"Our Greatest Adventure Begins..."

This past weekend my besties and I got to shower one of our own, Alison, who is welcoming her first child (a sweet baby boy!) in March. It was such an amazing weekend, filled with love, laughter, memories, and the cutest baby clothes! We were all marveling over the fact that we have now been friends for 8 years (we all meet in college Freshman year) and since that time we have been through so many adventures together- but I will say that helping these girls welcome babies has to be one of the most special ones!

We decided on an "adventure" theme for Alison's shower since her hubby is a seaplane pilot and they spent several months in Alaska for his work. I figured this big 'ol fur fit right in ;) Alison & Ben are such a fun and loving couple and are seriously going to make the best parents to little Rhett Charles! We can't wait to meet him y'all!

Summer Party Wear

Is your fridge covered in invitations this season like mine is? Social events, engagement parties, weddings, and baby shows have my magnets working overtime! Since I know many ladies are in the same boat, I thought I would share a dress style that works for any of these occasions with small accessory changes. Since we don't all have unlimited budgets, it's nice to have a dress that can work overtime for your party needs :) I styled this dress how I would wear it for a baby shower, with some easy Palm Beach Sandals, a simple clutch, and my go-to bangles. But adding wedges takes you to an engagement party, and swapping in nude heels and a glitzy gold bangle stack takes you to the wedding day (as long as it's not a black-tie wedding)! This really is the dress that does it all!

Cinco de Mayo & Lilly Pulitzer for Target!

I don't know about you, but I think Cinco de Mayo calls for bright colors and lots of cheer! How else do you get into the celebratory mood?! ;) I think this Lilly for Target dress is the perfect backdrop for all the 5th of May festivities! It's also my dad's birthday today (Happy Birthday!!) so there are some fabulous celebrations to be had all around! Ole!!

Carnival

Whenever I wear this dress I feel like I should have a funnel cake in one hand and cotton candy in the other, it reminds me that much of a carnival! Something about those bright stripes & colors just say "ride the merry go round"! ha!

My mom actually got this dress for me for Christmas from the best local boutique in my hometown, Sophie and Trey. We were out shopping on Black Friday and I spotted this dress & the coordinating clutch and quickly put it on my "Dear Santa" list! Well Santa brought it Christmas morning and I had to wait patiently until Spring to break it out- and now I can't imagine putting it back in my closet! I just love how cheerful it is!

Turquoise + Pink (And Flamingos Too!)

Happy St Patty's Day y'all! (let's just get this out of the way… turquoise counts as green right?!) ;) This holiday has always been such a funny one to me, but I'm all about a color-coded holiday and drinking a beer so I'm not complaining! ha!

With the gorgeous weather we've been having, it's been my full belief that bright on bright is better! So it was a no-brainer to pair this adorable flamingo tee with my Lilly skirt and call it a day! I'm also obsessed with these tassel necklaces I picked up recently- they add the perfect pizzaz to any look! How are you celebrating the coming of Spring?!

Cheers to 27 Years!

Well friends, I can hardly believe it, but today is my 27th birthday! I've got so many emotions running through me today as I get another year closer to 30 "wiser", but mainly I'm just excited to celebrate! 26 was a roller-coaster of a year, and I'm hoping this fresh new year brings a whole lot of joy and happiness :) But for today, it's all about the #popfizzclink !

When it Doesn't Work for You

Today I want to talk about a little discussed topic… when trends don't work for you! I picked up this J. Crew button up on super-clearance after seeing it all over the web being worn in the "half-tucked/half-untucked" trend. I loved that slouchy cool look and was pumped to pull it off for myself! But y'all I'm going to be real honest, when I half-tucked my shirt I just looked a fool! I don't know what happened, but somehow on my frame the trend just fizzled out. Boo! But you know what? I loved it on me untucked and fancy-free! So I tell you this to say, that trends are fun for inspiration, but at the end of the day you have to wear what make you look and feel as fabulous as you are! :)

So here is the trend gone wrong! Enjoy these silly pictures :)

Top: J. Crew Side-Stripe Sequin Shirt // Pants: Gap Slim Cropped Pants // Wedges: J. Crew Factory Sylvia Patent Wedge // Watch: Bellezza (similar) // Ring: Victoria Wieck (love) // Clutch: Sophie and Trey (similar)

Happy Thursday friends!

Girl's Night Out

I wore this outfit a few weekends ago for a fun girls night out with some of my Junior League gal pals and it was perfect for the cool breezy evening. I love the bright colors (#bigsurprise) and was so excited to carry my new bow clutch! My mom got me this clutch for Christmas (#thanksmamma) and it coordinated perfectly with this look! Don't you just love it when an outfit falls into place? :) What's your favorite GNO look?

Oh Shift!

Y'all I can't resist a good pun, or anything pink & green, so put them both together and you know it was pretty much love at first sight with this sweater! I crack up every year when Lilly's site crashes during their twice yearly sales and you get the inevitable "oh shift! we broke the internet" message- so I love that they embraced the tongue-in-cheek on the front of this sweater! It sure makes winter so much brighter, doncha think?!

Printed Dress + Fur Vest

Happy Monday y'all! I'm sorry I kind-of dropped off the radar on all social media fronts the past few days. It was the Junior League's Whale of a Sale (our biggest fundraiser of the year) and I spent Thursday-Saturday volunteering all day and then Sunday recovering! It was a great weekend and a fabulous event- but I was spent from all that work! Huge congrats to the ladies of the committee on an amazing event!!

Now onto today's look! I'd been on the hunt for the perfect fur vest all season, and when home for Christmas I stumbled across this one from Sophie and Trey- I just love this store! It was the perfect fit and exactly what I'd been looking for! I love pairing it with this dress for a fun look that would be perfect for drinks with the gals. If you're still looking for a fur vest- this one is still in stock!

The Best Laid Plans...

Do you ever have one of those weekends were you think you are going to accomplish everything… but somehow that just doesn't happen? Yeah… this was one of those weekends! So sorry for the radio silence yesterday, but I'm back and ready to rock and roll! :)

Houston, We Don't Have a Problem

Now that summer is saying its final goodbyes and making way for fall, it's that awkward transition time where I crave jeans and sleeves, but its just not practical! This outfit is the perfect compromise, allowing hints of fall while still being mindful of the persistent heat. I love the bright burst of color up top, and paired with this gold clutch this is a perfect date night look. How are you handling the fashion transition?

Why Thank You

When I put this outfit on, I really didn't think that it was anything special. It seemed pretty simple- a shirtdress and flats... no brainer right? Well I kid you not when I say I was stopped throughout the day by folks telling me how much they loved this look. There was even a kind gentleman who said "you look like spring"! Wearing pink certainly puts some pep in my step- and I guess it brightens other's days too! :)
