!

Can we all agree that Olivia Pope without a doubt has the best wardrobe on TV? I'm obsessed with her snuggly collection of cardigans so I was stoked to find this one!
