Dressing Room Diaries

Well a brand new week is upon us, so what better way to welcome it than with a new round of "Dressing Room Diaries" ?! Y'all seem to enjoy these as much as I do; I love being able to share how items fit 'in real life' without perfect photography or Lightroom (and with my after-wedding hair!) I'm providing fit and sizing information, but if you have any additional questions leave 'em below in the comments or email me :)

Gingham Drop Waist Dress ($69.50- get $50 off through Tuesday with code "FLASH")- I shared this darling dress last week during my Summer Sundress round-up and I was excited to try it on in store this weekend, and let me tell 'ya I'm glad I did! This dress runs quite large & long, I'm actually wearing a small petite (I'm normally a medium regular). For extra context, I'm 5'4 & a size 6/8 on bottom :) Once I got the right size on, I absolutely adored this look! I feel ready for a summer picnic!

Rompers on King Street {Charleston Night 3}

Have you ever found a piece of clothing that made you quite literally run across town to purchase the minute you saw it? That's exactly what happened with this romper! When Asha and I were shopping on King Street we stopped into Moon and Lola and the adorable salesgirl was wearing this romper. I fell in love with it on the spot and Asha and I raced across town to pick it up from Belk! (Thanks to Asha for putting up with the antics of her crazy friend! ha!) I just couldn't help myself- it was perfect for our last night out in Charleston!

Speaking of which, we ended our food tour of the city at Eli's Table and once again we had the most amazing dinner; we dined on duck and waffles, shrimp and pancakes, fried green tomatoes & shrimp and grits. It was heavenly and the perfect last hurrah! Then we danced the night away at Prohibition (which I highly recommend for playing the most fabulous variety of music- both Pit Bull and Spice Girls in the same night!)

The Preppy Look for Less

One of the things I most wanted to do when starting my blog was share brands that I "discovered" (or at the very least weren't mainstream yet!) I love shopping with local or up and coming designers, and what's more fun than sharing these fab finds with your friends?! So, today I'm super excited to share one of my up-and-coming favorite brands with you, Crown & IvyCrown & Ivy is a proprietary brand found exclusively at Belk (a southern department store) and they are beyond preppy and fun! I love that they have timeless and classic silhouettes in cheeky patterns (like the bee print dress below). Most of the price points are under $100- which is just wonderful! Have you ever shopped Crown & Ivy before?

Hope your Wednesday is a wonderful one! We're halfway through the week!!

Disclaimer: This post was in no way sponsored by Belk or Crown & Ivy, I just love them a whole bunch and wanted to share them with my readers!

Workweek Chic: Bold Colors

I have never subscribed to the notion that workwear has to be boring and full of basic black. Rather I believe that bold, bright colors used correctly are far chicer than neutrals! For me and this dress it was love at first sight! The fun pattern, the fabulous colors, and the conservative cut were perfect for my fashionable office! To combat the office chill I grabbed a black cardigan before I jetted out the door and I was ready to tackle the day.

How do you incorporate bold colors into your work wardrobe?

What I'm Loving Lately: CYNTHIA, Cynthia Rowley

If you're not from the south then you may have never heard of a great department store called Belk. About a year ago Belk began revamping its marketing campaign (and its image) and now advertises that it is the headquarters for "Modern, Southern Style". They carry all of your favorite designers plus some great local southern lines - it's a great place to shop!

Well I was pursuing their website this week and saw tons of fabulous pieces from their CYNTHIA by Cynthia Rowley line and I was hooked! The best part? All these below pieces are on super-sale currently! Here is what I am coveting this week:

A fun, flirty dress for Spring (here)
