Merry Christmas!

"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us." 

(Matthew 1:23)

Oh happy day sweet friends- it's Christmas! This is such a special day in which we celebrate the birth  of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. The older I get the more I truly have begun to comprehend that the very best gifts of all are my family, friends, and Lord. The "stuff" is simply that- stuff. But having a God who loves me enough to send his son for payment of my sins? Priceless.

I hope that in the midst of the presents and the cheer today we can take a moment to remember what the day is really about- the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. It's hard to fathom sometimes that our God loved us so much that her sent his Son to save us from our sins. What love that is! Daily I'm humbled by the Lord's grace for me, and today more than ever I am thankful for his faithfulness to us (even when grossly undeserved). 

So hug your loved ones tight and give thanks to the Lord for he is so good!

One Christmas Eve

I hope y'all had the merriest Christmas and enjoyed some sweet time with your families and friends! I LOVED being home for a few days and soaking in some precious time with my loved ones. I spent lots of quality time with those that matter most, and my heart is oh-so-happy! 

So, in the continuing holiday spirit (and the fact that I'm in denial that Christmas is over) I'm excited to share what I wore for Christmas Eve this year! I am completely in love with this Dolly & George skirt I wore, and I have a fun story about it! I ran into my sweet friend Amy, who I work with, at the Junior League of Tampa's Holiday Market this year. She runs the most adorable custom baby boutique in her spare time and I loved all her designs! I picked up this skirt in a toddler size and half-jokingly said "can you make this in my size?!" Well Amy was up for the challenge (I was her first adult-size skirt) and it turned out perfect!! I can't thank Amy enough for designing this for me, and I hope y'all check out her adorable shop (you'll love it!) :)

Merry Christmas y'all! Today is one of the most special days of the year to me- and no, not because of the presents! It's because today is filled with my family, and every memory I have of Christmas is filled with love & warmth as my family pauses to celebrate and reflect on the birth of our Savior. What a tremendous blessing we have been given by the Lord in his son, Jesus. And further, what a tremendous blessing we have been give in each other. I pray that today brings you so much joy and so much love!

Holiday Memories: My Favorite Ornaments

One of my favorite holiday traditions is decorating the Christmas tree with my family. What I love about our tree is how unique it is. Each and every ornament has been handpicked or gifted to one of us, and every year my mom buys each of us a special ornament representative of something we loved that year or an activity we were involved in. Looking at our tree is like getting a glimpse of our history, and each year as we decorate we reflect on the stories behind the ornaments.

Christmas Cozy

When deciding what to wear for Christmas day, one word kept reverberating in my brain... "cozy". The temperatures finally dropped in Florida (to a chilly 70 degrees!) and visions of bundling up were dancing in my head.

My family tradition is to wake up at 6:30 am and open presents in our PJs, then we have breakfast, open stockings, get ready and head to my extended family's house about an hour away- so Christmas is a busy holiday for us!

I wanted to be cozy and comfortable for this busy day, and a bow sweater was the perfect way to feel festive! I am obsessed with these bow smoking loafers I found a Kohls (a STEAL at $35) and with my trademark gold bow necklace I felt wrapped up like a present! Buddy even got in on the fun with a festive Christmas sweater- he loved it!

Christmas is just my favorite time of year! I love being surrounded by family and friends and coming together to celebrate our sweet Savior's birth. It's the perfect time of year to reflect on blessings and remember just how lucky and loved we each are (both here on earth and in Heaven).
