The Little Things

Top: c/o Make Me Chic || Shorts: J. Crew Factory || Clutch: Sophie & Trey (old, similar here) || Earrings: c/o Shop Kismet || Apple Watch with this band || Sandals: Sam Edelman Gigi

Welcome friends and happy Monday! Who is excited to start a fresh new week?? This past weekend was the first one I was in town for in what feels like forever, and it was so refreshing to catch-up on life, run errands, & see friends. While I am so thankful for all the traveling I have been able to do this year (and more to come) sometimes you just need some low-key time. Thankful I refueled the past few days!

I find that August is always a hard month for me fashion-ways. Down here in FL it's pretty much the hottest month of the year (I see you 100 degree heat index!) but retails are clearance-ing out the summer styles to make way for fall (say what?!). My instagram becomes a sea of "I can't wait for PSLs and pumpkins" while i'm here in the sunshine state trying not to sweat my makeup off! #Truth. So how is a girl to dress?

Make Me Chic: Multi Gingham OTS Top + $1,000 Giveaway Reminder!

Top: c/o Make Me Chic || Shorts: J. Crew Factory || Wedges: Banana Republic (old, similar here)

Do you ever have those pieces that just kind of sucker- punch you because they are that adorable?! That's the feeling I got when I spotted this super-playful, multi-gingham off the shoulder top... That breathless excitement that can only come when you spot the perfect piece! I focus a lot on buying "practical" pieces for my closet, things I can wear for work and play/things that are timeless and ageless, but every once in awhile you need those crazy-fun and totally impractical finds that make you smile- and friends this top is just that!

Since it is insanely hot out here in Fl still (low 90s with over 90% humidity) I paired this top with shorts and wedges for a casual girls night out, but come fall I plan on keeping this piece in rotation by adding skinny jeans and some sassy booties!

Tell me... What have been your favorite "sucker-punch" pieces lately? Do you love having those pieces that make you smile in your closet?

All the Girly Details: Gingham + Bows

Gingham Top: c/o Make Me Chic || Shorts: Old Navy || Sandals: Palm Beach Sandals || Clutch: BP via Nordstrom (similar color available here under $25!) || Necklace: Zenzii Jewelry || Bangles: c/o Shop Gameday Glam || Apple Watch

Well another Monday is here... doesn't it seem like they always come so fast?! For the first time in forever I had zero plans and it was glorious! I got tons of cleaning, organizing, & unpacking done around the house + lots of blog work! Super duper productive around here :)

So I have to tell you a funny story about this top. As you will see in the pictures below, the back of this top is totally open. So, when I got out of the car to meet with my aunt photographer she said, "Well that's a little sassier than I'm used to seeing!" ha. I guess when you always dress so conservatively even a little bit of skin gets you the "sassy" comments! But you know what? If I'm going to do sassy, then this precious gingham top is the way to go. The peplum hem & three big bows just stole my heart from the word go! How do y'all add a little sass into your wardrobe?

I Like Big Bows...

Dress: c/o Make Me Chic || Wedges: c/o Oka-B (get 20% off with code "OKABGIRL16") || Apple Watch || Bangle: Bourbon and Bowties

There is absolutely nothing this Florida girl loves more than a sunshine-filled day at the beach! This weekend my Aunt/photographer and I got together to shoot some new content for this little blog & I told her we just HAD to meet near the water- I needed some Vitamin Sea! Luckily, I had the perfect dress for an excursion down to the beach- this precious striped bow dress! I love the loose, oversized fit- it allowed me to stay cool even in the sweltering heat. And I mean, who doesn't love the sweet bow-tie detail on the back... swoon! When I got these new Oka-B Sullivan wedges in the mail I knew they would make the perfect pairing! #BowonBowsonBows In my world, too much is never enough! ;)

Birthday Brights!

Yellow Dress: c/o Make Me Chic (wearing size small) || Shoes: Sam Edelman "Yardley" (option 1/option 2) || Necklace: Kendra Scott Rayne || Apple Watch || Clutch: Mud Pie (similar) || Bangles: Bourbon and Bowties

Today is one of my favorite days of the year... My BIRTHDAY!! It's my last year in my twenties and I can hardly believe it! I remember being a little girl and thinking that 30 sounded so old, and that I would be so mature and have it all figured out by then. Now it's a year away and I still don't feel close to having it all together- ha! I certainly don't feel old either ;)

To celebrate, I headed to Raleigh last night with some of my girls for a fun weekend! We've got lots of brunch, wine, and relaxing planned & I can't wait! If you need me I will be laughing, dancing, and toasting to the brand new year of my life and all the excitement and hope it ushers in!

The Cutest Pink Cold Shoulder

Top: c/o Make Me Chic || Shorts: Loft || Shoes: Converse || Clutch: Lilly Pulitzer (old, similar) || Necklace: Kendra Scott || Apple Watch

Happy Wednesday! I'm still (currently) in NY and I'm headed home tonight- it's been a busy week here at market and I can't wait to share it with y'all soon! It's a lot of work, but it's definitely fun :) I grabbed drinks last night in the city with my friends Katie for a little pre-birthday celebration... can't believe I will be another year older on Friday!

In other exciting news, I'm thrilled to share this adorable cold-shoulder top with y'all today! I think I became a human heart-eye emoji the minute I saw it, and that love keeps on growing! I think this is a perfect spring to summer top because it pairs well with both casual shorts & could also be dressed up with dark denim and wedges. How cute would this be for a night out??

Also, I realized I haven't chatted about it in awhile, but I still love my Kendra Scott Rayne necklace! I get asked about it ALL the time, and whether I think they are worth the price, and the answer is 100% yes, they are so worth it! I own three (this blue, a light pink, and neon pink) and I wear them 1-2 times a week. They always add the perfect pop of color to my outfits too! So if you are still on the fence I hope you take a chance on one; and remember during your birthday month you get 50% off one item in the store! Now what color am I adding to my collection next?!

5 Shows Currently On My DVR

Tunic: c/o Make Me Chic || Leggings: c/o LulaRoe Mary Allison || Boots: Michael Shannon (these are my go-to pair) || Apple Watch || Bangles: Bourbon and Bowties

Happy Friday! It has been another busy, busy week here and I absolutely cannot believe that February is already half-way though! I've been running around town so much that I've hardly been home or had a moment to catch up on my "life". Last night I only made it about 30 minutes on my couch before my eyes just couldn't stay open! Needless to say, I'm currently very thankful for my DVR so I can catch up on my favorite shows this weekend :) Is #DVRandChill a thing?! ha! So today I thought it would be fun to share a few shows currently on my DVR- are there any you're watching too?

Boho Blues & The Cutest Dress Under $20!

Dress: c/o Make Me Chic // Booties: Target

"Boho" is normally the farthest thing from the description of my style, but sometimes it's fun to push your own limits & style boundaries- that's where the fun can be! Let's take this breezy dress for example, shall we? I went totally gaga for the tassel details (so cute!), but something about the muted floral print and the easy & forgiving shape said "perfect for the holidays." I really wanted to play up the boho vibes so I paired it with my go-to booties and voila! New style achieved :)

What molds have y'all broken recently?

One Last Hurrah!

Dress: c/o Make Me Chic // Clutch: Nordstrom (same in different colors) // Apple Watch // Shoes: Target

Well y'all, dare I say the temps in Florida are actually making a turn towards the chilly and it looks like this week is holding our last few minutes of warm weather! So I've decided to go out with a bang and am busting out the ruffles and tassels in full force :) Tassels were one of my favorite trends from this summer and I so hope that they make a reappearance this spring - don't you?

On another note, I'm starting to plan out my Holiday content and I want to know if there is anything y'all want to see? Is there someone on your list who is hard to shop for? Any upcoming parties that you need style tips for? I always want my content to be relevant and helpful so if there is anything you're dying to see let me know!
